Right now, Ranked is all about winning or losing. You either get stars/higher positions, or you lose them. It doesn't really matter what you play, making the most efficient decks always those with the highest win rate. That's fine, that's okay. It's the way competitive works.
However, I'd find it to be interesting to reward players for testing non-meta decks. Let's say you're able to climb the ladder using some cards that are considered garbage, meaning you're still playing better than the meta despite using non-popular and lower-winrate cards. Shouldn't that be made more rewarding than just playing what everyone else's playing?
Pretty sure Blizzard has all the data for how successful specific cards are overall, and how popular. Can't they add those data into their ranked formula? In my opinion, if player are able to handle cards that aren't being handled well by most players and still win most of their games, they should climb a little bit quicker. It's not that hard to climb using Spellhunter, Big Priest, whatever, but still having a winrate of 50%+ with cards that are far weaker than 50% (and therefore playing better using those cards than other players testing them), is much more difficult and yet offers the same reward as playing the easier meta decks.
In my opinion, diversity makes Hearthstone much more interesting. Encouraging all players to test unusual decks, cards and combos profits everyone - including Blizzard (more cards being played = more crafting = $$$). It could be something totally minor, like 1 additional star every 10 games or so. Just a heads-up to the players for going the more difficult route.
This is a terrible idea. Ranked should not be influenced by things like this - it's a ranked mode to determine skill level. Rank 15 players should not arbitrarily be able to get to Rank 10 because they play some jank deck and get miraculous wins. It results in them having a bad time getting curbstomped by players better than them, and other players having a bad time playing against laughably worse opponents.
Now, rewarding players in other ways for playing unusual or silly decks - eg an Achievement system which gives gold/dust/packs? That's something to think about.

self imposed limitations you’re putting on yourself by playing jank or less reliable decks doesn’t need to be rewarded. It’s your choice to go out of line with the flow, you’re not taking a harder path you’re just putting on extra weight for no reason
coming up with a successful anti-meta deck is already rewarding in itself, instead of pushing bad play try paving the new trend.

Like... ...quests?
No, I mean like an Achievement system. Similar to what we had to do to get Old Murk-Eye and Captain's Parrot before those were scrapped - Collect all Classic Murlocs/Pirates respectively.
There could be graduated ones - Summon 10/25/50/100/250/500/1000 etc Murlocs/Pirates/Elementals/Dragons/Whatever - that could reward some nice stuff.
Then there's win conditions - obvious stuff like 'Win the game with Mechathun's Deathrattle" and sillier stuff like "Win the game by attacking with a 1/1 Wisp". "Win the game at full Health", "Win the game at 1 Health", "Win the game with Eye for an Eye", "Win a game with a deck of only Spells", whatever.
Collection based stuff like the old stuff I already mentioned - I believe there's like a 100 gold reward for collecting all of Classic or something, more stuff like that. Give out incremental rewards for that - 25%, 50%, 75% of a set gets you a reward. Collect all the Old Gods, Collect all the Legendary Weapons, Collect all the Scientists.
With an Achievement system single player content gets so much better - you can track how many times you've won Monster Hunt with each Hunter there, or wins with each Totem in the Rumble Run, or winning with each class against the Lich King (or any old Adventure boss). They could tie rewards to it, or it could just be for show.
An Achievement system is my number one wish for Hearthstone in the future; I fundamentally believe it would be better for the game than a Tournament mode.

Achievements. Should be in the game and could encourage many different goals for players.

This type of thing exists through themed quests,
