I don't get how this is salt, salt is just whining without any purpose or relevance. I feel like I have an actual point and I don't feel like this kind of deck is in any shape or form healthy for the game, like odd paladin was for an example look how that went, Hall of famed way early
You know what's funny? This expansion, along with the next 2 ones have been designed with the assumption that Gen and Baku would still be in Standard for another year. I bet you anything you want that certain cards which were supposed to be released this year have been postponed for next year because of how powerful it would have been in those decks. Token druid would have been countered by Odd Mage and Odd paladin.
Best thing you can do right now is wait for next rotation. Hope for the best, expect the worst.
Totally shameless Self-plug by copy pasting my post from another thread:
try this deck. I've been using this to demolish aggro, it's weak against control decks, particularly bomb control decks or anything that runs elysiana, but it demolishes Token druid and murloc shamman, and has a fairly winnable matchup against hyperaggressive hunter builds.
Also if you ask about dr.morrigan, i'm using it to generate a board after a beltrug turn but you can cut it for either a second Tunnel Blaster, an Archivist Elysiana or more healing
Just play zoo if token druid destroys you. You can also play mech paladin, it has a pretty good matchup against it and also counters every warrior. Only 5 days passed since the release of the expansion, you should try to find counters instead of complaining about a deck that is surely good, but is nowhere near the power level of things like the old pirate warrior and aggro shaman or polarizing as quest rogue.
Made a mage deck just to counter token druid, put every single boardclear mage has and the Dragon Scorcher guy, and some dragon shit for wincon. I'm like 9-1 against it.
Wait, token druid is a meta deck? I honestly didn't know this since I don't see it often, but love when I do since I have 100% winrate against it with Control Shaman. Apparently, the deck can't handle being cleared 20 times (That's almost not an exaggeration. The actual number is more around 13 if you ignore Hagatha spells). I don't see the problem here,
I honestly stopped caring about your post the moment you tried sugar coating your favorite playstyle by generalizing both OTK and aggro playstyles as being detrimental to the game.
...yet you cared enough to post a reply. Interesting, tell me more.
While I don't inherently agree with all of what OP says, I do appreciate his attempt to spark a conversation. His post doesn't belong on the salt thread. Another one of the million other Token Druid is a problem thread, sure, but he's not being salty.
All I see here is the typical whining about a particular deck list actually being powerful. Which lots of lists right now are, by the way. Powerful decks have to exist, or else the game is boring as hell. Or was no one paying attention the last two months before rotation, after all the powerful decks got gutted? Most boring meta I've ever seen. This one is at least interesting.
Played it from 15-5. It's super strong, perhaps too strong. Then again it keeps bomb warrior in check...
On the 3 games I lost it was a combo of taunts and board clears. Just running board clears wasn't enough. Control shaman with a lot of clears + rain of toads seemed the only hard counter.
I had the EXACT same experience. I went from 11-4 and only lost 3... And one of them was the weird rain of toads healing rain deck. That's so weird lmao
But yes, back to the topic, it is very strong. Yes, there maybe should be a Nerf. However, give it time, and a new deck might rise up and counter it. The expansion isn't even a week old.
Don't let me develop the board in the early turns; force me to make trades I'm not happy about and you'll usually win or force me to make later plays I don't want to make (like Soul of the Forest on two minions or using a Savage Roar just to make trades and keep the board).
Fair play to you, some great advice here and there's no real need for you to offer it. Sadly, I imagine your post will be over looked. Mainly because whiners got to whine (I actually thought the op was pretty constructive, I'm not including their post in this) I haven't come up against too many token druid but if I do, I'll be taking your advice for sure.
Token rogues hard counter you when they get arcane explosions from the random spells and also copy your double spell +1 buff on the full board of their tokens.

OP not being salty is highly debatable in my opinion when he feels the need to compare a deck in a virtual cardgame to a horrible disease.
Remember when most people were mad that Blizzard nerfed ramp instead of UI and Plague and how they "killed" Druid. Not only Druid is the best class right now, it would straight up Tier S if Wild Growth and Nourish were not nerfed.
appareantly mech hunter/paladin and zoolock work fairly well vs token druid.
Tho more on point, it's pretty lame that they once again just pushed token druid more instead of pushing more archetype variety. I liked the idea of heal druid but it had so little good support. Hopefully next expansion they abandon token druid.

they wanted treants to work, it's an idea that they have been pushing since boomsday, hard and it's eventually came to fruition. I find that the other, older druid was more annoying with all the ramp and stuff and the hadronox one.
This one is great IMO and I couldn't be more happy with my investment into the class.
I know token druid has been around by name for a long time, but this deck does not resemble those old decks at all.
we have a true token druid that is very popular, has barely any minions.
then we have a mid range treant deck that is less token druid because it has a lot of minions. both of these decks play different, but they maintain some of the same core cards so I can see people being confused and just saying it's all token druid.
it's not though, there are two mid range druid archetypes right now.
I hate token druid. Because of him I forced to play control war with Geddon instead of trying some new archetypes.

I'm farming them with my control shaman

Token Druid is a cancer indeed. But it's still better than Face Hunter with only one card of the expansion in the deck (Unleash the Beast).
I had the EXACT same experience. I went from 11-4 and only lost 3... And one of them was the weird rain of toads healing rain deck. That's so weird lmao

I am playing mech paladin and it works well.
big taunts followed by Kangor’s Endless Army.
However if I get a bad start I can be destroyed. But that’s the case with almost every deck.

Gotta love the fanboy reactions.

Why u hav to be mad? is only card gaem.
Token druid is great. it's a fun deck, not too expensive, isn't too good that it can't be countered and I'm loving it.
Not to mention all the new card art is great and the happy colours are actually in turn making me a more happy person.
I usually play warlock and rogue and those guys are baddies... it's nice to be the goodie for once.
please don't sh*t on my sand castle.
