So I woke up this morning, did some chores, then thought ... quick game of Hearthstone? Why not?
Picked up my phone to be greeted with the log-in screen and country selection menu when I opened Hearthstone. How very odd?
After 3 login attempts, and 3 red messages that my account could not be found (an account with 90% of all the cards in it btw) I panicked.
Ran to my PC to login through the Blizzard app and the same thing again. Somehow...I don't know if it was an old cookie in Chrome or something, but I browsed to Blizzard on the web and opened the 'my account' link, l and I was still logged in with my username! Phew. Took a look at my account details and my email had been changed to BEIKUP341@163.COM.
I checked my emails, and it turns out this happened at 2AM this morning while I was sleeping.
I very quickly changed my email back again, changed my password, downloaded the authenticator app and then submitted a ticket to Blizzard to let them know of the account breach. On checking my collection, none of my cards have been disenchanted thankfully, but what a scare!!! I assume there's a bot going round trying to break through unsecured Blizzard accounts.
So please folks, if you haven't already, download the Authenticator app for your phone and secure your Hearthstone account. It's currently at risk if you haven't.
Having a Blizzard-Account without an authenticator is simply bad. Why: because battle.net is the only website where passwords are not case sensitive.
So if you type in AbCdEfG it's the same as abcdefg. No idea why, but yes, this makes passwords there MUCH MUCH MORE INSECURE. No idea why, but it's stupid nontheless.
Yep, once a couple of years ago when D3 came out and auction house was a thing. I had nothing of value ingame and the morons who hacked me actually played the game together via my account (I had new names on "players that you've recently played with") so I just reported them all to the customer support lol

Has anyone else here been hacked before? :(
Being a Battle Net account, it's more likely that your account was hacked with the intention of use in games like WoW, etc, rather than Hearthstone.
If you have any accounts on games like WoW or Diablo 3 etc, you should check those instead.
I installed the Authentication App a long time ago. After my Account got stolen mid '16 actually. I reckon it got stolen and sold as it was near complete at the time.
So yes. Download the Authentication App, and change your Password as often as you remember. That's my advice. Glad you got your account back Classixuk!
This is your Public Service Announcement for today. Thank you...

May i ask how did they hack you?
I bought some gems from the auction house, with gold, from a huge seller (which was probably a bot). That is the only thing that comes to mind because I never play in public games but Blizz, ofc, never told me how was my acc hacked.

4/3/19 RIP Keith Flint. 😔
I got my blizz acoount hacked ages ago, have friends who still see me playing diablo and starcraft as "me" years later.
These day i run authenticator and legendary password, because i would be pretty bummed if my HS account was hacked.
