Well, I play for a reason that may seem strange to other people: I actually enjoy the game and think it’s an excellent game as well. It has a lot of depth and variety which keeps things interesting and, despite of what a lot of people think, the game has a pretty high skill cap so there is always room to improve as a player. I like that. Of course there have been some tedious metas (like the mid range shaman meta a few years ago) but on the whole it’s been generally good
Another big plus for me is that I can play wherever I am on my phone or iPad. This is great because I travel a lot for work so I can queue up whenever I have some free time. I’m on vacation in Vietnam this week and no matter what time it is I can always get a game, even in Wild at 4am CET.
Ive never played WoW so I don’t care about the lore but the I like the characters and the art and the entire feel of the game. The sounds and overall production is tip top as well. It works for me and it’s the only game I play.
Edit: I’ve been playing since 2015. That’s the longest time a game has ever held my interest aside from Street Fighter II Champion Edition which I still love and it’s probably been over twenty years!
Edit 2: also the game is fun. I’ve had so many incredible games, crazy long control/value battles that have just been awesome regardless of whether or not I won. And some games where I somehow found a way to win when the situation looked absolutely hopeless. That to me is probably the main reason I keep coming back for more: HearthStone is an awesome game. Well made and a lot of fun to play.
I've only been playing since K&C so i haven't experienced the burnout just yet. I haven't spent a single dime on this game and the challenge to climb to Legend is probably what keeps me playing
stop lying, Zerek. you‘ve been playing since boomsday, be honest.
This is my 3rd time playing. I started in 2014 and go through times of playing obsessively and then a big break due to burn out. This is pretty bad because I miss like a year+ of cards but still.
There's things that annoy me about the game but it's definitely the best of its kind that I've found.
Experienced some burbout just when gvg came out and came back 7 months later.
Havent left since... Was 100% F2P until MSG and then started doing the prepurchase for every expansion as the time spent in the game justified the money spent and still does
Still? I think the game got much better over the years. I was F2P until GvG which really hooked me with all the cool fun stuff they made there. Later on the best mechanic of all time: Discover. Then Yogg, although he got severly nerfed, is amazing. Pretty much every expansion has something really cool or fun like Griftah in the last expansion, even though the rest was rather meh. That's the reason I still play. Even if they just add like a few fun cards it's still enough to really have fun, especially in wild. But of course it depends on why you play. I personally just love the fact that this game doesn't take itself too seriously and you can easily have a "clownfiesta" game to just screw around to have fun. Nothing else I checked out came even close to it. To me it seems most people want to be way too much tryhards. I'm glad HS doesn't focus too much on that.
I play because I enjoy it. Played since Pre Naxx and although I stopped for 6 months around the time of the MSoG Meta (Pirate Warrior helped my choice) I came back and haven't missed a set or a Meta yet.
It's the only game I really play with any regularity, aside from adding to my SNES Collection, and hitting Return To Castle Wolfenstein for the Nazi Murder Action.
So yeah. That I'm really looking forward to the Rotation. Losing 405 cards and gaining only 135 or so is really going to change things up.
I find it fun and it fits my lifestyle. It's outlasted pretty much every major card game and mobile game i've played(newest console i have is a 360 and I never have time to sit at the TV. Laptop can barely run sims 3 nevermind any high end game). been here since open beta, mostly 3 or so games a day at best but never taking any of those dreaded 'breaks'. just paid for $2 for a golden card in beta, and both of the classic pack deals that showed up.
There's nothing off about not enjoying something alot of others do. I can't really get into fps games and those are insane popular. The idea is to make sure whatever you ARE playing, you enjoy. if it's not hearthstone, then don't play it and let be the ones that do.
though I do get looking back at old games. though most of the ones I played aren't around anymore :/
It's on mobile, it's very engaging and the skill level is comfortable enough that I can just bring up my phone and play whenever I feel like. It has imo one of the best UIs in any game, the graphics are very nice, I don't play with sound very often but I love both the music and all the little voicelines from the cards and just the overall polish and feel of the game is top notch.
I am playing since WotOG and I think that this game is pretty fun. Before I have played it much more often, now only to do dailies and climb rank 5. I pretty much enjoy it, because it doesnt require any preparations in order to enjoy it. Just enter the game when you want and play as much as you want. Never butned from the game, cos it is just game. And I like warcraft universe. I am not that much fan of card games, but warcraft make it enjoyable for me. And the quality of the game is pretty high. We still enjoy to gather together and play it with friends. In the end of the meta it become boring, but anyway every 4 months something new is coming.
Been playing since sometime during or arou d koft I can't remember exactky because I'd never heard of the game until a drunken YouTube binge had the advert play and whilst I normally skip them, there was enough about it to intrigue me and finish watching it. When I saw it was on android I thought I'd give it a go.
It's very easy to play casually. I don't take the game particularly seriously but it's very slick and despite trying games like MtG and others, they never grabbed me. Always found the art work meh or the overall experience clunky.
I find hs very fun and easy to play. I've since put it on my laptop but play 99% of the time on my phone, usually whilst watching a film, series or taking some time out from work. I like the themes and overall idea, pretty much enjoy all the classes and their various interactions and have very little to say in terms of negative experiences. If I get a bit fed with it I break off for a month or 2 and check back in.
That is also another reason I like it, it's very easy to put down and go back to some time down the line.
Play it primarily because it's more casual and accessible than most games of its type, plus I'm just more invested in it by this point. I like playing strategy games against real opponents and I don't play a lot of computer games, maybe about 30-40mins on average a day, and I can easily get through a few games of Hearthstone in that time. I could probably get into stuff like MTG: Arena as well but I'm invested in Hearthstone now and I don't really need another game.
Plus, to be honest, it's not really that hard to be somewhat decent at Hearthstone. So considering I'm a fairly experienced Arena player (I mean, I'm not exceptional or anything but I'm good) I can still do pretty well in that game-mode without having to constantly sink loads of hours into the game. And, you know, being good at games is fun.
EDIT: Also I should say I think it's a good game. Well-polished, nice balance of planning and adapting to events/RNG, good touches of character throughout. There's a list of stuff they could improve but at its core it's still a very well-designed casual strategy game.

Missing lethal since June 2015.
i like the game i think the game is fun (obviously not in high ranks)
and i can play it on mobile
same reason I am still married, I haven't found anything better yet

I play other games, but no other card games. Mainly I just do dailies, sometimes some arena. It's still fun.
Been playing since month 3.
Experienced some burbout just when gvg came out and came back 7 months later.

I still like the game but the truth is.. I'm still playing because I spent way too much money and time.
Since it's a game designed to be played to the toilets, i only play when i'm there. And when i really have nothing to do.
And you're wasting time on internet forums for a game that's designed to be played in the toilets.
Perfect logic

God only knows..
Seems ok.

4/3/19 RIP Keith Flint. 😔

One does not simply walk into Mordor,
unless they want to be the best they can be.

It is a good mobile game and sometimes you need to kill some time waiting for the bus.
Obviously not money worth though.

As long as homebrewing gets new options also in Wild, and as long as Wild is alive as mode, i will keep playing it.
I think i will slowly stop if and when Wild viable decks for my main classes (Rogue, Druid, Mage) will be nearly crystallized against new releases.
