I know there is a lot of hate towards big priests. and everyone is asking for a barnes nerf. but big priests, while annoying, are not actually that bad.
I myself dont like fighting big priests, I find them annoying. my main problem with them is that I should not have to kill the same minion so many times in one game. but I think that most of my hate is actually coming from all the bad vibes everyone is throwing at big priests. and I just kinda went along with it. and when I lose to a big priest, I get salty. and that salt carries over a few games.
but really, big priests are not so bad. i win against them more than I lose to them. and those wins have not really been about luck. even when they have barnes on turn 4. I win against them almost every single time. and most of the time, they dont have barnes on turn 4, which just makes it easier.
really, if you think about it, big priest are not so bad.

This. Hating Big Priest is becoming a habit. Not that there aren't reasons, but it may not be that oppressive to justify all the hatred it receives.
Moreover, people tend to hate decks also basing on the way they lose. Losing (almost) never feels good, but it tastes the worst possibile when you can't do shit about it. And that's the exact case: Barnes on 4 followed by two Resurrect the following turn can break even the firmest spirits.
I have no big priest expirience and wanted to test the deck and got to legend in 2 days on EU(im a wild main player). Overall i can say that the deck is too powerful and the main reason why i dont like it cause its a very low skill deck.
The problem with Big Priest isn't that it can't be beaten (it's pretty easy to beat them with the right deck) or that they are too powerful (their winrate isn't at the front of the pack). The problem is that Big Priest is insanely high-roll-y. If they get an early Barnes or a good coined Shadow Essence, it's nearly impossible to beat them. If they don't get the early highroll, you can just stomp them with aggro or midrange and they don't have a chance. Either way, the game is determined by the Big Priest's opening hand, and thus isn't very fun.
Big priest is fun to play. If you are a good big priest player, you can win a lot of the more seemingly unwinable matchups and have like a 65%+ win-rate, or if you just made the deck, you can pretty much autopilot it for like a 55% winrate at least.
which I think is a lot of people’s problem with the deck is it seems so brainless... but at the same time big priest is a very premium deck requiring specific cards that not everyone has or wants to craft. Adventure cards, hall of fame legendaries, old legendaries, semi obscure epics, all ranging from the earliest to the most recent sets...
that Is a lot of cherries to pick.
if you have all those cards you should by rights be able to construct a semi-broken extremely draw reliant deck in the unrestricted game mode that allows you to use all cards ever released.

Yeah, sure, bro, the community is always the problem, not the developers.
Sigh... Tired of comments like this one. Just because you don't like the community, doesn't mean you have the right to throw shit at it whenever you want! :(

All pretty reasonable in principle - I think that hate for a lot of decks (not just Big Priest) stems from where you are playing a particular deck or set of decks that comes up against an archetype that you have little hope of winning against. For example : aggro decks that come up against Control / Odd Warrior, or Control / Big Priest - that sort of thing. That feeling of hopelessness in the face of a deck that is literally built to smash your own deck can turn into frustration and anger. And then, as more people feel the same way, there becomes a sort of tribalist / mob feeling of hate towards that deck.
I am convinced they ARE that bad to the point it boggles my mind Blizz didn't do anything about it yet.
Whenever I play against Big Priest it's almost never an interesting game. It's either I am playing aggro and running over them while they do almost nothing. Or I am playing control and just slog through big minion after big minion after big minion until I run out of removal or they run out of big minions. Or I am playing combo and get a free win most of the time because they are slower than aggro decks and can't tech against combo.
The only thing that changes up ( for the worse ) these matchups is Barnes which is as good of a design as Prince Keleseth with ,,I drew this 1 of legendary card in the early game so my winrate rises exponentially,, . I actually looked up on hsreplay the best version of Big Priest with 60% winrate...and if you get Barnes in the mulligan ( using your exceptional skillz of course ) your winrate sky rockets to 80%. Now that's not enough since the minion summoned is random too so if you summon Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound the winrate is probably 95% or so. All because of a random draw into a random summon.
I can't count how many times I've lost ,,games,, that were like Barnes into any minion --> double resurrect or Barnes into Y'shaarj into anything really. Whenever it happens I roll my eyes and think to myself ,,How does Blizzard think this is ok to keep in the game as a tier 1 deck?,, . And as I said...even without Barnes in the picture it's not a fun deck to play against at all. There is also no way to tech against it since you need like 5 tech cards to kinda remotely ruin their plan. It also doesn't help that it's a super easy deck to play so whenever you lose you know it's only because they drew well enough to win.
All that said...I would love it if Blizzard just nuked the deck from orbit. I would be happy enough if at least Barnes was nerfed though...while taking the deck to bottom tier 2 or tier 3. Hopefully Blizzard realizes soon that this would increase the enjoyment of wild greatly. Or maybe Big Priest somehow falls out of the meta...you never know.
It's just a deck that exploits primitive graveyard mechanics of this game, and doesn't feel good for receiving end.
I feel like big part is Obsidian Statue being overstatted. Having lifesteal on top of heavy taunt shuts down so many midrange decks that can't effectively close the game around turn 8 because they heal priest for 12 damage by trying to get through for lethal.

What decks/archetypes do you play may I ask?
Me? Gongaga.
mainly odd warrior

Odd warrior should counter big priest, that's why you are not annoyed, most control decks die to big pruust
Skidaddle skidoodle your Milhouse manastorm is now a noodle

I think these are the two most relevant reasons.
I have no big priest expirience and wanted to test the deck and got to legend in 2 days on EU(im a wild main player). Overall i can say that the deck is too powerful and the main reason why i dont like it cause its a very low skill deck.
I am also ok with Big Priest when i play my Even or Mill Rogue with Sap.
But it is not just a matter of winrates.
Naga Warlock, and Quest Rogue were nerfed while they barely had a positive winrate (because the meta adjusted for them).
Problem with Big Priest is that it shits upon the core mana mechanics of the game AND the rule of duplicate in a deck.
The two things at the same time. That's toxic, no matter if you can win against it.
The problem with Big Priest isn't that it can't be beaten (it's pretty easy to beat them with the right deck) or that they are too powerful (their winrate isn't at the front of the pack). big priest is my favorite wild deck..... with that said Im a 99.8% Standard player. It's a fun deck though

So youre saying I shouldnt be able to play 6 hall of fame rags per game?(all for less cost than an actual rag btw)

Piloted Shredder, Knife Juggler, Mad Scientist, Dr. Boom
Need to be removed from this game
If you actually believe big priest is not a problem, you deserve no respect of any kind
In terms of winrates, no it is not super opressive, but let's look at how this deck loses:
1: Countermatchups, mainly rogues with Sap and hyper aggro.
2: Essence-Barens or failing to draw any minion creation.
3: Getting Ragnaros to resurrect when facing too much preasure.
4: The lucky burndraw over the top of the Staue wall.
None of these involve much gameplay at all, it is pretty much all rng. Then of course there are the stupid wins with spawning 7 8+ drops by turn 7.
