12 cards have been revealed so far so it's a bit too early to judge the expansion as "another boomsday" imo. I understand that nothing new is being brought to the game for what concernes the constructed game mode but let's remember that arena is getting rotating sets and we are going to get another solo adventure (naxx and brm like, not similar to the dungeon runs) which can be acquired via in game gold!
I'm not gonna lie i hoped for a new constructed game mode too but maybe the rotation will solve most of the ladder problems and will get me back to standard.
Also after two years of death knights i'm really happy to see that no new hero cards are being added in rise of shadows, they're so toxic for the game and everyone understood that playing against rexxar of frost lich jaina.
So far the new set has no synergy inbetween mechs and trolls, which were introduced in the last 2 expansions. Like something was planned for them butt suddenly something changed and we are going into a different direction.
And, i too would like to see a playable hero for the other classes. take warlock for instance - with guldan going in wild, this class has no late play deck. im not saying the 3 remaining are game changer, but they can still change the late game in your favour.

No synergy? How in the world isn't the new Hunter Legendary synergizing with mechs. And as for trolls, synergy with trolls? Was that a race or mechanic and I am not playing the same game? (Synergy with loas you mean? Actually the new rogue card that gives you lackeys synergizes well with the Shark rogue Spirit)
People, you need to think before you judge. Twinspells,Schemes, Lackeys, (Swampqueen Hagatha with "Teach" mechanic") and so on, are new mechanics. If you don't like them, it's ok. But as other told before, judge after more cards have been revealed, or if you are totally pessimistic about the game just delete it. Provide constructive argument , not whining and salty threads. There is one salt thread actually that you can all join, just ask Kaladin to show you the way
-)No new Minion Tribe, but losing the Elemental Tribe -)No new Minion Power, like Poisenous or Rush (which also was not really a new Mechanic) -)Lackys, a Mechanic which is quite simular as Spare Parts -)Twinspell, which is quite simular as Echo -)No Playable Heroes
Also with the 12 new Cards their seems no new Deck Archetype, but we are losing two Archetypes (Odd/even) not because of Rotation but because of Hall of Fame Movement. (1st Time in HS History)
So yeah, of course we will get new powerful cards. But at this Moment of Spoiler Season, there is no reason to be hyped at all.
With the Hero card I agree. I was so looking forward to getting a new rogue hero card eventually.
The cards so far look interesting. I like some more of the shuffle tricks in rogue and some more of the stat manipulation in priest. And since I have seen so few cards of Rise of Shadows Ill see and wait to draw a conclusion.
But because the previous expansions felt so expensive I am keeping my wallet shut this time (trying at least :) ). The last expansions were so expensive for the amount of cool cards I felt I got from it. Just disappointing. I hope this expansion will have more value and cool playable stuff in it. Also I hope that the rotation brings some cards from previous expansion to a level where they can somewhat be played. Then my investment in the previous expansion might get me some more fun!
There is no way that this expac could be another boomsday or rumble because the problem with these two was not themselves, but the year of mammoth sets. Yall people are complaining about lack of synergys with year of Raven cards with is a) a lie (shudder + swampqueen hagatha, mechs + oblivitron) and b) idiot, because just 12 cards were revealed, so plz calm down and enjoy the reveal season first, then you can talk that bullshit with property
I'd rather have solid boring cards than another oh-so-creative solitaire Mechathun. I also welcome no new hero cards. Sick and tired of one card winning the game so you can put whatever else in the deck approach. Here's Mechathun and couple of activators, everything else is draw and stall. Here's my Gul'dan, he'll overpower everything eventually, so I'll just put answers to everything in the game in my deck.

That's a really, REALLY good thing! We don't want another dull expansion that revolves around mechs and trolls. We had Boomsday for that. It's time for something new to add to the mix otherwise we'll have an almost identical expansion to the last one. I'd personally like to not see a single new troll or mech in the next two expansions. Bring on more things like beasts, totems, dragons, etc.

