The current Tavern Brawl Battle of the Bans is quite addictive to me and inspired me to think if it is possible to let players on the ladder ban a few cards from encountering
If I hate Mecha'thun and King Togwaggle so much I could just add them to my banned list and I will not encounter the deck with these cards anymore The penalty could be starting health, if I banned 2 cards, my starting health will be deducted by 2-3(27-28) If I banned 3 cards in total my health will be greatly reduced ( like -5 to 25), and 3 cards should be the max. no.
Too difficult for newer players, and honestly changes the game for the worst imo. Would be funny to see the high ranked queue times for Odd/even decks. Lol
yeah i think its so much better to ban specefic class
its feel so stranage to ban cards u can just play a greedy control deck that win always vs control and ban some busted aggro cards that all aggro decks use and just beat every opponent
I wouldn't make the meta any betterhea, it would just shift the meta towards decks that don't rely on specific cards. You can bacn combo decks but not aggro/midrange decks
i think a much easier fix would be banning a class when you ladder, like in some tournaments.
Tournament bans are done in the old formats for strategic purposes. There is no room on ladder for cry babies who hate a certain deck/class/card/whatever.
- Choose a maximum of 2 cards, when you search for a game, the game will connect you with a player that doesn't include the 2 cards you chose, if the matchmaking took longer than usual, it will include the banned cards.
When I saw this weeks ban brawl I honestly assumed it’s something blizzard is considering as an alternative to the very unpopular “sideboard” idea they came up with. The ban could actually be a great thing for ladder and tournaments, however decks that rely on a single card like Mecha’thun as the win condition would become greatly gimped and unplayable. Still, I personally think decks that rely on one card whether it be Mecha’thun or a combo like Exodia Mage are usually the feelsbad kind of decks to play against and therefor should be hampered. Feelsbad decks are fun to play, but should never be ladder competitive, and thus I think the option to pick 1-3 cards to ban from a deck really would fix the game, make it more competitive and a lot less salty!

You can gut a large number of matchups by killing off 1-3 cards from them.
And that's the problem. You guys are thinking of it as "take out the decks I dislike". MOST people will use it as a gateway to easy street: play the strongest deck then gut the deck that most counters them. Play aggro and gut brawl. Play Kingsbane Pirate Rogue and gut weapon removal.
The health loss is nothing compared to that.
Ladder shouldn't be the place to tailor for 'for fun' situations. It's meant to be competitive. Th eissue is that it's the only regular constructed mode we have.
And that I can say that with a strait face while casual exists is exactly the point. We need a non-competitive format. Then we can do whatever is wanted to make it 'for fun'.

That's probably the worst idea.
