The real perk of this expansion is Dalaran, which is the best place ever designed by the Warcraft team in its history, and including some of their best characters, like Khadgar.
The rest sounds ok so far. Not the best I think, but very likely not the worst, not even close.
This is a great expansion for mage, druid, rogue, shaman, priest.
The other classes can skip this expansion almost entirely. Maybe some hope for warlock or paladin.
Not even close to the best expansion when I look at the cards one by one. But the way it can influence the game could lead to one of the best meta, most of the cards in RoS are value cards so far, and not many aggro or combo tools. I guess the big card dump can change a lot of things. It only takes a 1 mana 1/3 neutral to shape the meta.
The fact that design limitating cards like Baku and Genn, and OP staples like Death Knights cards are rotating out, makes this the best expansion, and im not even considering the cards that comes with it!
Also, to everyone thinking that the cards from this expansion aren't looking promising or straight up weak, remember that those cards are from the first expansion of the 'Year of the Dragon'. They're going to stay with us for a good while, and they will define limitations for like, a couple of years! Even the shittiest card (I'm looking at you, Dr. Boom's Scheme) may see some sick synergy in the future.
What will help the cards see play is the year of the mammoth expansions are rotating out and both genn and baku are being banished to the hall of fame. Some of the cards from the year of the raven expansions that were previously considered too weak to play in constructed may also now get a chance to shine. It is also going to feel very refreshing that we are going to have a meta with no frozen thrones deathknights or odd and even decks.
We are only going to have 4 expansions plus the basic and classic set to make decks from so its going to be very interesting how the meta looks. The last time we had such a limited pool of expansions in standard was during journey to ungoro and that meta was probably one of the best.
To me the only thing really exciting about this expansion is that new decks will be forced to be made after expansion after expansion that didn't change the meta at all.
I'd say the best past expansion, for me, was Old Gods. Remains to be seen how this one stacks up.
People are so short-sighted... How do somebody like "UUGH, THIS MECHANIC WAS IN HS BEFORE, RISEOFREPRINTSSS" think a card game works? There is much much less space for designers to move in, possibilities aren't endless. If they just threw everything they had in their sleeves right now, community would be amazed but later on cards would really be reprinted due to lack of new ideas. Balance, fellas, is the thing that keeps together every year, in each of them some new and some old mechanics. I hope people will finally get that.
I hope in the contrary. I hope to see people realizing how lazy this expansion is and how bad is the choice to use it now, after 3 bad expansions that made people to leave Hearthstone. This was a core expansion for 2 reasons:
1) The new year, so in standard we are forced to play it
2) Blizzard financial issues after the 3 previous expansions
So, this, in my opinion, it is a horrible reprinted expansion used in the worst period possible. A horrible choice.
Blizzard needed a perfect expansion now, we are very far from this point.
And with perfect I mean something totally "New" "Fresh" .
I’d cinsider this to be a good move as there are a lot of cards that could shape the meta but because there are a lot of them the meta could go anywhere. thus players have to either spend money or dust or quit the game so next step is looking for alternatives to heartstone (name three I’ll wait).
Btw there is going to be a lot of shenanigans possible next expansion in basically every class.

I understand the theme but I'm not really feeling it.
The most exciting expansion for me was Un'Goro (the reveals of the cards, getting to see quests for the first time ever).
Oh, man. Everyone is talking about death knights leaving, I'm just so happy standard will finally be free of quests! Second only to Baku, quests was probably the worst idea ever published in this game :'D

Whoops. Well I forgot and that pretty much sums up how powerful the year of the mammoth was. Because it has felt like forever that set of expansions have dominated standard. The year of the mammoth being gone from the meta will be a breath of fresh air.
I guess I forgot about Witchwood because when that set came out, hardly any of the cards even saw play because of how powerful the previous 3 sets were.
The best expansion, as far as impact and quality is concerned, is Kobolds and Catacombs. Not even close.
While other expansions had more balanced metas, or maybe brought more new decks to the table, or coincided with a rotation and thus had a better reception, Kobolds and Catacombs had over 60 cards that ended up in constructive decks. That's almost HALF of all cards in the set. All other expansions have like 35, maybe a bit over 40 good cards in their lifteime, and cards usually tend to get worse and forgotten over time. The second best is probably Naxxramas, with very few cards in it, but many of them so powerful people still use them today. Also, Kobolds had, in my opinion, about the best single-player content in the game.
Then again, no other set was nerfed as often as KnC (outside of Classic and Basic) and caused so many other nerfs. Still, I'd say the best expansion is the one that has the most influence on the game, and the least amount of pack fillers - one that is actually worth getting most of the cards from.
I doubt that even in Standard and even for the period till the next expansion, RoS will be as good as KnC. Does that mean it will be "bad" or "boring"? No. My favorite expansion is still Whispers of the Old Gods, even if by now, only about 15 cards of the set are still viable. It was a huge change for the game, it had a cool theme, it had many good cards at the time, the game felt fresh and the matches were mostly quite fun. As for RoS, I like quite a few of the new cards, and I am looking forward to try out new decks in Standard after months and months and months of the same cards.
There are a bunch of reused mechanics, or unoriginal themes, but honestly, I don't need these massive game changers every expansion and certainly none of those that push the game once again into crazy dimensions we had for the last 1.5 years since the release of KFT.

Why do you think that it is a good move the reprinting? People left Hearthstone because the game was bored. Is it less bored if you reprint stuffs?

I like it but can’t hide that all the RNG generators just ruin the flavour of competive play.
Plus I agree with what someone said, they could make much better designs instead of reusing the same old summon, copy, give +x/+x ecc ecc
Do u guys know if the pre-bundle will be avaliable after the release? I don't have money right now ;s
It is not and you are not losing anything by the way. I also will not pre-order.

Knight of the frozen throne of course, I still remember the feeling when I play hero cards. Crafted golden jaina and lich king.

as a wild player
all cards seems reprint and low power level i really dont like this expansion
but i can see why standard player like this expansion
So we have:
Heal druid,Summoning Mage,Discover hunter,Dragon pally,Control rogue,Wierd shaman,Bomb warrior,Infinite loop warlock,Ressurect priest
Looks good to me! Combos will have problems, aggro will have counters, control will have crazy endgames.Looking forword to play the new meta!
Oh, man. Everyone is talking about death knights leaving, I'm just so happy standard will finally be free of quests! Second only to Baku, quests was probably the worst idea ever published in this game :'D
Wotog and loe probably the best ones
i'm on the hype train too, but this can't be better than naxx...which i guess was/is technically an adventure so...we'll see...
there will never be another journey to ungoroooooooo tho =P
Rogue Legendaries are the best in RoS so far, very excited
