On the Shadows overview page, it mentions that we can either buy the next four wings (first is free) for $20 or gold. However, it doesn't say how much the wings will cost. Has the cost been published anywhere? My guess is 700 gold like previous adventures. I'd like to know before the pre-order ends as if it's 700 gold for each wing I'll just buy it and use my gold on packs but if it's quite a bit less, I'll just buy pre-order packs and spend my gold on the wings.
If you buy all 4 wings (first you get for free), you will spend either 2800 gold total or $20 and in the end you will get 15 RoS packs, 1 golden Classic pack, a golden copy of Zayl, Shadow Cloak and a card back.
If you subtract the cost of 15 packs, you basically pay either 1300 gold (or $0 - since bundle of 15 packs is $20 in shop) for all the rest. Many ppl expressed themselves that they would gladly pay 1k gold to be able to purchase golden packs in the past, so they kinda have the opportunity to do so this one time :)
I think however you look at it, it is a good deal in the end no matter what. Im not gonna go into the nuances of free PVE content, but less rewards vs paid PVE content, but more rewards, lets leave that for another time.
You have to substract the 15 packs you‘re getting so the adventure costs only a couple 100 gold.
When you‘re spending money on the game anyways though, cash is a „better“ deal
Well technically when comparing costs, you wouldn't subtract the 15 packs and other rewards as you get those whether you pay with cash or gold since it's the same reward either way. I'm going to spend money either way, just hadn't decided yet on whether it would be for the solo content or the pre-order. Looks like my money goes further buying the solo content though as I'm essentially paying $20 for what could have been 28 packs vs. paying $50 for 50 packs and a legendary. And if I feel like I need more I'll just buy that bundle with the arena run. Thanks for all the input everyone.
Whole thing is a BS scam to leave F2P's with not enough gold when the next expansion comes out to convert more paying customers.
Most people are going to dump the gold to get the packs/cards they need to craft decks right away, like day 1. and then what, another month later after you've settled into the meta, Blizz says "another 2800 plz for more packs but at twice usual cost, and we're going to drag this out for over a month". Give me a damn break.
If you're going to make an adventure make it a PROPER damn adventure where we get the actual god damn cards.
are you really going to give THEM ze mony? dude you can just purchase all the wings 700 gold each no problem stop allowing this kind of monetization
Okay... Just because you don't want to pay for it doesn't mean others don't have the right to. As if $20 is backbreaking to anyone who is employed. I'd rather spend an extra hour working than 2 hours a day grinding my 100 daily win gold.
I was not playing hs when all of the cool kids were and I don't get how the rewards for the adventures work. So do you have to complete all of the wings to get all of the rewards? I have a feeling that you do and that is kind of scary for someone like me who cant beat the solo content that is available right now. The difficulty lvl is crazy high. My concern is if I buy all wings with real money then am not able to beat all wings, I will feel like I wasted real money because I don't have access to rewards.

You get reward per wing. So you need to complete all wings to get all the rewards. This is a good question, though, regarding the difficulty of the content. I'm also personally waiting for it to come out and for someone else to play it first. I've beaten Karazhan, Naxxramas, and Dungeon Run myself. Would be nice if the difficulty is around that of the first two and the previous ones. Dungeon Run and Monster Hunt were difficult for me [Never tried to play Rumble Run, lulz].
I would actually prefer difficulty level of the latest expansions rather than the older ones. There is no replay value in Karazhan or Blackrock, and when I can obtain the same cards by buying them directly, paying a premium for an adventure I'll only want to do once is not worth it. It's also easier to control difficulty when not requiring player to use their own cards, otherwise it creates the very same situation the poster above mentioned dreading, where F2P player can't beat the boss because they're missing a key card.

700 gold each wing, that must be i little miss on the explanation

To jump in on this thread with a related question... will they release all wings at once, or one wing a week as they did in previous expansions?
Also, it comes out about one month after the main expansion releases right?
Mmmmmmm.... Shadowy thoughts.
Pretty sure will be Wing by wing, which is a torture, but helps people who buy the adventure with gold

I'm not dead yet!
As a noob, this was my concern as well...

Petition for Jaina's boobs to return please. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
