We all enjoy your help with the "tips" on "how to reach Legend in RoS" but i dont think the solution is to ruin decks by filling them with tech cards...
Do you really think i should use Baron Geddon on my tempo Rogue or Mossy Horror in my Mech Hunter to have a chance in beating token druid? :)
I'm a huge fan of token druid, now that it has viable options, people started complaining... C'mon, guys!! People were used to have a bunch of aoe tools, now that only warriors can halt a game completely, there are threads to nerf Soul of the Forest and even Savage Roar!!! Thank God!! I'm having so much fun with this Year of the Dragon.
About the thread: it is not that simple to counter this deck. As written above, if you run too many tech cards, then your deck will be a piece of s@$t...
Even Savage Roar? Know your history. There have been calls to nerf savage roar since the dawn of hearthstone. It used to be complained about more than Wild Growth and Nourish combined. It is only when druid moved away from the token/ midrange archetypes that it stoped and the call for nerfs moved to other problematic cards.
I still think savage roar and soul of the forest both should have their mana cost increased by 1. There's a real chance those two cards do get nerfed sometime next month.
this has to be bait. no way you play to top 200 legend and think Batterhead is the answer to token druid, lol.
That said, I don't think token druid is broken and I think the meta seems more balanced and healthy than it has in a while. It's the highest WR deck but it's only 2% or 3% higher than several other decks. You can say "oh well if you nerf it down then all will be balanced" but probably one of those 53/54% decks that doesn't have a good token matchup will now be the deck that is 2/3% higher than the rest. Hitting a single card from token might be acceptable but i'd be too hesitant that they might go overboard and kill what I think is a cool archetype.
Token is far from unbeatable and it doesn't really have a big highroll.
mech paladin and zoolock make pretty short work of token druid. it's not set in stone, but those decks inherantly have the upper hand.
token druid is in no way some omnipotent overlord. the counter phase is well under way, and I think we're going to see carpet-lock on top next.
if mech paladin becomes really popular then tempo rogue and murloc shaman feed on this pretty well.
I think it's interesting to watch each meta-stage form and be countered. my money is on token druid, carpet zoo, mech paladin and probably the best control deck to be duking it out soon. oh yeah and murloc shammy as it feeds on a few decks that could end up tier one.
Tech in Batterhead, my goodness, what an idea. Why didn't I think of that...
Probably because Token Druid has you killed by turn 8 and even still would still have a board against you either immediately Soul of the Forest or once their turn starts Wispering Woods/The Forest's Aid

soul of the forest plus vargoth :D
I'd love to see batterhead bust through all that.
I had heard batterhead was good in the right deck though. maybe it's being used in control warrior?

i've only seen it in Big Paladin, which is a decent deck but not great. Batterhead is pretty good if you hit it with a Duel!, but that is about all.
As a token druid player (for now) I can confirm the best way to deal with Token druid is keep their board as small as possible. The fewer minions they have the less useful Soul of the Forest is and it's really hard to get minions and Soul of the forest in one turn. Usually that's a turn 8 play at the earliest. If you make sure they constantly have to build a board then they can't spend mana buffing it. If you leave 4 or more minions on the board at any turn you've most likely lost.
I'm new to this deck so probably make mistakes, but I learned about zoo value trading a long time ago, and it can be used very well on tokens from druid, as my minions usually have a little more health.
The dude above said it anyway. Ha Ha. This is just an example of shutting them down in the early game by aggressively controlling the board.
It’s purpose is to teach people to tech some cards into their net decked decks so they cry less.
Obviously if you hero power the first 8 turns you lose to any deck. How about you try controlling the board and then turn 8 slam the batterhead if you are facing a lot of tokendruids, it provides a sufficient board clear for decks that are lacking in class board removals.
Like I said, if you find yourself facing a lot of a certain matchup, it won’t hurt you by fully teching your deck against those hateful peeps, just like with oozes, destroying weapons of several classes , mossy horror, batter, gedon, dragonmaw scorcher etc deals with tempo rogues board as well.
But yeah I play control warrior most of the time so it’s easier to cut a lot of cards and tech the deck against any unfavourite matchup basically
Tip from a non-legend player:
If you can't beat 'em, join 'em! Token Druid is fairly cheap. Play it. Win.

value trades where possible, try to keep them down to 1 minon, and maintain board control.

Batterhead is 8 mana, Mossy Horror and Baron Geddon is 7 mana. If token druid draws well, you are dead by turn 5.
Turn 4 Wispering Woods and if you cannot clear immediately Turn 5 Savage Roar & Power of the Wild
