It's a game. It's fun. What emotions are there other than having fun and smiling?
Emotions as a result of unfairness, unbalanced meta, undiverse, polarized card design. Emotions of classes falling from ladder. Emotions skill is not the reason to win games. As you see typical fanboy, there are a lot similar emotions in this game beyond fun and smiling.

Meh... I control my emotions more than they control me. I think with my brain, not with my heart. Most people are so driven by sensations and emotions... They must suffer a lot and that puts a smile on my face. :)
If you were a German, born in the twenties of the 20th century, such a statement would qualify you for Hitlers SS.
I never liked Hitler, but thank you, Hooghout, I guess... :P
You're welcome, but think first before you spamm - buff - go face your comments. It is as mindless as aggro.
It's not, because playing mindless aggro is not fun. :)
So is your comment
Oh, c'mon Hooghout, your comments are well known here for making absolutely zero sense and probably all Hearhtpwners that know you would agree with me on that. You're not in a position to criticize anyone. Stop, please.

The way you talk, the way you try to "advice us", the way you try to state your opinion as a fact and you beliefs as the absolute truth just shows that you have some kind of disorder. You get joy out of people getting frustrated/emotional (you stated it before). I know that trolls usually do that, and yes this is the internet, but I still wonder why you do that on a forum like Hearthpwn.
May I ask for your personal background? Family, education, something similar?

I think Sherman is that rare internet species, more of a mschievious imp than a troll. I don't think one should take his comments too seriously. I did once but you get used to the style after awhile.

No, it's not your business. Grow up, learn to control your emotions and stop bashing people because they think different than you.

Grow up? I know how to control my emotions, I am an adult, I dont bash anyone. You are stating your opinions as facts. Getting joy out of people being angry, thats just sad. I doubt you have seen an university from the inside, youre lacking some basic education about psychology, personality and so on. The grow up comment just showed it to every one lol

Admittedly, I am quite bad at handling my emotions on HS. That's why I never play more than few matches every day, and much fewer in Ranked.
Losestreaks are what tilt me the most, quite obviously I guess. I have no problem with an even wr during my sessions. But I mean, it's not just losing, or losing badly, but losing continuously.
I have no particular wisdom to share, but in my personal experience, I calm down when I finally win a match after a lose-streak. At that point, I am content, and I can close the game without feeling a loser. One could analyse that as if I take things too seriously, and I quite agree. Mostly because I play with my homebrews, so I feel involved in the results as if it was a bad mark at school.
Contrarily to what most people suggest, I find it unacceptable to close the game right after a losestreak. It's just too frustrating to me. So I play more till I win one. Ofc, more losing in the process triggers me even further sometimes...
Sometimes I wonder if HS could be a fertile ground for statistical psychological studies, as well as for self-analysis.
Sound logic, faith in big numbers and faith in my ability as a player. If you're good and you're good with the deck, that 1 in 12 scenario that just lost you the game won't matter in a sea of 500+ games in a season with the deck. Also, understanding human nature. Generally people get way more upset at bad beats than excited by good outcomes.
Deck tracking also helps. I'll get triggered by a loss, then look over and see I'm still 47-21 with the deck. It helps to give you an "eh, well" feeling about bad beats.
I noticed nobody has said it so far, so i might as well offer my input.
Once you play too many games, you will pretty much see everything (within a reasonable pool of probable events) so you will eventually become dead inside. Then nothing shocks you. Opponent top decked 6 times in a row at your last match needed to get to legend? You just shrug it off and play again.
Back when i hadn't played that many games though, i would take a small break after 3 consecutive losses to clear my head, then i would resume.
How do you manage your emotions while playing Hearthstone?
The first thing I ask myself when I read questions like this is why does the person want to know?
I am going to assume you have a real hard time losing or dealing with losing and you want to see if you are abnormal or if everyone else is like you.
I find it really weird for anyone to even care about losing in a card game that is mostly decided by chance. What I do not understand is why anyone who doesn't depend on this game to make money gives two "effs" about it anyway.
Maybe you should try day-trading. start with 5k and see if you are good enough to double it in 3 months before you lose it all. Being upset about something you have nothing invested in except the few minutes you play the game is absurd to me.
I obtained the legend card back years ago. I lose all the time and I win all the time. I'm fast approaching 23K wins. I have played the game since closed beta and when it was released on mobile I have done the daily quest every day without fail. If the game were gone tomorrow I wouldn't care. I have nothing "invested" in this game other than the time spent playing it and that was already returned via the entertainment value I received from it. The game is nothing more than a "time-waster" and "self-entertainment" endeavor akin to watching a movie on your iPad while flying.
If you or anyone is having emotional issues losing in an online card game where the stakes are ZERO I would advise you to seek out and obtain some real-world mental health services because this points to a problem much bigger than a game with ZERO real-world implications. One thing I have noticed is the false sense of self-esteem and projection of intellect a lot of the community feels if they can obtain a certain ladder level number in this game. This is a serious problem and what is, I think, the reason for all the animosity and vitriol that comes from the community. The need to feel superior to another and pointing to a ranking number in a game to validate that feeling is a problem that needs to be addressed with a mental health professional asap before it ruins your life.
When that happens switch to casual mode. Complete a non win condition quest. Play decks that have fun plays even if you lose. And don’t feel you have to play. It’s just a game . If it’s not fun right now, do something else , something productive. Better yet only play when you are at the gym on bikes or ellipticalls so you have something to be happy about after regardless if you win or lose and spend the rest of your time in meaningful pursuits
At this point the only thing that tilts me is losing to Stonehill Defender because the card it gives my opponent is generally what they need to live or turn the game when I'm about to close it out. I sleep soundly knowing it is rotating soon and so is a good majority of the rng creation mechanics. Ever since Karazhan I have felt this impending doom of people winning the game because of gifted cards, and it still doesn't sit right with me. However, I just keep climbing and know that sometimes my draw rng is just as good.
I stopped caring long ago. never been so high up in ranks. thats how u play. i had problems by just q up a rank match feeling anxious about it etc. dont know when it hit me, but someday just overnight i stopped caring. now its a breeze. but i still take breaks on some weird losing streaks. we all know how blizzard operates in their matchmaking so when u feel its out of ur hands its time to stop and go play other games or watch a show etc. normally i only comeback the next day and voila wins return. fun huh?
i mean i dont care...so yeah….

Amusing how this interesting thread degraded to a playground for people who still think that a discussion on the Internet is worth your time.
I most certainly just lost mine ....

Hey, it's not my fault people are attacking me because they can't control their emotions. ;) Also, you must be very fun at parties, bro...

You... you're a smart person, dude. :)
What do you expect? You provoke and jump on every discussion ;) Just another „let-the-world-burn/I-don’t-care“ guy..
Also, i‘m very fun at parties and i sure like a propper discussion but not about emotional stability with strangers on the internet :)
Have a nice day

You're taking this too far, dude. Calm down.
