i have about 10,000+ dust in total. i really want to try hit legend. Is it better craft a meta deck now or wait till the rotation happens. My current deck spell hunter sucks and you cannot go above rank 10+ the nerfs destroyed the deck.. HELP ME OUT!!!
I would say wait. Most of the top decks except Odd Warrior are going to die after rotation (Priest w/o Visions and Hunter w/o Rexxar), even Odd Warrior is risky because devs have said they are keeping an eye on Genn and Baku.
Odd paladin will lose some pieces at rotation, Lost in the Jungle, Acherus Veteran, Righteous Protector, and Vinecleaver but rotation is still a couple months away. Don't bother using Prince Liam in odd paladin. Its winrate is really low. It's the worst card that is commonly included in the deck. (By the way, when looking at hsreplay for winrates, the best thing to look at is "winrate when played" as that gives the best indication of how much it impacts the game when it is actually used. The only card in odd paladin that has a worse winrate when played is Baku itself, which is sadly required for the deck to function.)
Edit: I forgot that Kobolds and Catacombs also rotates. So, at rotation, Odd Paladin loses almost everything it is currently using lol. Fungalmancer, Corridor Creeper, Unidentified Maul, and I missed mentioning Stonehill Defender. Still, pretty cheap to craft it, if you want something that's pretty good.
The meta will be vastly different after the rotation. Crafting at this point is not recommended. Save your dust for the next expansion or two. That being said if there is a deck that you can craft that needs less that 1k dust it might be worth it to you. But I would try the deck first with replacements before crafting to see if you like it and it fits your play style.
Save dust to craft golden Hall of Fame cards to disenchant after next expansion.
Does that actually work? If so, I'd appreciate an explanation. I have a hard time making the math work in my head.
It does work, I'll grab a example that happened, ragnaros.
So if you didn't have it you'd have the chance to craft it before HoF change hit, even in golden, costing you 3200 dust
After nerf hit, you'd be refused the dust you used plus you get to keep the ragnaros, which means you can either keep a collectable in golden plus it's worth of dust that you used or you can break the copy you got afterwards as well. I personally keep it but that's me.
What’s your favorite class? I’d say craft a deck because life is too short to always be waiting and waiting and waiting. You will always get more dust, and rotation is 2 months away.
With that much dust, you can easily afford to craft one of the cheaper top-tier decks and still be well-prepared for rotation. Something like Midrange Hunter or Odd Paladin, perhaps something else too depending on your collection.
As others before have said, just craft something cheap. Plenty of cheap decks out there like Midrange Hunter, Odd Paladin, and Secret Paladin which only run 1-2 legendaries.

Spell hunter is still a viable deck. Don't spend your dust, just grind if you want legend, it's far from impossible.
10k is a lot, but not so much before a Rotation, even moreso if your collection is currently limited.
I mean, say you're gonna need 2 legendaries and 2 epics (probably the bare minimum for just one new deck): that's already 4k, and you don't even know how far the new deck will carry you, etc...
Hold on and wait. Maybe try budget versions of other decks.

Maybe play the Brawl or Arena till then.
Secret pally seems to be doing well and it's a pretty cheap deck I think? maybe that's the way to go. Or aggressive beast Hunter
that makes sense.. thanks for the heads up!
i might try it hehe. it looks okay for now
Odd Paladin is cheap

If you are in your first year of playing please read this post.
Dust does not burn a hole in the jar. Be careful what you craft, especially before and right after a rotation.

Hope that clarified it.

If you primarily are interested in Standard, then wait until the rotation.
If you like (or at least don't mind) Wild there is no reason to wait. Cards you craft will stay use-able forever.
As others before have said, just craft something cheap. Plenty of cheap decks out there like Midrange Hunter, Odd Paladin, and Secret Paladin which only run 1-2 legendaries.

Spell hunter still seems to do ok, and midrange hunter is cheap if you have the spellhunter base.
The meta SHOULD change drastically with the rotation. so I suggest you wait as you don't know which class(es) will come out ahead.
