Why do people choose to play one class only? Is it because of money issues or is it some other fundamental idea they follow related to lore? Blizzard has been upfront about it: classes at the top of the power level will keep rotating.
Another reason to play all classes is that this simple game becomes a very different experience when you play aggressive, token, midrange, control or combo decks. Things change a lot, and it keeps the game fresh for someone who likes to explore all these different experiences.
Mage right now is not in the best spot, but it has a tier 3/2 deck right now. Which means you can do decent with it no matter the rank. So, unless you are just looking for a tier 1 deck, I bid you farewell until the expansion when mage gets "all the love".

Here to punish the bad posts, so you don't have to.
Trust me that priest players have it significantly worse. I watched kibler play a tempo mage deck with Frogs yesterday that seemed to roll over zoo, so you could probably track that down.
Control Mage is in a great spot right now. You want board clears? Frost Nova/Doomsayer, Blizzard, Flamestrike, Batterhead. Surviving midgame? Zilliax, Rotten Applebaum, Warmage.
There are several other Mage archetypes and control packages that are working well too.

+1, I can't understand the "I am only playing one class" unless you are Zetalot or Apxvoid, but even for them I can't understand why they are so fixated :P.
I used to hate aggro decks. But after playing more and more I understood their value, and even started to like some of them(old token druid, new tempo rogue and so on). You have to play all classes and archetypes to understand the game better, unless you are limited to dust crafting cards , but even so I some "cheap" tier 1-3 decks exist in each class. or homebrew some decks and play fun archetypes in casual without caring for your rank (rank 5 doesn't differ from legend in terms of rewards). I
You know, out of all the classes, mage is probably the one that's been most solid since the beginning, and throughout every expansion. There's never been an expansion where mage didn't have at least some kind of decent presence. Sometimes it's even ruled expansions. But it's never really been laid as low as you seem to think, it's probably been the single stalwart class out of them all, mage has never been "weak". I get that you're just complaining because things feel unfair, and I get it, trust me. Maybe just take a break and come back refreshed?
Come and play Wild ~ Mage is still pretty good here! ^^

This is the reason you never focus on just one class - the more classes you can play, the more fun you can have. There is always wild if you want to just play mage.
This rotation i actually kept all my mage cards for first time ( bad blood with mages from WoW pep days so never played them) and loving it right now. but maybe due to fact its all new for me and not laddering.
McTech is useless in a deck with no healing. If your opponent has 4 minions on the board you already lost without a full clear. Stealing 1 isn't going to do jackshit. Doomsayer is super good in this meta though.
Today I saw a top 20 legend mage decklist posted here.
So yeah, you probably suck. People who complain usually suck, but its ok, thats another topic.
You just need to imrove your skills by watching pros and trying to understand their ingame decisions.

He is not wrong!
Most bad players complain rather than admit that they are just not good enough and make too many mistake to reach high Legend. "The game is pay-to-win, too luck dependent or whatever"^^
I am F2P player and reach high Legend regularly. My best was Rank 4 Legend EU. Believe me, I make mistakes all the time. All the pro and high Legend player do too. Not obvious one like sequencing but still. You learn from it and move on.

Here is the only problem with that logic. If you didn't have people that "mained" a couple of classes and didn't like a specific type of play you would see the same 3 rock paper scissors matchups on the ladder and it would be incredibly boring. Especially right, which is where I think a lot of the frustration occurs, its Warrior (Bomb/Control), Tempo Rogue, and Token Druid absolutely dominating the meta, with some zoo thrown in. If you aren't partial to one of those decks/playstyles you are basically SOL.
Ladder is filled with Rogue, Priest and Druid (same decks) with occasional Warriors (with some different variants). 2 of them being aggro (3 if you want to count demon token Warlock), 1 who is with the ressurect/otk shenanigans, etc. Rogue again being a tier 1 deck (at the moment), Aggro decks there again (no suprise but holy shit its getting bad)...
Welcome in the competitiv ranked mode where ppl use the most efficent decks to climb.
While i wouldn't say i main mage, it is my favorite class. I was a mage main in WoW and it transitioned into HS when i started playing all those years ago. I can safely say now that the class I've had most fun with throughout my playtime is mage. So why do people main X- simply because they have more fun with it. Also i think mage is fine right now. It has a lot of options so it can be teched toward a specific deck and it will probably get better as the meta improves. I think the reason you are having trouble winning is most likely mindset. I've found that mage wins by getting a strong turn to snowball right now. So getting a giant early into conjurer or waiting for a lategame khadgar into power of creation. Look for that 1 turn that ruins the game. Also it's true that 2 random 6cost minions can be terrible but 4 of them is almost always difficult to deal with. There is a reason it's called khadgar mage and not something else.
Why do you guys main class in a game that doesn’t need you to? Weird.

You know there is always MCtech or the new Proud Defender to stay alive in the early game if you need to.
Always expect the unexpectable!

im feeling the same, its all about brainless agro!
the fun for players like me who like combo/controle decks and game that last longer that 8 turns is totally gone at this point.
all i do is my quests for the gold. and pray for beter times!
I used to hate mage. This expansion made mage crazy cool. Khadgar mage May be the most innovative deck since patron warrior.
Dont give up bro
