Like I said, Pirate Warrior is pretty strong, too. Sharkfin Fan enables Skycap'n Kragg for 1-3 mana. It may not be Tier 1, but it is definetly at least Tier 2. It's stronger than Pirogue, Odd Pala and Mech Hunter, but mostly an auto-loss against Even Shaman.
Bring ‘em on, the aGGro girls & boys enrich this game. Nothing is more satisfying than surviving their assault and then seeing them concede after turn 7
That is, what OP is talking about. Either winning fast, or conceding when they're out of gas. Those are fast games and perfectly fine to farm wins with.
your pirate warrior list seems pretty bad to be honest with ya
I agree, a healthy midrange meta is the ideal format. Neither overly aggro or overly control is fun. And with so much control right now, climbing the ladder is just not attractive at all.
I disagree, I blazed through ranks 10-1 and hit legend for the first time a few days ago. There was very little grind because so many of the meta decks have the same weaknesses.
It's about the balance. Too much aggro, you start to hate aggro and go control, too much control, you start to hate control and go aggro. I like playing both but the meta is aggro hunter so I am currently playing Big Spell Mage and Dragon/OTK priest. The question is, can Team 5 properly balance the playing field between aggro, midrange and control?
NOTHING pisses me off more then a Mecha’thun deck. Nothing. *bangs head against the wall*
Holy wrath DK paladin it is then!
Have fun with 4 mana equality xD beast hunter will eat you for breakfast.
I had a lot of fun with that actually! Memed arround with it in legend. (Also I ran Shrink Ray instead) it works wonders when you are facing a lot of control decks, like odd warrior, odd control mage. Beast hunter is a hard match up but not unbeatable.
But isn't the whole point of aggro decks is that the opponent doesn't get a choice in the matter? You come at them guns blazing and they either deal or get smoked. That's why people don't like aggro, the agro player decides how the game goes.
Well if you play a reactive deck you can't complain you don't get to decide in which direction the game goes amirite

Playrates can't really be balanced. If one deck is considered "the best" by winrate, according to sites like HSreplay, many people will rush to play it. You can make use of that and play a counter, until statistics prove you are on the right track, and the majority plays that instead. Balance should not be about popularity.
The bigger issue is that matchups have become more polarizing over the years, meaning that certain decks have a very high chance to win/lose against specific other decks. Actual balance would require that neither strategy promises very high winrates, not the fake balance of a rock-paper-scissors meta where your success depends on how many good matchups you get in a row. At least that might get fixed with the rotation of so many decisive cards.
There are face decks out there. They just don't have an absurd winrate like face hunter or aggro shaman used to have. Play odd hunter if you like that style, but don't expect to win every game.

Odd paladin? Even shaman? These are aggro decks to you guys? Wew
Also, please don't tell people to run Sharkfin fan in pirate warrior, thanks.

I would consider Odd Paladin borderline its clear it isnt as fast as pirate rogue/warrior and mech hunter in wild, but can still close out games very fast, Even Shaman is definitely a midrange deck though
My answer to aggro is usually: I play odd warrior and get over 90% winrate (fast due to opponent conceeding) or i go mill druid an loose over 90% within a minute but destroy control and combo. :-).
I miss aggro because I miss playing control decks. Playing control is just so frustrating now because every single opponent on ladder is Hunter and has deathstalker Rexxar. If they draw him early the card solos your entire deck, if they don't then you win. I miss when aggro versus control matchups were about running out of resources. When all your opponents have infinite value you can't win through attrition anymore.
Why not? It works. Cursed Blade is still a thing since the Fiery War Axe nerf and Ship's Cannon is totally bonkers with it. I would've understood if you told me not to advise people to use Skycap'n Kragg, but together with Sharkfin Fan they're the MVPs of the deck.
This is the list I'm using. Replacement for Kragg would be Spellbreaker.
Try it. It is really fast.
Proof of me making it to rank 5 with it:
Most people think, Sharkfin is just a 2/2 for 2. But a weapon in turn 1 makes him a 2/2 + Patches + a 1/1 for 2. Turn 3 Southsea Captain and your board is nothing to be messed with.
What are you talking about? I’m at Rank 3 right now and all I’ve been facing is aggro. Pirate Rogue/Kingsbane, Even Shaman, Odd Paladin. That’s basically it other than a random Big Priest or Even Warlock every once in a while.

I want a new title, but Flux won't let me have one,

This sounds dirty

Some gals don't like it long, but like it to the face. Sorry, the opening was there and I had to take it.
Agreed though. Currently, we are seeing a ton of control. Though to be fair, control rarely ever proliferates in the meta.
