After the rotation, warrior has been left without a single taunt minion, or even taunt related cards. Isn't it weird?
It has always seemed a part of warrior's class identity to me, but I had never realized that warrrior doesn't have taunt minions in the classic and basic set. Am I the only one who thinks of taunt minions as "warrior-like"?
Maybe they're trying to give warrior's taunts a rest after quest warrior?
There's plenty of good neutral taunts. Rush cards are showing as a higher winrate on sites such as hsreplay so that's why you're not seeing warriors take taunts.
There are no Taunt minions in Warrior's Basic or Classic set. What makes you think Taunt is part of their class identity?
I know (I even said it myself in the original post), but when you think about taunt, isn't warrior one of the classes that comes to mind? Because it sure as hell isn't mage, rogue or hunter for example

I'm guessing because for the last 4 years warrior has always had taunt synergy cards. And for the last year taunt warrior was the most successful warrior arch-type.

Clearly you know that warrior has gotten taunt synergy cards in several expansions. So what’s the point in this question? Class identity changes as time goes on and new sets come into play.

I mean there are no murloc minions in shaman's classic set but seems that they makes part of his class identity.
I disagree with that statement.
There is a difference between "class identity" and a specific "archetype", that is getting pushed with an expansion. The shaman's "class identity" is board swarm and control with cheap minions that you can buff, your totems and cheap board clears against another board swarming class / single target removal against big minions from the opponent's side of the board. The "Murloc archetype" just suits the "class identity" of the shaman - since murlocs are cheap minions that can buff themselves and thus allowing you to make value trades and win the board control early game and swarm your opponent's face.
Same goes for warrior. The "class identity" is a control class, which uses armor gain to prolong the game and weapons and removals for the opponent's side of the board - just look at the old WotOG Control warrior decklist and you will understand what I am talking about (he got shit tons of armor and that's how he won the fatigue phase, not with that many taunts). It can switch to offensive tho, using those weps for the face and charge minions. "Taunt warrior" is just a "specific archetype", that T5 pushed especially around the Un'goro expansion, but even then - the completion of the quest gave you a strong offensive tool that usually will end the game in a few turns, combined with your other forms of removals. The current Control warrior is just utilizing Dr. Boom's hero power and Rush effect to control the board and remove the enemy's threats. That hero card supplements warrior's "class identity" really good, that's why you don't even notice the missing taunts from the lineup.

Taunt was added somewhere during TGT as part of warriors identity.
It's an expansion gimmick that they just didn't feel like supporting in any particular way.
Kinda like how Evolve was added to Shaman in WoG and since then has been sporadically support in various ways, despite having nothing to do with the class in general.
Same goes for pretty much any class. I remember when the only thing to support Dragon Priest were two decent early game cards and everyone just decided that Dragons are the core identity of Priest now.
Burgle Rogue, Deathrattle Hunter, Self-destruct Warlock, etc. If they keep printing support for past archetypes every expansion they won't have space for new ones.

defensive weapons and armor is warrior's class identity. Garrosh is his own taunt minion
he's still the strongest control class thanks to access to early board clears, great armor gain and super efficient colliders.

Not sure if hyped yet.
Why bothering with silly taunts when you can simply eradicate whatever your opponent plays and kill him at the same time?

Taunts are / were druid's thing, not warrior's.

I tried having fun once. It was awful.
BOLSTER IS NOT A TAUNT MINION.

I kindly highlighted the part you missed. Also, CAPS LOCK DOESN't make your argument more valid
you're right
taunt is a key identity to warrior despite there being ZERO taunt minions in the classic/basic set.
Official Petition to move ALL neutral Murlocs to the Shaman Basic/Classic set because its too confusing to new players otherwise.
