Actually I start getting so annoyed from people with golden hero, legend cardback and metadecks in unranked.
Shouldn't be unranked be for people who are tired of all the metadecks in ladder? Actually it doesn't make any difference at all if you play ranked or unranked, you face the same decks over and over again.
For new players this is absolutely devastating. I have several friends which I brought to HS but they quickly started getting demotivated because where ever they play they get stomped by metadecks. And yes dear Blizz, even in ranks 50-25 there are enough players with metadecks which just burst through the new players. And when they want to play unranked to take a break they also get stomped.
I know that it takes time and effort to get a good in the door, I went through this phase as well but somehow I stood my ground and survived but at the moment playing HS is more frustration than fun and I don't know how to get past this frustration again.
I know this can also be written in the salt thread but I thought I share my thoughts and anger in a separate thread. Sorry if I'm bothering anyone or someone is taking it personal.
Just because they have golden hero and legend cardback, doesn't mean that they are playing seriously. I have a golden mage hero and legend cardback but I like to play meme mage decks in casual. Also, sometimes people are just trying to complete their daily quests
So you want us to pretend there is no MMR is unranked? Are you seriously suggesting that your first game in unranked will be against one of these players? New players do not face this type of deck in unranked, sorry, but you are just flat out wrong. Also, you don't need a lot of cards for a 'meta' deck - Emerald Spellstone about does it these days. Should hunter be banned from unranked?
Finishing a quest ? time-wise turns are the same here and there ,class cards are the same as well and I don't think there is a quest which is harder to complete in Ranked than in casual. It is probably faster to finish a quest in Ranked since most meta decks are aggro ,which means the game is faster as well .
Grinding for 100 gold ? You are free to do so ,except you are facing other 100 gold grinders with the meta decks you see in ladder ,plus your Odd Rogue, Even Shaman or Big Priest deck can't tell a difference between the two modes since it will most likely stomp regardless of what mode you are playing .
We don't want to lose intentionally to face "weaker opponents" ,we want to face a golden hero with a legendary cardback and level60 class but without a fricking tier 1 deck in casual (the non-serious mode) .
No one can claim to have the ultimate truth regarding who plays a certain mode ,be it people bored of meta decks or people who don't want to lose stars ,it can be both or none and it depends mainly on the majority that appeals to the devs of the game with their opinion .
Many of you are focusing on the notion that golden heroes and legend card backs don't mean a meta deck as well ,when OP's main problem is when they are combined with a meta deck ,as it is the only triggering case (at least for me) .
Legend card back + Golden Hero + a non-meta deck in Casual ? Anyday ,my favorite matchup .
No Legend card back + no Golden hero + a meta deck in Casual? Could be a new player who is afraid of ladder ,or a veteran who just crafted the deck and wants to try it in Casual before Ranked . Plus it's good to see how your homebrew deck fares against meta decks once in a while .
No Legend card back + no Golden hero + non-meta deck ? Poor new-to-game F2P player .
Legend card back + Golden Hero (non-Whizbang) + A deck that is even oppressive to other tier 1 decks (like pre-nerf Odd Paladin) ? Hell no ,a player who is an expert with the class (500+ wins) with a knowledge of the meta and it's decks (Legend card back) can do whatever he is doing as well in both formats (Casual and Ranked) ,I know there are rare cases (499 wins or reached legend 4 years ago quit the game and then returned recently) but I just love the 4676477465 rare cases I face on Casual daily .
Heck ,I hesitate to finish my Rogue quests with Big Rogue in Casual because of it's highrolls even though it's less than tier 4 ,but do it anyway because Casual is already filled with tier 1 decks and not being the villain makes me feel a bit better about myself .
I had the ultimate joy watching all these Odd Paladins post-nerf asking for a refund for the entire deck after making the experience for others 10× as disgusting as not getting 2000 dust ,when they get these after grinding Casual for 20 days (assuming 100gold=100dust) let alone 3 months .
I beat golden portrait Legendary cardback with metadeck just yesterday, twice, while completing my Play 30 Paladin cards quest just making on the spot a deck with only paladin cards. Was Cloning Gallery and Midrange Hunter.
Also beat Cube Paladin, Spell Hunter, Odd Paladin and Midrange Hunter with Midrange Paladin and Dragon Control Mage I was experimenting with. Only lost to a Deathrattle Hunter.
Sure, I have Legend cardback myself and I know what those decks do and they don't what mine do. I did build those decks to experiment and mess around with, but also with the meta in mind. As I like to experiment for competitiviness if possible.
I understand it can be frustrating sometimes, but it's also so satisfying to beat meta decks and know you have a good idea or concept here and there. Even more hilarious when you do it with Whizbang decks.
Casual mode is for everyone. Some people want to play the best decks, and don't want the stress and anxiety that ladder can bring (don't ask me, apparently this is a thing). Ultimately if that's what they want to do, sad as it may seem, there's nothing wrong with it. Sure, you might get stomped by them but nothing is on the line in casual so accept it and move on with your life (:

