I rather play fun creative decks, it doesnt need to be tier 1 or 2. Ill only care about high ranks is if im a tournament level player otherwise screw that. 😊🎉
im not being paid to hit legend rank. What about you guys??? 🧐🧐
I usually make sure I hit rank 5 and then just chill with some fun decks! Trying to get my pally to 500 wins with Hakkar Pally ^^ So yeah, just enjoying the game!
If I have the time to spend, I try to hit at least rank 5 in order to get this sweet golden epic to my collection.
On the rare occasions I have more time to play in a month, I might as well try to push for legend again. But that doesn't happen too often. I like the push tho, cuz I feel it makes me a better player. Rarely got the time to do it tho :(.
So, to answer your question, yes, I try to get the highest possible rank every season, but with my play times - that doesn't mean a lot really :(.

Ranks don't mean anything to me. I normally hover between ranks 15 an 9 in both standard and wild (the gap between 9 and 5 is not friendly to the casual decks I play), but I don't really care where I end up at the end of each season.
I have more than enough of a collection to not be worried about grinding out every last bit of gold and dust, so I prefer not to spend any time trying to climb when I can have plenty of fun where I already am.
The game doesnt start for me until i get legend, thats when the fun starts and u face the better players, that is if u arent dumbster rank. So i try to rush to legend, i get bored quick, so i switch decks alot, so i could prolly do it quicker. At the start of a new expansion i take longer because i am trying things.
I play five Ranked games a month for my card-back, then leave it alone. I occasionally tell myself that Ranked is just another game-mode and I should give it a chance, but then the feeling fades and I go back to avoiding it. I'm already dealing with depression; I don't need the additional stress of trying to climb in Ranked.
Been playing since Vanilla, but I'm nowhere close to a golden hero...and probably never will.

I am getting bored of ranked play with its same decks again and again very quickly, so Arena is the mode which I enjoy. If I like some constructed deck I could play with it and reach that 5th rank to get that golden epic, but that's it, then I play Arena again.
ranks these days are not anything special...from 17 to 8 its almost the same,in rank 20 you find tier1 decks....so not really representative of skill.
i usually get to 5 on wild and 10 on standard.only exception is if any really sweet deck pops up in standard, like deathrattle hunter which i rode to rank 3 in january

best way to win is have your opponent give up and concede.
I'd rather make a deck that is fun, that I created and lose more than I win, than play some boring ass netdeck that feels like an Arena deck and it wins often.
I also want to say, if you net deck and climb ladder with it you are a scrub. You have zero skill in deck building, and you should feel sorry for yourself. You're copying some one else's homework and claiming it as your own and expecting a reward. When more and more scrubs play these netdecks you really start to see how bad those deck are and how easily they can be taken apart and beaten!

Pathetic. So when your mum uses a recipe for cooking, she should feel sorry for herself aswell? Do you call every football player a scrub who is not inventing his own shots?
This game is about fun. Ok, so you like to challenge yourself and build your own decks, fine. But most people just want to open the game, play a couple matches and leave again. Plus most of us have to think through how to spend our dust and not everyone can craft „the darkness“ for the memes.
Friendly reminder: You are not special because you won a game with your dragonsoul deck on rank 10. Wake up.
Kinda seems like I agree with the consensus. After finally making to Legend, the "thrill" of ranks just faded away. I will get to R5, and from there ill either play shitty "fun" decks that get smashed by all the "Me go face" tryhards, or focus on finishing up the last couple classes I am missing my golden hero on. Personally, I think they need to SIGNIFICANTLY increase the rewards for getting to Legend to make the grind worth it.

For me just only rank 5 each season, its not worth the effort benefit grind to legend.

rank 5 means something for me

I'd tell you rank doesn't mean anything to me, but the truth is I get salty when I lose few games in a row in teen ranks.
Normally I struggle to even do my dailies, I reach rank 5 less often than not. The thing is I lack nothing more than time.
Playing Hearthstone in German solely for Garrosh sounds. Sieg oder Tod!
Went through the grind for the legend cardback once but now I just go for rank 5 for the golden epics.

I play weird decks. Sure I want to win but I rarely have it in me to grind. Generally hit around rank 10ish
Ranks determine what kind of golden cards I'll get, and ranked wins get you closer to golden heroes if you don't have them yet.
Any other meaning is all in your head.

Rank 5 means golden epic for me, outside of that I just play whatever and see where I end up
