Good lord, In the end, it doesn’t really matter, but I’m am so sick of everyone being so overly sensitive constantly. Oh no, a drawing of a female character has cleavage, must do something about that!
I believe in treating others with care and sensitivity, but people are just looking to be offended at every turn these days.
Allowing Malfurian's nipple to [still] show (after the Jaina change) simply swings the sexism in the other direction. When will people learn that you can not please everyone? True equality is anarchy.
The other thread got taken down? Pretty disappointing.
Anyway I'll miss those knockers. Its a shame someone at blizzard got jealous of a fictional characters cleavage and decided to body shame the well-endowed.
If we complain enough about Garrosh's pecks enough maybe they'll give him a cool t-shirt idk
I would love to believe that people could rationally discuss something like this on the internet. Unfortunately, in the roughly 2 hours the original thread was up, I was proven wrong several times. Several people were let off without warnings when the thread was locked.
As I said in my post when I locked the thread, there isn't much to discuss. Jaina has had her cleavage covered. There has been no official statement as to why, and she is the only piece of art that's been changed. Since we have absolutely no idea why this was done - since many far more provocative artworks are untouched (Aviana is my personal favourite) - there's nowhere to go in that discussion.
Leaving a thread like that open is asking us to have a mod on standby at all times checking it to remove posts and warn people. There's no need for it when the potential for discussion about it is so limited.
You locked the whole thread so that you didn't have to moderate it?
Isn't it normal to keep an eye on new threads since they get more activity?
The thread wasn't locked to avoid moderating it - the thread was locked because any discussion it could have inspired had come, gone and been left in the dust by people complaining about SJWs, casual racism and people complaining about how they can't stare at Jaina's boobs anymore.
There is no discussion to be had. Censorship is (generally) bad, yes. What else is going to be gained by allowing people to spout sexist jokes at each other?

Solid lmao. Never did I think I'd read the term "knockers" on this site!! AHAHAHAHAHAHHA OP! I havent seen new design. Sounds pretty ridiculous. Tess Greymane's leather outfit is entirely too tight. PLS NERF!
This was the not the "equality" nerf I was expecting.
Edit:Wow. I just looked at it. I never even noticed her cleavage before but for some reason that looks out of time period and weird. Lazy editing but most practical change.

Isn't it up to OP of they feel they have finished discussing their topic. Obviously it appears they weren't.
Maybe I'm not aware of what powers admins actually have but aren't you able to simply delete/mute people (if they are actually breaking any rules). Instead of preventing anyone from speaking at all.
Maybe nothing is gained for you personally from "sexist" jokes (jokes actually can't be sexist on their own btw, by definition). But literally nothing is lost either, so it should really just be a question of whether someone is breaking site TOS or not
who cares, she has big boobs like every other female character in video games cause girl gamers want to have that kind of body while boy gamers just wanna mind fuck those bodies, who gives a rats ass?

Would you prefer 'jokes which perpetuate sexist ideas'? Or 'sexism disguised as a joke'?
Sexism, racism etc are not allowed on the site. If a thread is viewed to have degenerated to a point where any further discussion is drowned out by topics like this, it is locked.
For example, I remember a thread that commented on how interesting it was that the members of the Kobolds Adventure Party were all women. This innocent observation quickly devolved into 'hurr durr girls don't play games' and 'DAE think representation is literally causing the apocalypse?' talk, and so the thread was locked.
It just so happened that this time, the thread degenerated to that point rather quickly.
I assume this is Activision PR/marketing being worried that parents might be put off letting their kids play. Jania is very much a visible figure (or used to be haha) and of course she's the tutorial. I doubt it was Team 5's decision.
Obviously ridiculous and the kind of thing that makes me glad I don't work for a big company and have to hear the crap that comes from those departments anymore whilst pretending I find such dross acceptable/valid.
To the moderators: The censorship of the iconic Jaina hero portrait is legitimately topical.
By all means, set some guidelines, but don't censor a discussion about censorship.
Yeah... What is going on here? I thought Hearthpwn was a safe place to discuss this kind of things. :(
No reason to cater to eight year olds.
As the OP of said thread I really just made it to spread the news in case people hadnt noticed yet, I guess its too strange of a subject
That's Incredible!
wtf they nerfed mage
lame

Looks like Blizzard bought into it too.

Fun > Meta
She didn’t have big ones anyway, what’s the fuss all about lol
Has anyone noticed that King Rastakhan got some kind of new green aura around his face? Extra animation, can’t complain.
At first I thought that was caused by winning but then i saw it was only on him. Did Lunara always have a rainbow?

The green aura is his newfound respect for women thanks to Jaina covering up

Why am I not surprised ?
Blizzard has become absolute shit, the game has been the same since I started playing, almost 4 years ago.
There's 0 incentive to play the game and now they freaking censor Jaina lmao.. pathetic