Got your point but why don't you try your deck on ladder? Isn't it even more satisfying to beat meta decks and earn some stars from it? Don't see it offensive, I'm just curious to read your answer.
I mean I can only talk about myself, if I lost 3 games in a row on ranked I either go tilt and just quit the game or I take a break and play some memedecks on casual but facing the same decks in casual like in ranked is just boring. It would be nice to have the choice in which queue you want to be added but I think that's too much expected.
I mean, the game is 5 years old, there's a lot of people with golden heroes and legend cardback from whenever they cared enough to grind to legend so I don't know why that's relevant. There's always gonna be meta decks in casual, people like to win, even if it's just casual.
A question, have you been winning games in casual before now?
Remember there's an MMR in Casual. Meaning the more you win the stronger opponents you face. Thus if, in the past, you've been doing well then it means you're going to be placed with similar folks that ar edoing well with strong decks. It'll stay like that until you ar ewinning about as much as you are losing. So if you are sick of those legend players with high tier decks but you've been winning some games and losing others, you are as good as them and the game will consider you well matched to them.
Same goes if you tend ot go on tilt and run away from casual the second you start losing. If you only stick around when you win and run for the hills when you lose well.. according to MMR you will just keep getting stronger opponents. You have to lose regularly to go 'down' to see weaker folks.
There may be issues with Casual and the like, but we DO need to get that question sorted out first. After all, there's no point pushing you down to face weaker players if all you are going to do is roll right over them
how many time should we tell you that you are not in the position to tell people which deck they should play. It is casual so if you face with a deck you don't want to play against or if you feel like you can't beat an opponent with a legendary card back just concede. Most importantly how is it people that bitch and moan about 'net decks' played in casual do not realise they face with these decks because of their MMRs. They are pitted against other people with fairly complete/meta collections.
If you are new or suck at the game, casual will not put you versus so called net-decks. So get over it.
Who cares? It's Casual. If you find out that your opponent is playing a 'Meta' Deck just concede and move on. No one, on these Forums or anywhere else for that matter, should be an Arbiter on how people play a fucking video game.
Hey guys,

I have multiple golden heroes, when I use it also a legend cardback and play some tier 1 decks in casual when I need quick wins. Also I am f2p.
Why? Because I've been through the tough early phase every f2p has to go through and I value my time.
Furthermore, youoor your friends can lower their expected ladder level easily by losing a couple of times. Then they'll face weaker opponents.
nope. It's for everyone testing decks, without sacrificing stars
It is, but there should be a way to separate [new] players toying around things that first come to mind like beast hunter, secret mage etc.
We all started this way. Such players are out of competition anyway so let them have their fun playing the very few cards they have.
Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.
I think what OP said is clear .
Golden hero ,Legend cardback AND a metadeck.

unless they want to be the best they can be.

Am I going crazy?
4/3/19 RIP Keith Flint. 😔
Like, I don't know, the hidden MMR of casual?
