Well, creating whole new archetypes is hard - I think with the exception of obvious ones lot of people want to try right away, new archetypes will come eventually over time.
So, as always, I'll just try optimizing my current decks and will tinker with whatever I'll get untill my urge to craft something overcomes me.
Been having a great time playing around with theory crafting. Unlike the last couple of rotation expansions I don't see clear tier 1 and tier 0 decks moving forward that I have to worry about. This has let me come up with more ideas to try out and see how they go.
An example would be when WW launched I knew that I would need to have a deck that could beat Cubelock or it wouldn't be worth playing on ladder. Sure enough this eliminated half the decks I theory crafted because they stood no chance on a deck that was pretty much untouched by the rotation so plenty of people had the cards ready to go. I had not too much fun deck building there until we finally hit the nerf patch and a lot more became viable.
So right now I'm happy. If a super dominant deck takes over the ladder at launch I might lose that glow.
One thing for me:Hard to theory craft imo dunno the power level after rotation. I fireside opened my packs got jepetto. Really love the card Idea and wanna build around with the mechanic but i agree with you. I dont see an Idea which can be viable or just cant predict.
It's difficult for me to theorycraft because I know I'll only be opening about 80 packs, and I don't want to spend all my dust on decks that might turn out to be terrible. That being said, I would love to get the two druid legendaries. I don't know exactly what kind of deck they'll fit into, but they're the cards I'm most excited about.

Big advice I always give... don’t craft for 2 weeks after an expansion launch. Some cards that are hyped go garbage fast and overlooked cards become ‘must haves’. A few weeks is generally enough to figure this out.
I do agree that it's been less exciting theorycrafting for this set than others. I think that's because there's a lot of good support cards for archetypes but seemingly not as many build-arounds. I'm personally interested in bomb warrior, thief rogue (wild), pogo rogue, big warrior, big spells reno mage (wild) and silence priest (wild). Outside of that, nothing's really catching my eye this expansion.
have you figured out the new Warlock Otk deck yet that the devs said nobody would figure out for months after the expansion?
Mechatun + plot twist with the dollmaster kripp figured that out day -4
It works but you also have to make sure you have no creature over 2 life for the final combo to go off. That means you have to either kill the doll master after the plot twist or at the very least get it down to 2 life. You also need to hard play the 26 other cards before you can pull it off because you can't cheat out of that like you could with the Cataclysm combo. It certainly works but I think it's actually really hard to pull off compared to current Mecha'thun decks.
Wow, you can't think of any decks you want to build? For me there's something interesting in every class. I'm really interested in Bomb Warrior and Summoner Mage. I'll be crafting Kalecgos and Khadgar asap.
It's hard to theorycraft because you're still thinking in terms of Mammoth. Once Mammoth rotates there will be a whole different meta going on with decks competing for Tier 1. Nobody will know what are good tech cards, and how slow is too slow.
I'd pick 1 card you like, or unpacked, and try and think what kind of deck you want it to be.
I unpacked both Priest Legendary cards, so I'm going to see what will be left to put something strange together. I'll post my idea once I have it figured out.
You really have to put a deck together in Hearthstone with the last 2 expansions, then leave a few spots open to add new cards.
You can really go crazy because there are no DK's, no odd/even (that means no odd pally, mage, or even lock), and no mechathun decks.
Wall Priest and Gallery won't be as effective, and secret pally will be different.
So you can really make just about whatever you want and it might be good. Who knows.
I feel ya. Everyone and their mom has already theroycrafted a bomb warrior, a burgle rogue, a mecha'thunlock and a secret paladin. Building them is as easy as typing for "bomb" in the search bar
I prefer looking for deck concepts that are ahead of the curve and this time around, I'm not seeing anything that's already been done. In the previous expansions I thought, "Gonk is not a bad card; everyone is just using him wrong. I'll reach legend with my Gonk druid to prove it!" or "Boom-zooka is pretty bad, but I can make it work in a serious deck". This expansion it's, "X + Y seems like a cool combo. Oh, it loses to Z" and "I'd love to make V work, but it doesn't"
The expansion is also pretty bad news if you're a control or combo player. Combo hate cards means OTKs aren't going to work. New infinite value generators and support means control decks will still have auto lose matchups despite the OTK disruption
Of course, none of this is going to stop me from having fun playing bomb warrior or whatever meta decks there'll be. The expansion is only lacking purely from a deckbuilding perspective. There's a difference between enjoying gameplay and being satisfied deckbuilding
I'm super excited for Bomb Warrior. I'm guessing it will be like Odd Mage, having Aggro(maybe Midrange for Bomb Warrior) and Control variants. I'd like to experiment on both.
Secret Paladin looks promising. Will experiment if I get Rhyssa.
Silence Priest for sure ! Cheap Aggro!
No one's talking about it but I'll experiment on an Aggro Overload Shaman, it worked in early days of Rastakhan. Sludge Slurper looks like a great addition.
Meta is going to have a lot of Aggro early in the expansion so I'll just experiment on super Aggressive and super Control decks.

But some cards that seem interesting to me: Lifeweaver, Nine Lives, Kalecgos in Renomage, Dragon Speaker, Heistbaron Togwaggle, Walking Fountain, Omega Devastator.
honestly all the archmages is whats making me excited. Im loving vargorh right now and th deck refil chick looks very fun.
I miss a big spooky minion like mimrons head or anchient one tho. Those were by far my favourite
If you have a deck idea might as well go full ham on it.

I've already theorycrafted around 10 decks. I have know Idea what you are talking about it.
Tbh I’m more excited that desthknights are rotating. Means we’ll see a wider spectrum of decks not constrained by one or two ungodly good cards

I think it's because the cards from last year are pretty underwhelming so there's not a lot to add on to

I'm extremely curious to check mech hunter out, I just haven't come up with anything better than what I've seen on here and from players like Kibler

Legend with : S65 Freeze Mage, S57 Maly Gonk Druid, S57 "Okay" Shaman, S53 Boom-zooka Hunter, S53 Maly Tog Druid, S52 Wild Tog Druid ft.Blingtron, S50 Quest Rogue, S49 Dead Man's Warrior, S41 Wild Clown Fiesta Druid, S41 Hadronox Jade Druid, S40 Wild OTK Dragon Druid, S35 SMOrc Shaman, S33 Jade Druid, S22 Control Priest, S19 Control Priest
Honestly, I think that's only because we're not being guided in a specific direction with this set and rotation like we were with previous expansions.
Un'Goro had quests
Frozen Throne had DKs
Kobolds had weapons
Those sets (and Witchwood w/Genn & Baku) gave us more obvious build-around cards. With those cards going away, the decks to build are less obvious.
I'm super excited for Bomb Warrior. I'm guessing it will be like Odd Mage, having Aggro(maybe Midrange for Bomb Warrior) and Control variants. I'd like to experiment on both.

I enjoy.
