-)No new Minion Tribe, but losing the Elemental Tribe -)No new Minion Power, like Poisenous or Rush (which also was not really a new Mechanic) -)Lackys, a Mechanic which is quite simular as Spare Parts -)Twinspell, which is quite simular as Echo -)No Playable Heroes
Also with the 12 new Cards their seems no new Deck Archetype, but we are losing two Archetypes (Odd/even) not because of Rotation but because of Hall of Fame Movement. (1st Time in HS History)
So yeah, of course we will get new powerful cards. But at this Moment of Spoiler Season, there is no reason to be hyped at all.
Lackies are similar to spare parts? Which exactly? Besides that's 1 cost cards generated by another cards its totally different
Twinspell is echo for spells. What's wrong with that?
Heroes can be really problematic. I'm personally ok with that. Better no hero cards than play against something like DK(Anduin, Jaina, Rexxar and GulDan were op af at some point)
Losing Odd/even is the best what could happen to this game. No new archetype? OMEGA LUL
What if i tell you you need 30 cards in deck so you cant make a deck with 1 new card per class xddd
Knowing streamers they won’t add more than one card to deck. They can only think what can I put into exsisting decks that is why we never seen any new cards from expansion.
I am very scared about this expansion, like now, I am not happy at all. I know that it is very early to say that, but it is not even so early because we know how the expansion will be set.
1) No new hero playable, and I am very disappointed about that because Hunter, Shaman and warrior, even with the rotation, have the hero cards, so why the other classes haven't one? I personally expected the hero card playable for my favourite classes.
2) Lazy card design, Swampqueen Hagatha is another Kazakus more or less, Arch-Villain Rafaam is another Elise Starseeker more or less. The only new cool mechanics that we have are like now: Kalecgos and EVIL Miscreant. All the rest is very bored for me, even the twinspells and the upgrades each turn are something like yes, but ok not exciting.
3) Nothing really new in the game, we will even have to pay for the solo adventures. (After maybe 50€ or 80€ of pre-order)
4) This expansion will be the core of Hearthstone considering the huge rotation. Hearthstone in standard will be very very bored if this expansion will not be crazy good.
I love Hearthstone and I hope to not have to continue to play wild, because standard is bored, and fighting continuously against big Priests for other 4 months because the game will be too bored.
At the end, I expected much more from this expansion. I really hope to see something much better, something much more fresh, because otherwise, this expansion, will be another Boomsday or another Rastakhan.
Fell Free to dislike. But I think, that it is better for the game, when a consumer is disappointed and express his opinion than a consumer disappointed that leave the game without expressing the reasons.
directly the opposite. I love the theme, the trailers and the new solo content. I am pretty excited and i am playing since beta. I have the feeling it will be the best expansion ever.
Knowing streamers they won’t add more than one card to deck. They can only think what can I put into exsisting decks that is why we never seen any new cards from expansion.
Check out the threads about what classes/decks are losing out on this go around. The only deck I can think of that's not getting gutted in beast hunter, which isn't exactly in the best of spots. EVERY deck either requires rotated cards to maintain it's power (clone priest, most hunters, all mages, OTK paladin, ext) or needed Genn/Baku (Odd Paladin/Odd Rogue, Odd Warrior so on). The decks are worthless without them.
In past years, the top decks used the last expansion's cards as their core. Cube Warlock didn't lose much of anything in the last year. The year prior everyone was running Jade/Pirate from Mean Streets. This is why Rumble needed to avoid being too powerful.
So no, the decks that come to power now will either be old tier 4 decks rarely used that are enjoying the lowered power level or new creations.
I'll be honest, neither of them are pretty clear about the full instructions. Also neither talk about the matter of Commons.
To summarize:
For Common cards: Craft golden versions until you have 2 goldens. YES EVEN IF YOU HAVE REGULAR VERSIONS.
For non-commons you own; DO NOTHING.
For non-commons you don't own: craft golden versions.
After the HoF happens and you get your dust, disenchant the cards as you desire.
There
To note: even if you already own regular commons, if you craft a golden then disenchant it, you'll get 10 more dust than if you did nothing (50 instead of 40). No other rarity does this. Thus why there's no point doing it for other rarities.
Second note: If you keep the card golden after HoF you effectively get a Free Golden card. If you dust it, you'll essentally free dust compared to doing nothing (100 for rares, 400 for epics, 1600 for legendaries). Again if you already own the regular card, you won't gain any extra dust compared to doing nothing.
Nothing new?? Hagatha's battlecry is totally unprecedented and not like Kazakus' at all. Kalecgos is something new. Some things, like Rafaam's battlecry aren't new but it's cool because they're bringing back fun tidbits from way back. Twinspell is new. Lackeys are new. Schemes are something totally different than anything before. We're getting more mechs it would seem and mechs seeing play would be a change. The PVE is gonna be dungeon run-ish but still a very different experience. Arena's getting a major shakeup. Not to mention the whole meta is going out the window and a ton of new cards are going to see play.
So yeah, there's a LOT of newness. I am disappointed that there will be no new hero card though. I was hoping Mage would get one. Ideally Druid as well. It's not like they have to be OP. Make them more like Thrall and stay away from anything like Jaina/Guldan/Rexxar and we're totally fine!
No Mage hero card is a huge bummer. Could have been Rhonin! :(
Rhonin? oh Jesus what an opportunity lost. It would be so cool Rhonin as playable hero. Don't you are very disappointed when you think about that?
Well, thinking back to the last expansion only rather boring cards were revealed at first, but it was only a few cards revealed later on which I had quite a lot of fun with. One interesting card can make all the difference. So before we really saw all the cards we can't say much. Although it also depends on what you even play for and with. I play mainly wild and don't care so much about the standard rotation. And generally speaking some cards may feel similar, but they're still very unique and interesting on their own. In my opinion it's already better than last expansion. But yeah, I guess it depends on what you want to see in the game. But you have to remember there is only so much they can do. I think reusing some cool mechanics from the past is great. And it's always nice just to get some new cards we can play around with due to things like discover and random card generation. That alone keeps the game quite fresh. Most importantly I think the best many might have forgotten already is this new single-player content. At least it seems to me quite amazing even though it costs a bit. We'll have to see, but I'm already excited just for that.
We have seen 12!!!! cards. Why wont you wait for more? Would you die without complaining?
When people post things like this you need to tell them the answer.. Wait.. Asking them questions (especially ones you know the answer to already) only fuels the fire...
I definitely agree about Rafaam, very lazy design.
I dont think that it is lazy... I just think part of the team or maybe even all like an effect like this.. Every expansion we get some RNG effect.. Since the beginning.. I don't see it ever changing.. It's almost a part of Hearthstone... At least having a taunt on it gives it a chance... On a side note I don't particularly like those effects nor do I think that card is good...

