EDIT: That's not a dig at the OP - but the idea that all the above nerfs are reasonable, when they clearly aren't. Some are dubious, but ok, I guess. (CB and ES). But the other 3? And Equality? Really? I hate the card as much as anyone, but when there is a 5-mana version that also sets the attack to 1 as well, then you know there's a bit of a mistake making it 4 mana.
Lol. The clown fiesta continueth...
You can laugh and say they aren't reasonable, but you didn't say why? All you provided was snark. And 4 mana is cheaper than 5 mana, so the 5 mana card is better. Not sure what the point was.
You claim I didn't say why, followed by repeating the exact reason I gave, albeit with a nonsensical argument about 5 being greater than 4. Wait, are you the Quick Maffs guy? .... o.O #famous
Anyway, the whole point is that Shrinking Ray is now a hugely better option than Equality due to the value offered by both. Rather simple - didn't realise that it would need explaining to anyone, to be honest.
Flametongue Totem was just about playable at 2 mana. At 3 mana, you are now better off playing something like Dire Wolf or punting for Fungalmancer.
Hunter's Mark seems like an utterly pointless nerf. It's a lame attempt by Blizzard to replace Equality with a cut down version at the same cost.
They also should nerf Brawl to 6 mana, because it is better than Enter the Coliseum and costs 1 less, how come, Blizzard?
How come Purify is a 2-mana card, that silences only friendly minions, but Silence can be a 0 mana one and can target anything. Since Silence doesn't draw us cards, we can extract some mana from its price, but it definitely shouldn't cost 0. I suggest we increase its cost by 1, because silencing a buffed Edwin VanCleef is practically killig him. And don't get me started on Mass Dispel - a spell, that silences ALL ENEMY MINIONS (leaving the player's ones untouched) AND EVEN DRAWS THEM A CARD. Like WTH? How the fuck isn't this changed yet? Does Blizzard even care about the future of the game? Mass Dispel should get a cost increase by 1, it will put it in line with Holy Nova. Actually scratch that - it should definitely cost 6 mana, else Odd Priest would become too powerful.

No. It's bad that Equality is now virtually pointless to include because it is so much worse than Shrink Ray due to the mana cost difference being so slight,. There is a difference. The argument isnt that Shrinking Ray is good. It's that Equality is now just plain bad. If they restricted the debuff to the opponent (like Devolvefor example) it would justify the new cost.

And that brings us neatly round to the whole point of my first post. The nerf was entirely unreasonable as opposed to the premise that it wasn't. It wasn't "too good" at all. It was pretty well balanced - it's been fine for about 5 years or so now, so why it needed change is anybody's guess.

It was too good though. What other card from basic/classic did as much as Equality for 2 mana?
Like I said somewhere on the front page. Equality/Hunter's Mark/Execute are all variations of the same card. They do X-damage to a minion, and require 1 more point of damage to come from somewhere else to destroy the minion.
Equality, however, does X-damage to all enemy minions. If there are 2 enemy minions, it is twice as good as Execute for the same cost.
All Blizzard did was this nerf was bring the cost in line with what the effect does.
I think all these nerfs aside from hunters mark and spellstone are stupid because baku and genn are still at large. they are the main problem, not flametongue.

Rejoice, for even in death, you have become children of Thanos.
Equality reduces the hp of x units, but it does not kill like execute. If you face a massive board having only an equality in your hand does not help you.
This happens more often than you might expect. The obligation to have another damaging card or x minions on the board to actually neutralize threads is what made equality balanced in my opinion.
Additionally it doesn't make much sense to compare spells from different classes because they are always embedded in the whole set that defines what a class can do and what not. For example hunters mark got insanely stronger with candleshot. Paladin on the other hand did not get newer cheap direct damage cards to work with equality.

This is the Hex/Polymorph nerf.
These are really bad examples though. Execute destroys the minion. Equality doesn't. Hunter's Mark targets only one minion, but the cost is less. Equality is an AoE. It is now the same cost as Consecration. It's extremely easy to see which of these is now the better card. Equality does nowhere near the same power as Consecration.
Demonwrath, Volcanic Potion These are both cards that do much more than Equality does, for cheaper value. Even Explosive Sheep is better than this card now! That's how bad it has got.
Maybe im playing the wrong format and the wrong ranks. Last season i played between rank 6-15. I cant say once i felt like one of the cards seems unfair during a game. Sure the spellstone can be a pain in the ass depending on the deck one plays.
On the other hand, i had like 10% winrate against OTK Priests...no matter what deck i played. Everything gets removed and then you eat 40k OTK.
Also...the worst games are those where you trade turn for turn for an "exiciting" game and then you lose on turn 10 because someone plays Zuljin or Guldan for free win. And there is no "playing around"...you just know, if your opponent sits on it its gg, except you have a very specific deck against it.
You claim I didn't say why, followed by repeating the exact reason I gave, albeit with a nonsensical argument about 5 being greater than 4. Wait, are you the Quick Maffs guy? .... o.O #famous

Equality isn’t so much worse than Shrink Ray - there may be times when you want to preserve your own minions’ attack.
I love all of these idiots crying about how these nerfs are to force people to buy packs. Did you people forget that Whizbang is a thing? That they give away free legendaries and packs every expansion. If all of this was about greed those things wouldn't happen. We don't have the numbers that they have access to all we can do is either accept the changes and adapt to them. If that bothers you then just leave because you're clearly just salty about the nerfs. Well news flash, we've all had our favorite classes hit by nerfs. It sucks but it happens. Deal with it.

It’s not pointless at all.
Equality is still the better combo card. ( Avenging Wrath comes to mind, wich is impossible with Sray)
Also it’s still better if you have some Fattys on the board ( let’s say a Dinosaur) and want to connect through a taunt.
Although, in my opinion the nerf in general was way too much, and hurts future Control Paladin builds.
A "situational" argument where a card performs better within a narrow set of criteria in one particular scenario that plays to the card's strengths is not really a compelling argument that the card is therefore better.
It's like saying "Evolve [/card] is a better card than [card]Unstable Evolution because when you have a board full of 8+ mana minions, you get better value from Evolve and more mana left to spend afterwards."
I didn’t made an general argument of Equality being better .
I pointed specific situations out that occur quite frequently to me ( yes i also play one Avenging Wrath in my egg Paladin) . Even if those scenarios don’t happen as often ( I would belive my examples are a bit more realistic than your evolve/unstable evolution theory construct) , they still proof your how wrong your argument is.
Well, I like those nerfs and the fact that Blizz is going to nerfs cards on a regular basis. I will wait for the changes to be effective before starting to play.
It should have been Rexxar that was nerfed not these other cards and when I say nerfed I mean change the combinations that are possible not just increase the mana cost, even at 10 mana Rexxar is OP. Rexxar went from one of the worst DKs to eclipsing everything. The combinations that are possible every turn are literally game breaking. Far, far better than all the other DKs now.
On the plus side it does rotate soon. There are so many bad, bad Hearthstone players that are propped up by Rexxar right now. Really novice plays are not being punished as that one card saves them each and every game. I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see the Hearthstone population drop after the rotation as these bads find out what it's like to play without this one card acting as their crutch.

Yeah I'm ok with the nerfs, though I can't pretend I like the equality nerf - I've always enjoyed slower paladin decks.
But where the hell is the nerf to barnes or at the very some other big priest nerf? Not cool Blizzard, not cool.
You compare apples with cherries.
