At which point is it worth considering to attent a hearthstone competition? I'd like to know the experience from fella's that joined competitions.
So far I've been legend ~30 times with a best rank of 45 (which was yesterday). I thought maybe I can take this hobby to a higher level. I'd like to hear your thoughts.
Assumption 1: You cannot make money out of Hearthstone tourneys consistently (anymore).
Assumption 2: It is too late or too difficult to establish a streaming career in Hearthstone.
Competing in HS will just be for funsies, not more than a hobby. So just go to a competition and see if you like it. You got absolutely nothing to lose :)
Hi, i thougt the same a couple of months ago. Also been legend many seasons, the problem is. In "proffesional" tournaments, nearly every player has the same "skill". In most torunaments all players use the 5 best meta decks, and most games are a coin flip. Dont expect to make any money as a pro, you need to be very lucky
If the OP is asking a bunch of perfect strangers the answer to a completely subjective question, he likely already knows his answer - he's worried that the tournament grind won't be a rewarding experience (financially, and otherwise) for him. But it doesn't hurt to try - there are plenty of opportunities to enter "official" Blizzard qualifiers over the next year. In any event, it's likely best to judge "is it worth it" after making an honest attempt, rather than forgoing the attempt and listening to the salty bastards telling you "don't do it" on a casual HS fansite like hearthpwn.
There's a tournament called Hearthstone Nationals in a few months (last year it was in June, as I remember) and regardless of country you live in, it won't be hard to make it to the top 64 if you spend some time grinding ladder. The prize pool was 5000$ last year, so it's not that little

What do you mean with competition? Like earning your money with it or just tournaments in General? I have some good experience in participating fireside gathering tournaments. I won the tavern hero one and participated to another qualifier. With the new Format it should be even easier. It’s fun, it costs nothing so try it :)

What he said lol.
But really it's up to you to just go for and see if its something that you would want to put your time and energy in. I believe it would be atleast worth the shot.

Compete in tournaments for a year. If you qualify with the new format y

Your best rank from yesterday is irrelevant since what matters is your finishing rank.
Never. Spend your life and free time doing something else.
Like being negative on the internet?

Why not? Just start playing the quallys to the new master series. You have nothing to lose.
Wait... So the guy only has the option to encourage and say yes...
