it's an example of why they need to give you more filters. You should be able to turn off the icons that spam. Turn off caps. mute people or disable all then enable a few. list of users in chat all with a box you can check or uncheck all.
setup advanced filters for if someone chats more than 3 times in 30 seconds automatically disable.
private rooms. users can setup their own private rooms with names. etc.
No. Im honestly curious why people do it and why :)
Why do people play a virtual children's card game?
Why do people waste hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars on said game?
Because they enjoy it, that's why.
Yeah I don't completely get that reasoning myself.
Over the many years I played WoW I participated in quite a number of new server level 1 chat spam sessions out of some amusement/ritual & boredom whenever my main servers went down, but it didn't exactly strike me as some superior endorphin-releasing entertainment.
Spamming one thing that most streamers don't even pay a huge amount of attention to, just for kicks and giggles doesn't really seem that entertaining, unless of course said spammers happen to be one of these millennials with the attention span of a pin.

Try explaining the concept of watching other people play videogames, rather than playing them yourself, to older people. It's the same thing.
Different people enjoy different things, it's what makes us human.

Try yo explain that concept to me (and I am young). Watching streams is most of the time one of the stupidiest timewasters of this century. And dont use the wildcard of 'but they enjoy it' because is the same concept as enjoying trash television.
The only time I have seen any meaning in Twitch chat was when Noxious played with the Ameno song - the chat went wild with waves of (emote)AMENO(emote) it was amazing to see.

To be honest I just spam the SMOrc emote cause I like it so fucking much: I love to see the chat becoming green all of a sudden.
For the rest, it's just people who are trying to troll/annoy the streamer: just ignore it (there's even the possibility to do so if I remember well)
