If you play wild, rexxar isnt as strong as rag, sylvanas etc because you have more value cards to beat him. Only in standard he seems op because of poor amount of cards available. There isnt many hunters played in wild but standard is full of them
I am SICK to death of losing to Rexxar. I think it is OP and also probably a lot less fun to lose to than anything else I face. Oh, and also face it constantly.
The problem with Deathstalker Rexxar isn't that he's overpowered. It's that he lets you build a 29 card deck to win fast games, then wins slow games on his own. That's bad card design.
It needs to be nerfed to 9 or 10 mana. 6 mana is way too strong for a card that allows them to come back from certain defeat or allows them to simply out value control decks. Current Hunters depending on their draw can be aggro, mid-range, or control. That is a huge problem.
Personally, I cannot wait until the DKs rotate out. Great concept but clearly not enough foresight into net-decking possibilities.
This post is meant just to stir up the beehive. He has no power in Wild because the pool of Beasts is far too big to make reliant picks. In Standard, he wins games on his own because the pool of Beasts is very good at the moment.

It isn't very good, it just sucks to lose to. It only really works against control in deathrattle hunter. In spell and secret hunter, the tempo loss is typically too much to overcome and you lose anyway, which is why it has a negative win rate when played in those decks.

Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.
As ever the problem is elsewhere, a while ago it was "Charge" and now it's "rush" these are the two keywords you look for in crafting that zombeast. Again charge is a little bit broken and poisoous rush or lifesteal rush is a little bit broken. The pool of beast allready has exclusions like the witchwoood grizzly and king of beasts this would be my only suggested change if any.

I think this is a terrific point and adds a lot to the conversation.
I thought the same the other day. The beast pool has too many rush and lifesteal minions. The zombeast you get are always usefull for any situation you face.
It's not that it's too strong, it's that it allows aggro/midrange decks to shift their gameplan to ultra-lategame with a single card. That much versatility shouldn't be possible
Personally i think dk guldan and dk jaina are worse. I mean dk guldan may not be infinite value but u get so many taunts up maybe even doomguards, for tempo decks, it might be too much to handle them. Dk jaina is almost infinite value as long as your deck relies on minions to win.
If you play with the filters on HSReplays, you can order the 100 most-played cards in Standard by their played win-rate. Deathstalker Rexxar is the third-worst card on the list. Statistically, Even decks are better off drawing and playing Genn Greymane than most Hunter decks are if they play Rexxar.
The card was meme-tier until the nerfs to Cubelock allowed Cube Hunter to flourish, because the opportunity cost of actually playing him was simply far too high for any fast Hunter list to play him. Nothing has changed since then. His played win-rate in MR Hunter is currently -14%, and in Secret Hunter and Spell Hunter it's -12%. By comparison, the played win-rate for Genn Greymane is -12%. In Cube Hunter, Rexxar has a played win-rate of -2%. Hardly great, but at least he's playable. Cube Hunter is designed to play long games, and supplements Rexxar with a powerful late-game package, allowing pilots the time to leverage Rexxar's Hero Power and recover the cost of having played him.
I don't think Deathstalker's OP. He's just a ridiculous portion of Secret/Spell Hunter decks also running Zuljin.
Secret/Spell Hunter would be a lot worse off if you could only run one of them. I don't think I can count on two hands how many times I've seen Deathstalker be played to survive by creating rush/lifesteal/taunt minions until they played all the spells they needed to throw down Zuljin today alone.
One playable hero per deck. Only nerf the game needs unless they wanna go roll out more heroes for the other classes.

So it would be ok if that card was in a control deck like reno hunter?
Rexxar enjoyed a brief spotlight after being a joke-tier death knight for much of its time in standard.
During 2017, it was the third least played death knight, in front of Uther and Garrosh. Yes, even Thrall was ahead of him in popularity do to the old doppleganger evolve and jade shamen.
You'd have to make a compelling argument based solely on the nerfs and set rotation of 2018 to substantiate the claim that Rexxar has jumped all the way from meme to a nerf target. I don't think you're going to make that claim stick.

After not having played for almost 2 years and seeing this card it certainly looked OP to me and crafted him immediately. He gets me a lot of wins when I would have ran out of steam otherwise. Most of all, it is a fun card. OP? I don`t know, but certainly very strong, just as are many other hero cards. I also have games where I am pushing for a kill and he just sits dead in your hand because you don`t want to lose tempo.

I actually don't think this is the problem at all. The problem is, as stated before you, Rexxar allows you to play 29 fast cards to win fast games and 1 card to win slow games.
If everything from Rexxar was vanilla, it'd be worse, yes, but it'd still pose the same issue.
He's bothersome but not game destroying for the few months we have left of him. In Wild he'll be easy to deal with as the card pool is too big to rely on him.
So he's an issue we can live with that will be fixed soon. If they REALLY want to fix him by removing a few key cards then fine, but we're not exactly talking about the Pirate meta of old in bad metas.

Priest and Mojomaster take him out rather easily. I do agree it’s OP though...it’s single handily kept Hunter relevant.
