Hello everyone, recently opened a mechatun from packs, and was planning to make a working deck with it. So far, the main contenders are Druid and Warlock, correct? Which one do you think has more staying power in this meta? Do people overreact to Druid nerfs? Or do you think Warlock is much riskier / insta wrecked by demoinc project?
ps: Do you guys think any of the mechatun decks can be viable in wild too?
Warlock is probably the most fun and presents the least problems in clearing the board and your hand. Priest is good but relies plenty on hemet and sometimes the quest becomes a problem as you have to finish it - sometimes I don't play the quest if hemet is in my hand but that's risky too. Unless you don't run the quest at all. Druid can cycle super fast but can get stuck with a minion on the board sometimes. And rogue and warrior thun seem like higher grade thun stuff, and probably meme at best (although experienced warriors might disagree with me?). It is pretty impressive when a warrior pulls it off, I couldn't even be salty about it.
Warlock seems to be the best Mecha'thun class for ladder. Mecha'thun Druid isn't particularly interesting to pilot and probably a little weaker than the Hakkar version due to the eventual need to dump your hand, which can be awkward depending on draw order. Also gets run over pretty easily by fast decks. Warlock has a bit more of a dynamic gameplan where managing your heals and lifesteal minions is very important because you're tapping a lot. Its stronger against fast decks because Defile and Godfrey are a lot easier to set up clears with than Wild Pyromancer combos, and it actually runs minions that enable you to make some plays for the board. All round better deck and a lot more satisfying to play than the Druid version.
Yeah, but Warrior for me is the most fun and challenging. It can't draw nearly as fast as the others, and you need to have armor at the end to pull it off, but most people don't see it coming.
well i did a mechat'hun druid deck because I basically have no card for warlock almost.... would be impossible so yeah, been practicing them but i'm sticking with my whizbang mainly
Mechathun warlock is the way to go if you want to run that type of deck. It doesn't have the same issues as priest or druid where simple cards will totally wreck your plan and it's pretty good against aggro. Pretty much all you have to worry about is Hakkar and Mojomaster.
I would say mechathun lock is the only really viable and I say this because while druid version is not bad It's worse than playing hakkar cause hakkar is not as vulnerable as mechathun so you might as well play that if you're planning on a fatigue kinda archetype.
well I am playing hakkar that was my original deck mill hakkar togwaggle that i changed a bit to put mechathun just to change things a bit but indeed mechat'hun with warlock is just perfect, Cataclysm is made for it while as druid sometimes the opponent won't let you play your last spells

Boomship --> Malygos + Mecha'Thun --> inner rage on each --> whirlwind --> no armor needed
Wow, not a lot of love for Quest Priest with Mecha'thun here. In my opinion, with all the hunters in the current game, it's a really decent deck.
Personally added a Mass Hysteria, and together with psychic scream and lots of cheap deathrattle minions, it's a decent aggro killer. Added in a Seance for an extra Amara or needed deathrattler and you'll have plenty of options to survive and cycle.
Mecha'thun Warlock: Fast, decent board clears, does not have to empty hand/board (Cataclysm), sometimes dies to big minions
Mecha'thun Druid: Fast, decent board clears, single-target hard removal (1xNaturalize), has to worry about spending all cards and killing all minions - the most difficult variant to play
Mecha'thun Priest: Less reliable draws, Hemet plays a big role, purely minion combo (different counters, such as Explosive Runes)
Mecha'thun Warrior: Slow, does control with a win condition have a place when you die to combo decks anyway, not completely a meme still

I'm tring to do a mecha'thun hunter.... Because I am a little bored of normal decks
I played some mechatun warlock in wild legend and its not bad
got a decklist? do you run hemet?
I didnt run hemet. My list was a reno lock with mecha'thun package. I played like 20 games, winrate was about 55%.
you can try this one if you want to use hemet: https://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/1227489-ez-rank-2-mechathunlock#c39
But I personally think that a non-reno version with nzoth should be better
edit: I also tried this https://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/1229205-iyingdis-wild-spotlight-mechathun-warlock-tier-1
Its supposed to be tier 1 in China, but it didnt work for me at all...(I play in eu server)
Not much hope. Aggro is insane in Wild and Control decks are full of counters like Deathlord, Dirty Rat, Coldlight Oracle ...
Imo Warlock is the best one to run Mecha'thun with.
Me? Gongaga.

Wasn't Priest Meca'thun really big for a time?
I think the Druid version is probably the weakest.
The downside of the Warlock version is that if you get taken below 5 health, even if you are all set to win, you can't due to Bloodbloom.
Druid or Warlock are the best.

yeah but with Barkskin on Wild Pyromancer you can basically clear any board easily
