Actually the opposite for me. Nothing wrong with this expansion per se, but I recently started playing MTG Arena, and love it. I’m tired of the constant RNG and will spend money on the new MtG Expansion instead. I find it’s more skill based.
I guess the big question for me right now is, do we expect a post-rotation meta to be fun enough to be worth $50? Given how important those new cards will be to the meta after rotation, and how little gold I've accrued since I've been gone, I think I'd have to spend a bit on getting back into the game.
I tried MTG Arena, but felt like the paywalls to fun constructed play were extremely high, even by HS standards. That wouldn't necessarily matter, as I prefer limited formats, but literally every limited format is behind a paywall unless you do a week's worth of daily quests in constructed.
