Just a reminder to everyone out there that this game we all know and love is part of a business. If part of the business isn’t doing well, people can lose their jobs and development for games can be cut. I know that this game is free to play, but please consider buying some packs in the near future, at least when the new set comes out. We want to let Activision Blizzard know that we love this game. They only see dollars. If the dollars aren’t there, then the game won’t be either.
Activision will do whatever the hell they want. They lost the Destiny property. They keep milking CoD endlessly. They absolutely destroyed their other IP's such as Guitar Hero. They're on their way to destroy Diablo, they're shutting down HoTS and internal reports on Blizzard clearly state that it's Activisons clasp on their company that's making it more corporate and less consumer-centric. Expect this to be visible in Hearthstone in the upcoming years too.
People already vote with their wallet in this kind of game and I want to bet a good amount of us has already spent a good amount of money there. I know I have and the game's state doesn't really make it that worthwhile anymore. In fact, I highly doubt I'll be spending money on HS in the future anymore.
They've already raised the prices last year. For what? You think the developers see any of that?
And your request is to give more money to them?! I genuinely wonder how this seemed sensible a thing to post here.
That said: I think a large part of the layoffs were handling the Destiny franchise and/or relations with Bungie. Since that's something they're no longer pursuing.

what have you lost your damn mind? blizzard fires people while handing out bonus payments to their executives, this <nice> guy - "hey guys, let's buy packs guys, lots of packs guys, so we can play this FREE TO PLAY GAME guys.."

I always forget about this "Activision Blizzard" union I just don't like the former, never really liked COD, and most of their titles are sequel after sequel after sequel milking a franchise to it's core without much thought of them, I hope Blizzard doesn't get back-lashed too much from the failures of Activision.

Activion Blizzard is greedy as fuck. We as the "gaming community" have shown more than enough good will towards microtransactions, loot boxes, DLCs etc. The fact that "extras" to the game are planned beforehand is already disgusting. Expansions used to be extra pluses when the game was successful. Today even horrible games get overpriced DLCs.
Have you seen a how much the CEO at Activision Blizzard makes in a year? The problem isn't in buying packs of cards, the company is a locust of the gaming world, a parasite that leeches IP till they shrivel up and die.
I so wish Blizzard never joined with Activision but they did and so you'll see games like HS and Warcraft etc monitised even further than they are already until they deem it no longer worth sustaining then they'll be gone.
You'd be better off buying no packs and sending the message that you are unhappy with their business practices and put your money towards more worthwhile games or causes.

Last months proved we cannot blindfoldbuy anything blizz releases. No new titles on the horizont, probably for next 3 years (given they take their time in development and testing), just new expansions for WoW, HS, some diablo bullshiet. Its a sad perspective
This is Activision post ? I spend A LOT of my money on HS, in fact, more than any other game I played. If 350 dollars in two years is few, than go F yourself Blizz/Activision...In my country (Czech Rep) normal price for a full PC/PS game is about 65 dollars...

Tho classic wow is coming <hyped!>
No shit.
We're getting.
No new IP's.
No particularly sizable expansions on existing games (except for the regular WoW and HS expansions we've already been getting in a steady pace).
Agreed. Even though IMO they catered way too much to the competitive audience lately (a lá Juicy Psychmelon) and let's not forget the King Rastakhan fiasco where they made him an alternative Hero instead of the actual Hero Card of the set that he deserves; I still think HS is amazing enough to fully support it in the hope that they release more fun cards like Griftah, Witch's Cauldron, and Marin the Fox in the future. (Maybe even revert the Yogg nerf? Who knows.)

Grabbing popcorn and watching this post get shredded.
Dad, husband, gamer, fueled by coffee.
Currently playing Dragon Galakrond Priest, Dragon Galakrond Warrior and Highlander Dragon Hunter.
That
Pretty sure the core Blizzard titles, including HS, have nothing to do with the drop in expectations.
I'm sorry what the hell? Did I misread you there?
Activision will do whatever the hell they want. They lost the Destiny property. They keep milking CoD endlessly. They absolutely destroyed their other IP's such as Guitar Hero. I think the best solution is to force Activision into Hall of Fame and keep Blizzard as the core set in Standard.
Some mod close this thread, please. This is disgusting!

Oh yeah, and I'm gladly going to poor more money into this so they can pay more ridiculous sign-on bonuses to the handful executive-level employees.
"Activision Blizzard Inc.’s Dennis Durkin will receive awards worth $15 million as part of his appointment to chief financial officer"
This was literally a month ago. I'm sorry for the lay-offs but it's this kind of stupid, stupid behavior that's causing it.
For all I care nobody spends a single dime on this game anymore.

What the truck are they doing?!
"No meaningful expansions on existing games (except for the regular expansions)."
WTF does that mean?