So yeah, of course we will get new powerful cards. But at this Moment of Spoiler Season, there is no reason to be hyped at all.
1st time in HS history for what? Lots have cards have been moved into the Hall of Fame. There's 13 other cards there... It's usually where Classic and Basic cards go to die, but they also had it in mind for broken Standard cards that are going to mess up their meta. They didn't want to spend another year walking on eggshells to decide what mana cost to make a cards, worrying that making a card 1 mana off would break the meta. I'm really happy to see these cards go.... That's guaranteed enough dust to make 2 new legendaries, which is great. Odd/Even was a cancer mechanic. You could only use 1 deck from a class with it, and everyone used the same cards, because when you restrict the cards that much, only a select remaining will have viability. Good riddance.
This entire thread is utterly ridiculous. If any of you find yourself lamenting the lack of new mechanics, unique cards (what?) or synergies etc. then stop and step away from the keyboard. Criticism is fine, criticism when we've seen LESS THAN 10% of an expansion is not fine, it's ignorant and ridiculous.
1. The developers openly said they wanted to move away from hero cards. They are too consistently built around and forced. After the DK issues in the latest meta they realized it wasn’t healthy for the future of HS.
2. OMEGALUL... there are still over 120 cards to be released. Calm down child.
3. There is ZERO incentive to play the solo content this time. It is for solo content players to decide if they would like to do something other than ladder or arena all day. Isn’t it nice that free to play isn’t missing anything? The payout isn’t worth it and no cards are locked behind it (save a golden uncraftable legendary?). This is the best option of solo content we have ever gotten.
4. Do you walk outside each day and fear you’ll get into a car accident? There is still too little info out to be “afraid” of the expansion. From what little info we have, the changes the developers are making seem exciting and refreshing. Optional long solo content and rotating arena? Sign me the hell up!
We get a couple of new mechanic (Schemes for instance), and for the mechanics that we have already seen, the devs have just refreshed them which is very cool. I loved both Kazakus and Elise. Pure value. Pure control meta. Simply because he has the urge to complain about something to feel smart we shouldnt ever see old mechanics and cool stuff brought back from the past?
As of wild, i can recall i encountered like 5 big priests on my journey to legend.
People please don't listen to these guys that are trying to spoil the fun. This expansion so far looks amazing and might be one of the very best expansions ever. My favourite expansion was Wotog and this is the closest we are gonna get to that meta.

