This will be my first experience with a rotation. I don't play wild and have no desire to ever do so so I will be dusting all cards from the 3 expansions rotating out. Is there a way to do this efficiently or do I have to slog through 1 by 1?
No way to do it efficiently. That being said, I wouldn't mass disenchant everything that is rotating though. I consider myself to mainly be a standard player but it is still fun to go into wild and play with certain old cards.

I don't have something witty about this deck, I just like it because Malygos is fun.
There is no way you have to do 1 at a time. But before you mass dust please remEmber this.
Tavern brawl uses wild cards often so they can still be useful.
Arena will be using old expansions occasionally now, so gold cards are still useful there.
If you care about neither of these and know foe a fact you will NEVER play wild thengo ahead and dust. I regreted dusting many old expansion cards in the past

If you have a deck idea might as well go full ham on it.

Give Wild a chance, keep your collection and with a little more time in the game craft the more important cards to make Wild decks.
The problem with disenchant everything will rotates is the terrible ratio 4 for 1, and you will suffer the same problem every year, it is not rare the Standard meta become horrible sometimes like Shamanstone and Druidstone in a not much distant past, Wild is the way to go in this cases.
If you really decide to only play Standard for the future a least spend all the resources in classic until you complete that, the rotations will hurt less this way.

DO you need to actually own the cards for them to be playable in Arena? I didn't think that was the case.
You get golden cards in Arena if you have a golden version in your collection, so it is borderline relevant to hold on to golden cards even if you don't ever want to play wild.

If you own the card in gold, it will show up as gold when you play Arena.
Otherwise, no, you don't need to own it.
But dusting your cards is definitely a very, very bad idea. You will regret your decision.

Right but other than the gold cards looking cool I am not required to own all cards just to play in Arena right?
Right. If, like me, you don't care about cards "looking cool," then Arena is no reason to avoid dusting. Tavern Brawl is still worth considering, though.
First of all, as all people before me, have pointed out - do not dust the rotating cards, keep them, you never know - maybe in the future you will want to try Wild, but you will limit your options if you dust everything now (and you never know, which legendary will be "useful" in the future).
Second, there is no efficient way to dust cards, but if you don't know that already, I just wanted to point out, that you don't have to wait for the animation to end in order to dust the next copy of the card (the animation is the rotating of the card and a bit flashy thingie, when you press the Disenchant button) - you can spam the button, if you are sure you want to dust all your copies of that card (but please don't, you can thank us later).

Guys, some people just want to play standard meta decks, and for many reasons sometimes its hard to get the carda to do so... If playing standard meta decks is most important than having a big collection of cards to use on tavern brawls... WHY NOT? Once year of the raven came out, i disenchanted all cards from kraken, and i dont regret it even for a second. I knew what i was doing, and i was able to play with meta decks this whole year.
Mass-dusting only makes sense for excess cards, which have no function and usefullness. Actually even for these I would recommend to not mass-dust them, as there is always a chance that with a nerf, any excess card which gets nerfed will earn you 4x dust.
You should only punctually dust cards, when you actually need the dust for crafting a card you need. And the sequence then should be:
1) Excess cards
2) Gold cards in Wild (for which you have the corresponding regular cards)
3) Gold cards in Standard (for which you have the corresponing regular cards)
4) Really bad (Tier 4) regular cards in Wild
3) Really bad (Tier 4) regular cards in Standard
4) bad regular cards (Tier 3) in wild
5) bad regular cards (Tier 3) in standard
You get the point.
Then also, I would recommend not to craft cards in the first month of a new expansion which would require you to dust cards, as the meta is still settling and you don't really know if this is a Tier1 card.
To all people who say "I will never need wild cards since I will never play wild" I can say: Never say never. Nobody has a crystal ball and knows what is happening in the future. So it is always best to be prepared, and I believe and there is almost certainly a time where you would want to try wild, because standard cannot always be so super that there will never be the temptation :-)
Don't listen to all of these hoarders holding on to so much junk they'll never use and not having dust for new cards. What a wasted opportunity.
Keep in mind. To speed things up choose the set filter you will be dusting in your collection then just go to town. As soon as the screen is empty go on to the next set and keep going.
That's what my friends said last rotation.. so they disenchanted all their older cards, aka wild cards.. to this day they regret it. Dont disenchant good cards.. only crappy ones

Wild is a lot of fun!
Why limit yourself to one meta when you can have 2?
The might come a time for nostalgia and the return on investment is thus low that it isn't worth disenchanting everything

I am planning on just keeping the legendaries that are useful but the rest has to go! Bummer that there is no easy way to do this WTF

Just close your eyes and nuke your entire wild collection from orbit.
I usually dust what makes sense but I keep some wild cards for Tavern Brawls.

If you really want to dust cards, I highly suggest you exclusively dust the bad cards. Keep the good ones man, you will regret dusting them later on.

"I don't play wild" player here. DON'T DO IT! You will eventually regret it. Dust something like the commons from the sets, if anything.
I'll be dusting most of the cards also.
Don't listen to all of these hoarders holding on to so much junk they'll never use and not having dust for new cards. What a wasted opportunity.

Here's to having many new cards on day 1.
Cheers to you.
