Obviously it's strong, mainly against lower attack minions. Such as Witchwood Grizzly or Mosh'Ogg Enforcer. The card is so good that it may even birth an aggro priest, because it will be able to remove every type of taunt. Along with it being able to destroy 4 attack minions, such as Malygos, Kalecgos or Ysera.
I don't see anyone running this card unless there is some insane 4 attack minion that is crushing the meta like Obsidian Statue
It doesn't have to be an answer OP 4 attack minion, just a strong 4 attack minion in a powerful midrange/tempo deck. Plenty of 4/4 spiders/thugs in rogue, 4/1 buffed tokens in some Odd Pally lists, & Obsidian Statues (as you mentioned) in priest.
Well it still a single target hard removal most of the time. CW now can field up to 8 single target hard removal in their deck and 4 strong AoE but no one can be sure if they will be good this expansion.

Removing a 4/4 with 4 mana isn't really a tempo gain. Notice how Shadow word death and pain are 3 mana and 2 mana and do more than their average mana cost? Only time will tell though, we need to see more cards.
I gotta agree with Kripp on this one. As a standalone card Forbidden Words is amazing because it's flexible removal. There are so many situations where it's useful. As to whether or not it will see a lot of play depends on what other cards Priest receives. They are losing a lot and their basic set is not strong, so the class depends on new things.
However, if Priest sees play will you include flexible removal? Yes. Of course.
He mentioned how 0 mana spells are extremely powerful, a point he again referred to when giving Lazul's Scheme 5 stars, but Forbidden cards are not true 0 mana cards, more like X mana. I'm not sure why he thinks this card is more powerful because it has a 0 in the card cost.
Because of Lyra and Auctioneer, 0 mana spells allow you to cycle for free. I believe priest now has more 0 mana spells than rogue.
But in the case of Forbidden words, I'm not sure you can dump it for 0 mana on any target, this would require a 0 atk minion on the board. So you are correct it is not truly a 0 mana spell for this cycling matter.

Also, how badly do you really want to cycle cards when you have 0 mana left?
I don't think it is. Forbidden flame was not played at all and this is quite similar. Spending a whole turn to remove one big does not seem that good.
Only one of us will be proven right, though. I hope it's you!
I see your point. However, this let's kill high health minions for less mana. E.g. Malygos can be killed for 4 mana. And it's not often we see minions played that has +10 attack, so this card should be able to kill just about anything that is played. Forbidden flame was weak to high health minions, and if you were to kill something you would probably have to spend all your mana. Priest can kill play something for 6 mana, and kill Malygos/Ysera/the new mage dragon etc.
And... if we see a combo Priest that they like to set on their ass all day and kill things. That was also why Psychic scream was such a powerhouse of a card in combo Priest.
Guess it's a bit better then forbidden flame, bacause it's in priest. Biggest downside of these cards was always timing, you couldn't play them when you wanted. Also 5 mana to kill magma rager :')
This card is only good against low attack minions, otherwise is huge tempo loss.
Not that impressed.
Flexible hard removal for Priest! One of Priest's historic weaknesses is situational removal, so this softens a class weakness.Talk to you in a couple of weeks, see if you're still not impressed.
This card is very strong. It's only 1 more mana compared to sw:pain to kill a 3 attack minion and it won't be a dead card in the middle-late game if no minions with less than 4 attack appear. This will be in EVERY Priest deck I'll make (if no shitty Keleseth/Baku/Reno/Genn restriction ruins my plans)
Also, how badly do you really want to cycle cards when you have 0 mana left?
The fringe application with auctioneer does work, but together with Lazul's scheme and playing this card last. You lower the attack and then you kill it with this, drawing you 2 cards, after whatever you could do more that turn. It's cute, could be good, will try, but won't get too excited about it beforehand.
The only thing this seems useful for is for getting rid of those awkward cards like Malygos or Ysera. It's more expensive than SW:P to get rid of a 3-attack minion (which is most 2 to 4 cost cards) and SW:Death is cheaper to remove anything over 4 health. Not saying it's a bad card in the slightest. It's a brilliant tech removal... for 4 health minions at least... For any other minions, it's badly costed and the downside is that it wastes your mana in the process, ending your go.

It's playable, but "insane"? Hardly...
The thing is that it can function as both the shadow words. While being expensive to be SW:D, it's better than having SW:P vs a Big dude. You exchange efficiency for flexibility.

Solid gameplan is more important

I think I'll hang fire on this one to be honest.
Besides, I take anything Kripp says with a pinch of salt. If you know what I mean.
Priest has some solid removal options anyway and until we see the rest of the cards it's pointless getting carried away.
4/3/19 RIP Keith Flint. 😔
I don't think it's insane in constructed but definitely better than Shadow Word: Pain.
Premium for arena though.
No need to be rude
Are you going to always be an ass?
Nope people have to do something very silly or cringy for me to be an ass :), so only in specific cases like this. Are you the Hearthpwn Police?
Kalecgos is that you?