I totally agree and see where you are coming from with all of this. Although I noticed the drop in quality since boomsday. Truth is, they ARE getting lazier. And we should be calling them out for it instead of just gobbling up their lousy work. Arch villain rafaam is such a fucking joke i couldn’t believe it. All It is is just the damn golden monkey! AGAIN!!!!!!! (3rd time people). The developers are clearly telling us they don’t care about putting much thought into these sets of content cause they know we will just buy it anyway. I would hope that some wouldn’t though. Oh well, I am glad somebody else also has my point of view.

The need for an Rng mechanic has nothing relevant about justifying why arch villain rafaam literally has THE EXACT SAME text as another card copied word for word. There is no excuse. This is just laziness. That is all it is.
I am aggree that Rafaam design is a lazy, but ironically this design suits Warlock. Controlock know for its flexibility to include a lot of tech card because they dont need any space for card draws. They also hoard alot of removals that maybe not useful in a paticular matchup. The golden monkey style card really address these problems by turning these cards into an usually good cards. And Warlock is the worst fatigue class so they can not take advantage of Golden monkey like warrior did.
I left Hearthstone for those exact reasons. Hearthstone never changes. Its the same again and again and again.
The cards look new but they do exactly the same as older cards. My account still has 40.000 dust and I feel no desire to craft Kazakus 2.0.
Introduce activated abilities for minions, achievements, skins that are difficult to optain, tournament mode, a rotating core set, new card types etc etc.
I definitely agree about Rafaam, very lazy design.

I didn't mean to justify... I love the game... That card is dissapointing... I just feel like the game has always had some horrible cards in a set... Does it matter if they have the same or similar effect as an old card... IDK... Very possible it is laziness... Part of me wants to believe they just think it's cool

no it is not laziness. it is just ONE card that need to be in the game. The only mistake Blizzard has done here is they didn't put the Golden Monkey card to the CLASSIC set. This card needs to stay in game because of joyment issues. Here is why it needs to be in game always, I am quoting one of my posts above;
I don't think that they are lazy designs. as I say one of the other threads here They are keep making cards like Golden Monkey because playerbase likes this. Especially f2p players. They don't have so much legendaries and they want to see those legendaries in play. They can see almost all of the legendaries on act with a single card so they keep that meme alive.
I remember how my flatmate loves Prince Malchezaar. He threw that card to all of his decks. Same for Kazakus. It feels like you are creating your own spell for your beloved game to release.
They know that so they are using this to impress playerbase. This is why they announce those cards firstly.
Community and Playerbase are different things and playerbase is more crowded than community and most of them are f2p players. They need to impress playerbase too.
The effect suits well with Rafaam also but Oh, if you would ask what would be cooler with Arch-Villain Rafaam. The answer is that, if Rafaam changes all of the cards with legendaries which are mummy versions of them but they need to make all of the mummy legendaries in some point which means 92 - "NINETYTWO" - mummy legendaries for standard and more amount for wild. So that MLO (Mummy Legendaries Overhaul) would make team 5 not lazy, lol.
Edit: Wow, I need to make that MLO for myself as a custom set. It sounded cool to me really. HAHHA.

One does not simply walk into Mordor,
unless they want to be the best they can be.
So much loving the new cards,
We have only seen OTK and control cards giving us many tools against agro! Wich is very very good.
The twinspells and lackeys mechanics are very good. Because certain decks require less core cards to function.
This gives us more room for putting other cards in our decks beside the core cards we would normally need.

You are blaming the team with laziness for just one card although they made a cool theme for the expansion, made cards like Kalecgos, Swampqueen Hagatha , Lazul's Scheme, Forbidden Words and Lackeys.
You are looking at Arch-Villain Rafaam from a wrong aspect.
