After the year of Raven ended, taking away all the cards from the year of the mammoth, a problem arises. With the rotation of all the KotFT Hero Cards (a.k.a. Death Knights) there are only three hero cards currently in standard:
Although this is the first day after the expansion and the meta is still unstable (so there are no significant statistics of cards Win Rates). We might see that these three classes (Shaman, Warrior and Hunter) might have the upper hand in win rates.
The issue:
Hunter has Zul'jin who has gotten support from cards like Unleash the Beast and Nine Lives, both as board fills and card advantages. After Zul'jin is played is almost game-over.
Warrior has gotten the 'Bomb' archetype, shuffle a few bombs (3) and after Dr. Boom, Mad Genius is in play all Boom Bots summoned from Blastmaster Boom's battlecry become rushers little shits that might clear your board, kill you, or do nothing significant.
From all three of the current Standard Hero-Cards Hagatha the Witch is perhaps the fairest of them all (unlike the Witch from Snow White). As it does not have an apparent synergy with the current Shaman direction (Zergs... I mean, Murlocs).
All the aforementioned hero cards, in the long run, might become unhealthier for the standard format.
Do you think those cards should be Hall of Famed? or Do you think new hero cards should be printed for the 6 remaining classes?
I agree with you, I find especially Dr. Boom quite unfair in a meta where all the infinite value generators are gone, but he can keep discovering one million mechs who are not only good on their own, but for some reason they even have rush. Dr. Boom might have been fair in a meta where more classes had these kinds of cards, but right now it feels unfair
Zul'jin is a ten mana spell that fills its owner's board, keep an AOE handy and you'll be fine...
Hagata is just RNG fiesta so as long as your Deck has a solid gameplan she shouldn't pose much of a threat...
Dr. Boom is certainly the hardest of them to counter but it's still RNG based and its Hero Power doesn't guarantee a Mech every turn so it doesn't generate infinite value... As much as against Hagata if your Deck has a solid gameplan you should have a fair chance of winning the game...

Although I agree with the RNG fiesta. There are a few issues related with not all classes having access to similar power level cards. And in particular Hero Cards give high advantages. In the current set, the game has slowed down a lot compared to when the Witchwood was released a year ago, now it looks like it might be more likely to arrive to turn 10.
Those cards are fun to play. But maybe not so much to play against.
Every time I play against Hunter, Shaman or Warrior, I ask myself, why am I playing a deck without hero card ??? it's so frustrating. Feels like you're playing a different game than the opponent. Of course with Genn and Baku rotated, people go to the other broken hero power options. They should have hall of famed EVERY SINGLE CARD that interacts with your hero power, and refrain from making new ones.
THey should've rotated them aswell like baku etc.. leaving them was a mistake.. maybe except zuljin because he doesn't have infinite value.. the hero power upgrade isn't really part of it's main power (compared to guldan, nobody is gonna play his "just to switch hero power"

Zul'jin is a 10 mana card that: Refills your hand. Fills your board. Destroy a couple of enemy minions.
Compare it with another 10 mana legendary card The Boom Reaver who only gives you another dude to interact with it. Or even with Kalecgos who in the best case scenario (on play) is a 4/12 body with either a 10 damage blast or a full board clear. Another 10 mana legendary card is Nozari, which at its best is a full heal. Neither of those cards wins the game by itself like Zul'jin does on play.
but this 3 are not even close to how powerful frozen throne DKs was (maybe not garrosh and thrall)
although im not seeing any problem with Zul'jin he dont have that much influence on your hero power he is just a good 10 drop not unfair and not unplayble
The expansion is not 24h old and you are talking about HoF-ing cards already. Keep cool guys, decks will get lots of finetunig and become stronger with time.
Come back in a month and we are talking about balance. It‘s just normal that stand alone strong cards dominate the meta on day 1

Especially when the 3 hero cards are already a known quantity; even though Zul'jin has only been out for three months people have way more experience building and playing decks based on him. Same goes for Hagatha and Dr. Boom, but with an even longer period between their release and now.

Hi guys,
After the year of Raven ended, taking away all the cards from the year of the mammoth, a problem arises. With the rotation of all the KotFT Hero Cards (a.k.a. Death Knights) there are only three hero cards currently in standard:
Hagatha the Witch
Dr. Boom, Mad Genius
Zul'jin

Those hero cards are fine. I think Blizz just need to nerf Big Priest.
You forgot Jaraxxus!
Lord Jaraxxus, unlike the hero cards, has a major Draw Back by setting your HP to 15.
I agree with you, I find especially Dr. Boom quite unfair in a meta where all the infinite value generators are gone, but he can keep discovering one million mechs who are not only good on their own, but for some reason they even have rush. Boom and hagatha are too good.
Zul'jin is a 10 mana card that:

What does zuljin have now? that new twinspell and animal companion. Where does nine lives fit all in this?
Saying hagatha fair but zuljin not is dumb.
agreed
