Huffer is already bad enough when it just deals 4 damage and then dies to a 1 drop or 2 drop or small spell or even hero power. Huffer is already the worst one to get sometimes. It hasn't been a problem since vanilla, so I don't see why they'd change it. Huffer is only 33% of the time anyways. Making his charge into rush would make him the worst one to get 95% of the time. So yeah, I don't think they need to or even should change Animal Companion, it's actually a very balanced card. The moment they nerf Huffer charge to have rush, is probably the same moment they nerf all charge cards to be rush. I don't see that happening.
uhmmm you strike a good point about charge being rather broken but honestly a 1/3 chance of getting charge isnt too annoying, specially when one of the other options is Leokk which is rather weak unless you meet specific conditions, like having a board or either rushers or chargers.
I think you bring up a good point. Not so much that it NEEDS a nerf. But, that since they've been nerfing basic cards like crazy to keep them from being in every deck this card is probably on the chopping block.
I'll bet a nerf for it is being considered just for that reason.
But just go away? Maybe. There's a lot of basic/classic cards which are just... too familiar. I'd love to see massive amounts of these cards swept away, replaced maybe by stuff from older rotated expansions (maybe remove Wild Growth, add Darnassus Aspirant for example).
Call of the Wild and To My Side! are both really cool cards which draw from the same pool, and it'd be sweet to have more of these kinds of effects. But do we need Animal Companion on turn 3 forever? No. Variety is the spice of life, and I'd love it if Hearthstone got a bit zestier.
//
To my point, the current Brawl (Goblins vs Gnomes, The Grand Tournament, The Witchwood, and The Boomsday Project) which excludes all classic and basic cards is a really fun and interesting world of deckbuilding. Get rid of nearly everything, and filling up the card pool would be great.
I wouldn't be surprised. They are shying away from charge and more towards rush, which is understandable. Charge is not a fun mechanic to play against. I think Hunter has a lot of other problems that need to be dealt with first, not huffer. The spellstone should be like Warrior's, which is basically useless without an upgrade. I have no idea why it still summons 2 3/3 wolves even when not upgraded when all warrior's does is summon a 7 mana 5/5 if not upgraded.
Speaking of rush replacing charge. They should buff Force of Nature back to the minions having rush this time, instead of charge and they still die at the end of hte turn. Would make it viable again.
Should we nerf kill command too? How about quick shot?
An aggressive deck should be able to deal damage directly to your face, that's kind of the whole point of playing a deck like that. There are plenty of ways to make sure you don't "have 19 health on turn 3", or ways to recover from it. Something should not be nerfed just because people don't like playing against it. A card being in most decks in a class isn't always a bad thing, and while it plays a big part in what makes blizzard feel a nerf is necessary, but not the only part.

Ok. So please tell us what we can do against hunter who on turn 1 plays dire mole, turn 2 razormaw and turn 3 huffer. You call that balance?? Why you think druid is rarely played now? Thanks to hunter. So fun, so interactive
Perhaps it's worth remembering that Hunter has had a Tier One deck for over a year which has never played Animal Companion. Looking at the stats on HSReplays, Animal Companion isn't close to being the best card in any current Hunter build - unlike the recently nerfed evergreens in Mage and Druid. Of the 100 most-played cards in Standard, forty are evergreen. The played win-rate for Animal Companion is -4%, suggesting that the card isn't exactly nerf-worthy - statistically, Animal Companion is currently the eighth-best 3-mana card in Hunter.
FWIW - aimlessly bitching about random cards isn't helpful to anybody. Well-aimed bitching, on the other hand, has its purpose . . .

Are you dumb?? Winrate is such pointless stat. So shall we nerf mechathun, antonidas because of high winrate??. Did you even bother checking what the most popular cards are?? Animal companion is 4th, 22.4% in decks and you say its weak?? Wow
Hunter is BASED around face damage. The class was built around trying to kill you quickly. Unless you're facing another aggressive deck a Huffer with rush doesn't help you win the game at all.
It's like proposing that control warriors have Brawl change destroying enemy minions to instead return them to the hand (which defeats the purpose of the archtype actually wearing your opponent's resources down.
All streamers i watch say that Huffer needs rush instead of charge so people are not at 19 hp on turn 3.
They nerfed wild growth yet animal companion is played in every single hunter deck. What you guys think??
No.

LETS NERF EVERYTHING

no, 33%, fine rng-card

Galavant Animation
The only problem is Rexxar: fix him and everything will be fine-ish (maybe the Spellstone should be changed too)

I think the person who made this topic Needs a nerf. Animal companion has been stated to show when huffer is summoned.
Yeah lets nerf animal comp, prep, fireball, si7 agent, hunters mark, deathstalker rexxar, northshire cleric, zuljin, sea giant, zilliax, alexstraza, malygos, keleseth and any other card that is good, nerf all plz.
.
I didnt know a post makes people so triggered. I guess if something doesnt suit your agenda then its automatically called salt.
I don't think need nerf but in what f...... world you guys think is 1/3 chance to get the 4/2 charge? No way!!!
I play this game before Nax release and after see this card a milion times I can say for sure, is 60% 4/2 charge, 20% taunt and 20% the 2/4.
Should we nerf kill command too? How about quick shot?

5/2 rush?
