As with every expansion shaman gets great value cards but once again it will not be able to play them at their full potential. Why? It's simple. The class has no support whatsoever. And by no support I mean no defence.
1) Healing is meh. Healing rain was great and still not enough. The new spell is just too expensive to heal you effectively. I mean look at paladin. Look at druid this expansion and they even have taunts and armor! Have you noticed that shaman is the only hybrid class with no basic healing cards?
2) Taunts are spare and only come at the price of heavy overload. Same thing for removals, apart from Hex which was stupidly increased to 4 mana. You have to rely on neutrals. So no advantage compared to other classes.
3) No card draw. Is "put a random X card in your hand" card draw? No it isn't in a constructed value deck. You want your cards not a random one. This is only good in arena.
4) High cost minions. The best value minions are alway extremely expensive and come too late in play and we have no way to ramp up like druid or cheat them out like priest with 1/1 copies and resurrect or make small ones bigger with buffs like priest and paladin (apart from earthen might which is not worth the mana if it is not cast on an elemental).
5) Underwhelming hero power. It used to be a thing. Now it has lost all potential because all the synergies are gone. Moreover since it is rng based it is totally unreliable. It is the worst hero power of all classes.
6) Too much rng. I understand that rng is the concept of the class but at least give it some support. Again we get a rng legendary. How often are we going to be able to play it effectively? Make it smaller but cheaper or give it taunt or something. How can we play rng if we have no backup? Every match feels like a toss of a coin.
So again, I fear that the only available option is going to be some sort of aggro (with murlocs?), which I dislike. And yet, apart from the old days of the totem golem, rogue, hunter, paladin, druid outplay shaman big time at it.

Nah, don't even think about murloc shaman, gonna be garbage. All those murlocs are some kind of stupid control murlocs. there is not enough support.
The only decent shaman decks I see is aggro overload shaman, big shaman and maybe Malygos Shaman with Spirit of the Frog engine, since all the armor gain will be pretty much gone now, 30 damage otk will be viable enough.
As a Shaman one trick I was very disappointed to see "Hagatha's Murlocs" was what they were going for. After seeing what the other classes got I was so ready for some real synergy and fresh deckbuilding. It's like they don't know what to do of shaman... Well I guess that will save me some dust.
I am really sure that Muckmorpher is going to be meta-defining card! I think we just need to wait and see. Just Muckmorpher + Walking Fountain + Tunnel Blaster is good enough to carry you to the late game. Eureka will be played a lot too, think about Eureka + Tunner Blaster, then next turn you can play Tunner Blaster again, aggro can't deal with it!
Shaman is also my favorite class, tht being said, I think we will have fun playing after expansion release. I'm sure there will be some sort of control double threat Shaman with Malygos and the new Mega Windfury card. At least, I ll try to

What? The healingspell is almost exactly like Forbidden healing, like 10 mana 20 heal, pretty good.
And what should Paladin say,... no Dragons at all. And after all Shaman still have DK Hagatha.
It seems they are going for more aggro this time.
I agree, Shaman is my favorite class, got shafted big time. Murlocs and ridiculous slow value.

Control Shaman might be decent enough to see play... It all depends on what happens with the Meta.
