So it's the day after the newest expansion. The card pool for decks are very limited being we lost a full years worth of cards. Yesterday was a experimenting day in my opinion.. today starts the real grind to figure out the new meta decks and what will be viable in tournament formats. Me being a long time player of standard/wild I'm excited. Experimenting and deck building was always one of my favorite things to do in the game.
That brings me to my question... what decks have you been experimenting with? What's your favorite? Even if your science projects couldnt win, what decks did you have the most fun playing? What's your least favorite/boring decks you never want to play again? And finally, what decks do you think the pros will be playing so I know what I'm going against on ladder with all my troll theorycrafted decks?
Some background into my experiences were I spent a total of 10$ on this expansion, + the freebies and my gold I opened a total of 50 packs and received the new dr boom and jepetto. Here are some of my "experiments".. I've tried building a dragon priest, warrior and pally so far. Also a new zoo deck I've tried. All fun decks but after playing 10 games on the ladder I ended up editing my decks to more like what I'm getting destroyed against. My dragon bomb warrior quickly changed when I realized how op some of the other cards can be. I'm still missing ALOT of cards but dragon pally was fun, huge buffed dragons are quite satisfying but, needs some more cards to make the deck viable. Zoo is strong as well as token druid but, still need to test these 2 more (currently working ahhh!!)
Ok I'll shut up now, love to hear what your favorites/least favorites and opinions on best decks to come. See you all on the battlefield! GL HF GG
I love big minions. I will always love big minions. Big minion control is my favourite deck type ever. I also love stupid gimmek combos. Because of this my favourite decks of all time were anchient one summon decks. Close second to this was hand buff dragon paly in mean streets. A 5/12 scaled nightmare is a scary thing. I desperatly want a new anchient one type of minion. Please give it to me!

If you have a deck idea might as well go full ham on it.
So far the decks I've tried are bomb warrior (because I thought that it would be a fun meme, only to realize it was an actual deck), murloc shaman, a control shaman, silence priest, a control priest and a miracle mage. Out of all the decks, the one I've probably had the most fun with is the miracle mage (cough signature cough).

I don't have something witty about this deck, I just like it because Malygos is fun.
Demon Handlock. I missed playing Lord Jaraxxus, and new demon portal cards seem fun with Plot Twists. There are two Jumbo Imps there, to get it cheap enough and taunt them up with Sunfury, or Shadowflame and clear the board and etc. Rest is standard handlock tbh.
Control Shaman is soo much fun to play. Beats bomb warriors, getting Barista Lynchen value is great (quite challenging) and Shudderwock w/o its broken combo feels refreshing. Hero card is already strong, and I like the fact that Swampqueen Hagatha create horrors w/o any overload effects, like you can get a Rain of Toad w/o overload.
I love control/attrition decks... just outvalue the oponent to a degree where he just gives up because he cant do anything anymore... I loved the former Walletwarrior for example

I'm exactly the same. I love playing decks where your choices matter and it's not a case of good mulligan and then play on curve. With a lot of the combo stuff rotating out I'm really enjoying some of the control games I've been playing over the past day.

No, the horror also has overload if you teach it overload spells
My favorite decks are ones that just try to stop the opponent from doing whatever they are trying to do until they give up or you outvalue them. True control, but with an added flavor of really trying to piss the opponent off. Tech cards like Dirty Rat, for instance. Extra bonus if it is especially good at pissing off Hunters or whatever the cancer aggro deck of the month is.
My favorite deck for the past 6 months was a quest priest deck with Zola, Seance and Archbishop that literally every game went to fatigue (for the opponent). Nothing like making the opponent believe he has a chance but then healing to 40 again and again. Then I played a mirror match where both my opponent and I had 5 Zola's in hand, and for the first time I hit the 60-turn timer (I would have won eventually as I played the last Archbishop so opponent would fatigue before me). But man, that deck would ruin most any deck's afternoon (literally, the entire afternoon). Just wish each game didn't take 20 minutes or I would have gotten high in constructed.
Sadly, I'm not sure the tools are there right now in standard for such a control deck. Not enough board clears and good early taunts for any one control class to rely on a true control, outlast and outvalue deck. Seems like it's all going to be tempo, tempo, tempo now, which is fine. Maybe next expansion.
These are awesome responses! I forgot to add the wild factor in, this thread is for standard and wild not just 1. I also tried Murloc Shaman! That deck is so fun, the new murlocs in RoS are brokenn! All hail master Yogg!!
Today, after work I definitely want to try out rogue and some more control decks. In the 4 years I've been playing (March 15') control was always my speciality. Got to rank 4 in wild with control Reno lock and mage Reno lock.
control shaman! this has been my favorite deck since witchwood came out and we got hagatha and shudderwock. and now we have a reliable board clear and a second hagatha! and without deathknights, playing control feels very refreshing.
I have also been playing around with ZooLock with rafaam. rafaams scheme is way better than I enticipated. but you kind of have to have it turn one or two. the main problem is that the effect makes you want to play it as soon as possible, where as something like hagatha's scheme is very easy to hold on to.
and apparently I am also playing some whizbang because I was stupid enough to craft it!
I'm having fun with my own control dragon mage but bomb warrior is just unbeatable. Blizzard have no idea how to balance things and we are gonna have at least a month of solely bomb warrior + rogue meta. Great.
I just like to play various decks otherwise I get too bored. By the same logic I usually enjoy decks with some RNG card generation like Burgle Rogue because it makes the games less predictable.
I've really been enjoying playing my burgle rogue deck. It's got tempo, it's got value, it's got consistency, but it can still pull off miracles if RNGesus smiles on you. I also played a bit of bomb warrior, but it's exactly how I thought it would be; boring to play, boring to play against.

I spend some time adding mechs to secret paladin until it was good enough to get me to rank 5.
Then I switched to control mage, which is worse but definitely more fun. Kalecgos is already my favorite card in standard right now.
Murlocs, I cant help but smile everytime I play one
Reno mage with yogg has been nothing but a blast for me.

Control Warrior Mirror is my favourite match up.
Unbowed. Unbent. Unbroken.

Rejoice, for even in death, you have become children of Thanos.
Tempo mage, control warrior and miracle rogue are the favorites.
Control mage, control shaman and tempo rogue are close ones, control paladin sometimes.
