So I recently started playing the witcher 3 from that I got curious on how the Gwent actual game works and I found that their system is almost identical to HS in terms of pricing and yet the system is very F2P friendly (playing for 3 days almost got a tier 1 deck, but mostly off starter bonuses), Liked the game as well feels fresh for me so far and I really like card games (see: 4 years of activity in Hearthpwn).
While I am not expecting activision blizzard to turn out super generous suddenly and start giving packs for any achievement I think they could implement some QOL changes the game implemented:
1. the choice between 3 cards for the 5th card is just amazing, you get to choose which card you get each time from 3 so you are never disappointed too much since you had a choice.
2. the "class packs" you have some packs that only give you class cards from a chosen class for example I will choose a paladin pack so I will only get paladin cards(maybe just from standard I guess), this is great when aiming for a specific class.
3. events of golden cards in packs? like *2 chance to get a golden card in packs for a few days (Gwent did a guaranteed one but it's blizzard we are talking about), if it's announced a few weeks in advance it could be really nice.
I am pretty sure CD Projekt Red has been listening to feedback from different card games (probably mainly HS as it's the most similar to HS's system, but I played also other card games most of them follow the "HS" formula) HS sure could use a bit of change to it's current system which is very greedy on the dev part.
I will keep playing HS of course I feel more familiar with the game and still like it but I just think that Blizzard can do more in favor of its' players if it wanted to, and Gwent shows that it's possible to do it.
I don't understand why no big competitior felt the need to port their ''Hearthstone killer'' to mobile yet. I'm not playing card games behind a desktop PC, I have better stuff to play there. Card games are for on the road.

MtG:Duels has been on iPhone for a long time
It's even playable on Xbox - something I've been waiting for Hearthstone to sort out for a loooong time. Laziness I call it...
The reason Blizzard won't make any changes like this is summed up in your last paragraph. We're all too familiar with it now, and will come back regardless. Why reward us for loyalty when they've got us hook, line and sinker?
