But if I were to make an estimation.. I'd say between 2000-5000, unfortunately.
I wish I had never touched the game or at the very least remained F2P. But then again, I would have wasted my money on something else.. so perhaps spending it on HS was a decent choice.
I’d say around $300-$350. Definitely no more than the top end and potentially a little less. I’ve been playing since the release of WOTOG. I’d say for celebrating 3 years soon that’s not bad. I don’t really buy triple A releases anymore so I don’t mind about a hundred a year on here.

What you see right here are just golden cards
Oh my that is an expensive collection! If I were to win the lotto or somehow being a multimillionaire/billionaire, I would probably obtain an entire golden collection. And before you say I'm the type of winner that would be broke in a year, no I wouldn't. I'd buy packs with dividends earned from the winnings.
But yes, I'd create tier 10 decks in full gold just to mess with peoples minds.
Easily $500 by now. But you can’t just look at that number in a vacuum. $500 divided over 4 years of everyday entertainment (I literally have played at least once everyday since I started). Much better investment than blowing my money on booze or fancy dinners that are enjoyed once. As a wild player, my cards never lose value.
I looked at my transaction history at battle.net, I've spent $560 since closed beta, including the next expansion bundle. I spent the most during the KFT expansion for $120, because I want all of the hero card back then. Is it worth the 5 years of playing time since the beta? I think so.
Once I realised the expansion release cycle is a con to spike pack sales $0 (release broken cards and leave them on ladder while people rush to buy packs to get the easy-win cards... don't nerf till sales slow) - nothing spent in roughly the last 2 years. Got enough free gold saved to buy the next adventure and 30 packs of the new expansion - plus dust refunds on the fucked up odd/even shit rotating out (see ya huntards) I should be fine FTP indefinitely.
I'll seriously never give them another dollar whileever they omit autosquelch ... I get triggered by fucktards emoting during games and I too often forget to squelch.

Enjoying Americans winning in the Olympics is forbidden because it is political. A 14 plus page discussion of state-sponsored lawsuits against a multi-national corporation based on harassment, discrimination, and wrongful death allegations is apparently not political enough to raise an issue.
what i really want to make clear here, you don't need to buy any packs with real money. it's completely unnecessary, i rarely even play the game at all anymore. maybe earn 80 gold a day maximum and when i look at my collection - the card amount is the same or even more than from the expansion i bought money packs from. the only difference is + 3 to 5 legendaries more and a couple more epics. cards that don't see play regardless.
please just stop wasting your money on cards that have 0 real world value, just glorified pixels. thanks!
When I studied I was 100% free to play. Now some years later, I’m doing well for myself, and I want to give back to the game that I have enjoyed for so long. Pixels or physical objects, it doesn’t matter. Someone is providing goods/service, and I wish to support that product. Really is as simple as that.
Therefore, I have started getting welcome packs and the odd drop here and there. I do agree that you can free to play and do well, my first couple of legend runs were in my F2P days.
These threads always end up with discussion about F2P pride and judgemental F2P players. As always I will just say: "Good for you F2P players. Keep in mind that the game would die in an instant if no one pay - and some people, like me, have a decent amount of money and don't have time to farm gold every day".
£1200? Which over 5 years (since the first open release) or so is 0.64p per day. Pretty damn cheap I reckon, considering that I play it every day for around an hour on and off.
Sometimes longer, depends on what the Wife is up to... 😬
Probably about £400 since starting at KOFT expansion. Don’t regret it at all. Play every day and despite getting bored of metas I absolutely love the game still.
One tip, don’t get drunk and buy 40 packs... done that twice...
I stopped counting a very long time ago.

More or less $700-$900 I would say

These sure do add up. I've only been playing two months:
-Hearthstone Welcome Bundle of 10 Classic Packs + Classic Legendary Dragon Card
-Lunar New Year Bundle
-Rise of Shadows 50 Pack
$100.65
Every pre release since MSoG, so, $350? Yikes
$400+. Man, it really adds up after a while. But considering I've spent over 3000 hours on the game, it doesn't seem as bad.
When I first started playing about $200 ish.

$8,000 (not a typo)
I like gold cards, what can I say?

I don’t disagree with your conclusion, but where the hell do you live? Not familiar with a calendar with 500 days per year
Maybe around .....
