I was playing in wild when I saw something that looked very familiar. The sarcophagus on the League of Explorers board had a font of text that looks exactly like the letters on the bottom of the 2nd xpac this year! They’re even the same color, but reversed with gold and teal! The blue water on the teaser image could even symbolize the river that runs though the middle of the zone as shown on the map. The sarcophagus is from Uldum and has a mummy inside among other things like snakes and a skeleton. Could this be the verification of the next expansion after Rise of Shadows? Thoughts and comments below.
Like the one in Northrend? That would be super dope! Any titan ruins themed xpac I'm down for! I think it's certain that it will be some titan ruin, but which one is the mystery. Originally I thought it was the one under Vale of Eternal Blossoms.
Well, Dave Kosak described this year's expansions in the announcement video with "a Hearthstone trilogy that will take us from flying cities to ancient depths" so any kind of Titan stuff would probably fit the bill.
Have predictions based on the first image ever been accurate before?
Yes, depending on how accurate you want the prediction to be. Pretty much everyone knew the third expansion of Year of the Raven would be Troll-related; many people correctly predicted that the second expansion would take place in Netherstorm; people were talking about the first expansion of Year of the Dragon being Dalaran-related as soon as we saw the teaser (although to be fair, any purple and people immediately guess Dalaran).
I feel like a lot of people also predicted Northrend and Un'Goro based only on the first image, but that was long enough ago that I might be misremembering. I know that a lot of people incorrectly guessed KFT as being more magic-related (Dalaran again, Kirin Tor in general, stuff like that), so who knows.
Quite frankly all this WoW lore is for freaks and as a person who never played the game beyond the point where you get the Hearthstone skin I find it incredibly nerdy and poor but I'm up for it as long as the cards seem to be enjoyable and not powercreep as usual. Let's see
From a design stand point, if I had to choose which titan ruin would get Hearthstone players most excited I would totally pick Ulduar. However, the most recent card back from Blizzcon was very Alaganon and Ulduar inspired, and I just don't see that in the second teaser image. I'm going to stick to my guns about Uldum, but I won't talk smack on anyone who thinks it's Ulduar though.

Thank you so much! I was trying to remember his direct quote as it helped me come to this prediction. Perhaps another reason why it's Ulduar vs Uldum is because Uldum and it's flavor have already been explored due to all the League of Explorers cards! Very interesting!

Get off your high horse and let people enjoy what makes them happy, you darn buzzkill.
Nice find. I think that RegisKillbin talked about the possibility of Uldum also. He compared the hieroglyphs on the border of the teaser to some symbols found in Uldum arquitecture. Maybe the League of EVIL will be searching for some lost artifact on Uldum? Maybe the Re-origination Engine?
II feel like we'll get confirmation as soon as the PvE adventure is released. I'm assuming the storyline will be a standard "villains raid several important places for artifacts, culminating in an epic showdown somewhere down the line"

lots of people saying it's Ulduar.
Cool.

Ulduar would really fit as a natural progression from Dalaran. Imagine Algalon as a card.. πππ

Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.

The last expansion looks like Orgrimmar...
Or the Iron Horde. Black Dragons?
Dragonmaw Clan?
Iron Horde, please ! *-*

I tried having fun once. It was awful.
The heroic cardback for finishing the league of explorer has this symbol too:
Love the tribes.
