The most over powered card in the game. Only a Mage would consider it balanced.
I disagree. Gul'Dan is much worse.
Jaina is actually a very slow card to use initially and when an aggressive deck or sometimes another control deck that has pressured you enough has you down low on health you can't always play her and expect to live. Many times you have to be somewhat ahead on board and/or life to safely use considering that when you first play her she is a 9 mana gain 5 armor and summon a 3 attack lifesteal minion without rush. Compare that to the high swing, high value, and high tempo play of Gul'Dan.
The hero power now, is the epitome of a control card/playstyle. The creation of water eles is not just controlled by the mage player, but also the opponent as well. By the time the opponent has played Jaina you already know how many and what types of board clears & single target removal the mage has access to when creating a water ele. You generally know when it looks like you should play around Blizzard, or FS, or Meteor. A good player should also know how they should order their trades to prevent/minimize 1 health being left on any minion. The hero power itself really isn't overpowered, it just punishes bad plays for the aforementioned risks. Also, against other control decks that hardly play many minions at a time it forces the mage to use their removals inefficiently just to create a single water ele and once they're out of removal they have pretty much lost.
Compare that to Gul'Dan's hero power which always has a consistent effect with no requirements.
The problem isn't just the availability to 3 attack lifesteal minions (Mages have more than enough varied spells to make minions have 1 health), it's the fact they are freeze minions too, which makes them an immediate remove target for classes with weapons, and the Rogue and Druid hero powers become absolutely useless. I'm not saying they can make a 3/6 minion every turn.. but don't forget the fact they can target their own 1 health minions, and even the best players can't prevent Shimmering Tempest into hero power.
Goodbye sweet princess. I hope you'll find your way to wild well. You gave me a golden mage portrait and tons of water elementals. I never doubted you <3
It's a 9 mana play that doesn't affect the board. The hero power is largely useless against combo, and it takes a lot going right to find a situation where you can safely play it again aggro or midrange unless you've managed to get a Doomsayer off. And even then, your wellies can often be removed from hand before you stabilize with the lifesteal.
It's a very strong card, but putting on the same level as Deathstalker Rexxar or Ghoul Man seems a bit much to me. The latter two have both been staples in T1 decks. Has control Mage ever hit that level?
I very much believe that the Hero Card Power Standings are Rexxar, Jaina, and then Gul'dan. Gul'dan feels more powerful than it is because decks are built around it. Decks don't have to be built around Jaina, besides needing to live to turn 9. Gul'dan's lifesteal doesn't matter at full life, whereas water elementals even when the lifesteal is irrelevant can trade on board and freeze key enemy minions.
Wow, dont understand the hate. Unlike a lot of the other dks *cough*rexxar*cough*, jaina actually was a well balanced Dk that didnt create unlimited resources but also took a little brain usage to use. She could only be used in control mage and also made sense in that deck. You couldn't build an aggressive deck and just stick her in there like rexxar. Never mind that mage was never top tier like hunter and she was actually a great card for mage users. I'll miss her.
I agree with Nick... Jaina was balanced. Op is just a cry-baby, probably odd-paladin or Hunter player...
It is convenient that other Dk-s where a lot better... In the past months Rexxar ruled the meta, and in the star of KoC Guldan... And since Witchwood Gen and Baku...
Hello, OP here - I think we all have that deck or card: that white whale, that crux; that just affected us in ways we cannot forget. Lich Jaina did that for me. It was the one deck that I consistently lost against, and just did not have a good experience. Call me new, weak, not a good player – but that is just my opinion. I’m pretty sure I’m not a cry baby, nor am I adamantly opposed to mages, or hunters, or warlocks, or warriors, or whatever class. Just reflecting on this next expansion, and all that will change going forward; having Lich Jaina moved to wild just makes me smile.

Absolutely unfun card to play against. There was no ‘playing around’ mages myriad of removal; everything you put down would either be destroyed or turned into a water elemental, weapon classes are rendered borderline useless, and any deck that doesn’t either win the game by the time she plays FLJ, or is super anti fatigue control, is an instant loss. Goodbye and good riddance.
It's so beautiful... I cant wait. Seriously though because of a single card I played OTK decks or I just auto-conceded whenever I faced a mage, rather get the loss over with and queue into the next game than play a 20 min match and have all my work removed thanks to a single card.
DK Rexxar? Not a problem that was all a coin flip and I won most of them, DK Gul'dan? HA "o no he got all his minions back and I have another board clear saved up like a fucking smart person, whatever shall I do?"
It honestly baffles me that there are people that think Frost Bitch Jaina is "balanced", it scares me with what the dev's might do if these stand up individuals ever got a big enough voice............
Jaina was not balanced. Neither was Guldan. Rexxar must have sucked for control players, but hey, if you want to play safety net hearthstone then you gotta take the punches. Rexxar never meant much to me, lost a handful of games to it.
far more excited about aying goodbye to Keleseth, diamond spellstone and Eternal servitude
Couldn't agree more. Especially now with that new Archmage card, Priest has become even greater pest than Hunter.
I didn't find any of DK's too frustrating to play against, certainly not decks that had DK Jaina in it. DK Rexxar was fine and barely played until Dire Frenzy and Master's Call came into existence. Then it became a pest that I'm glad it's going away.

That deck was broken. Anyone who never witnessed the power should watch Surrender vs Stanudachi in the HCT Summer Championship 2017.

He does more than 100 damage with the hero power.

I hate her hero power.
I hate her emotes. ("You're shivering. Are you afraid?")
I hate everything about her.
You will not be missed, Frost Lich Jaina.

Is this a thread for Hunter mains? Legit question.
I've no clue what I'm doing...
No card is so disgusting that Reno was.
I am excited that'll I'll never have to hear the words "mushrooooooom powaaaah!" ever again.

ta na na na, ta na na na, hey, hey, hey, goodbye
Yay! Happy happy day! My most hated card. No other is even close tbh.
Hear hear! *applause*

In death, I exact my revenge!
Toki --> Forst Litch Jaina
Jaina was by far my fav Deathknight, she will be missed. Possibly my fav card from Frozen Throne.