Spell Hunter= Midrange/control deck (it has a ton of reactive cards).
Control Dragon Priest=control with combo finisher.
Wall Priest= slow midrange but so slow it could be called control.
Big spell (odd) Mage= control with "infinite value"
Cube Warlock=control + combo.
Toggwaggle Druid=mostly combo, but until the combo it removes everything you play, sounds like control to me.
This meta has a lot of control/slow decks, yes the TOP decks are msotly aggressive.
What you probably call control decks are OG fatigue decks like fatigue warrior/mage not every control deck wants to go to fatigue. people like to whine about aggro all the time... of course aggro will on average have a better WR than control/slow decks since an aggressive opener is more consistant than a combo finisher, or a game that has both sides actually in the game.
God another one of post. This guy probably will be one of morons typing dust on every card reveald. Like everyone has said there has been 11 cards revealed and you’re already bitching about it go to wild if u think this is trash let us enjoy a fresh new meta new mechanics new pve content new arena. And you can go play with all boring broken crap and playing the same person in wild over and over again.
You're right. You should just give up now and find something new to play. Things will never get better, regardless of how much new stuff they continually inject into the game to keep it fresh and exciting. Everything is boring. The world is coming to an end! All we have left to look forward to is horrendous franchise reboots and shoddy game designs. Now where's my hangman's noose....?
The world is coming to an end though. But not hearthstone, I agree ;)
I really don't understand why some of the community generalising the fact like "boomsday and rastakhan couldn't impact the meta so they were bad expansions and community didn't like them".
No they were not bad.
So much people enjoys to play those expansions' cards. I have seen so much meme decks in my games. Met so much people in game who says that they liked those low-power-level cards.
It doesn't mean expansions are bad because some streamers or reditters says so. I know that so much people just "follows" their opinions and can't create their own opinions (please don't offend, i am not pointing you here) but this doesn't mean expansions are bad.
at some point, this is why netdecking is a bad thing for players. Yeah, I know that if there is not netdecking , the playerbase will balance itself and decks in meta will be the same in time as if there is netdecking but it will takes more time to stabilize. Anyways, that's a different topic.
What I am trying to say is, not everyone thinks like you think about boomsday and rastakhan.
And for my opinions about new expansion through your opinions is like;
1- No new playable hero;
That's one of my worries too but i don't think that they should continue to spam 1 hero for every new expansion. KotFT's way of releasing heroes are better than 1 for per expansions. I think they realised that so they are keeping that for future expansions and rotations. I'm sure of that they will bring new heroes in future with a rotation or expansion but with one expansion or 1 rotation not like they did in witchwood. I think that was a mistake.
2- Lazy card design
I don't think that they are lazy designs. as I say one of the other threads here They are keep making cards like Golden Monkey because playerbase likes this. Especially f2p players. They don't have so much legendaries and they want to see those legendaries in play. They can see almost all of the legendaries on act with a single card so they keep that meme alive.
I remember how my flatmate loves Prince Malchezaar. He threw that card to all of his decks. Same for Kazakus. It feels like you are creating your own spell for your beloved game to release.
They know that so they are using this to impress playerbase. This is why they announce those cards firstly.
Community and Playerbase are different things and playerbase is more crowded than community and most of them are f2p players. They need to impress playerbase too.
3- Nothing really new in the game, we will even have to pay for the solo adventures. (After maybe 50€ or 80€ of pre-order)
No you don't have to pay for real money. You can buy those adventures with in-game currency and now adventures will reward players. Unlike you, I have been appreciated to see that they decided to make adventures like this. I am still playing even Naxxramas' wings. The only solo content that i don't like was Boomsday one because it was a one-time adventure.
So as you can see some people may like the changes unlike you and that explains why they decided to change something. Also they can't satisfy all of the people normally so that's normal that you dislike some changes and i like for example.
4 - It will be so "BORING" if Rise of Shadows won't be crazy good.
This one was your worst argument in my opinion. If Rise of Shadows won't be crazy good, it means that it is a better situation for boomsday and rastakhan and I think this is a good thing in my opinion. That means we can see some of good designs which couldn't take a place in nowadays meta in the Year of the Dragon meta.
Before every rotation, most of the community (not the playerbase) thinks that new meta will be "boring" because we are losing 400+ cards but after the rotation everyone likes the change because it feels more fresh.
I can understand your worries, Most of your worries are coming from losing "Hero" cards which is obvious and can easily understand from your post.
No worries; Changing and diversity are good things. Calm down and face that you are losing your hero cards. Breath deep.
Rotations are always fun. Rotation means everything in meta will change and this rotation will change more than older ones. This rotation is one of the most hyping one for me. I can't wait the day that it hits.
So unlike you, i am very grateful for what I see for this expansion. (for now)
-)No new Minion Tribe, but losing the Elemental Tribe -)No new Minion Power, like Poisenous or Rush (which also was not really a new Mechanic) -)Lackys, a Mechanic which is quite simular as Spare Parts -)Twinspell, which is quite simular as Echo -)No Playable Heroes

So yeah, of course we will get new powerful cards. But at this Moment of Spoiler Season, there is no reason to be hyped at all.
sorry, I know that my post became so long but I couldn't jump this one.
- We are not losing a tribe. Elementals are still here. They are keep producing elementals and the tribe was not for only Un'goro. Like Mechs are not for GvG only
- Minion powers have a name, Keywords and keywords are not limited to minions only but yeah I can understand what you are trying to say. Naxx, GvG, BM, WotOG, MSoG and Karazhan didn't add new keywords aswell. Some of them were very impactful on the meta btw.
-Spare Parts were not minions. Spare parts were just little buffs which aren't like Lackeys. Lackeys have more and better impact on play. Stop speaking with streamers' words.
-Twinspell which is NOT quite similar as Echo. Echo spells are not so powerful spells which you can use them in only 1 "ONE!" turn. You can hold the extra copy of twinspell in your hand all game long and they are normal spells. Not overcosted ones like echo spells.
-the only part that you are right. Guess why ? Because it is not an opinion. It is a fact.
You guys are only using streamers', youtubers' words and use the crowd's tongue which is a shame. You are like copy/paste. Bring your own opinions then we can communicate like normal humans.
Memedeck-seeker. Always tries to build new decks. Hates tournements, streamers, netdecks and poor-o players. ah, but a tournement mode could be great !!!
Op is mad because his favorite class doesntget a hero card and this is the 2nd thread he created to vent his frustration on the matter. Just disregard this whole mess of a thread...
Too early to judge the new set.
And hopefully they fix goddam Big Priest with the post-release nerf patch.

Not sure if hyped yet.
