It's definitely worth it. If you are new to wild, buy both Naxxramas and League of Explorers in my opinion. Just those 2 adventures will give you 4-5 tier 1 wild legendaries (and you can dust the rest) that are all neutral (so can be used across multiple classes) plus bunch of dust and also many commons / rares you get as rewards are actually playable in some wild decks. Also the adventures are a lot of fun!

thanks dude. unfortunately I got league when I first started playing though and I ended up dusting the cards to build new decks. at least I can get naxx though so it's fine. I will just have to craft anything I need from the other 3 adventures now.
Lucky the decks I'm playing don't contain all that many cards I've already owned.
Back in the day I liked the content, but I haven't played it recently, but I think there is some fun to be had with new archetypes against the heroic bosses.
As for cards there are only Loatheb and Kel'Thuzad which I see regularly in wild. I have however encountered Feugen and Stalagg in a deathrattle quest priest once or twice. The rest of any cards from Naxx needed in wild are cheap crafts. So if you want to play with the legendaries listed, then you should buy it. if you only want/need Loatheb then craft him.
This is without considering the the fun you can have with Naxx, and if you have a decent classic collection you can try to see how the game once played. Disclaimer: I know you can not experience a 1 to 1 version of classic as blizzard have nerfed a fair number of cards into the ground
I take it I'll still be able to play through the base adventure to earn the cards without having an extensive old collection though? or are the battles really weird and need me to have old cards to get through them? I have found that this is the case on heroic in the past, but it's always been doable for the base adventure with newer cards.
Well Loatheb is worth the craft anyways. You can play it in most tempo/midrange decks in wild. Secret hunter, odd rogue etc all can play Loatheb, he is very strong, best played before turn 7 to stop Psychic scream and push for lethal.

if I was to craft loatheb and then buy naxx later, would I still get the 2nd loatheb from naxx? I really hate psychic scream. ha ha.
Since I'm a nerd for stats, at the end of every meta-game prior to the launch of a new expansion, I always take a look at the play-rates for old expansions in Wild - you can filter the "most-played cards" and look at the top 100.
Naxxramas has five cards on the list - Loatheb, Deathlord, Sludge Belcher, Voidcaller and Mad Scientist. That's a lot, given that the set only had 30 cards. By point of comparison, Boomsday and RR (with 135 cards apiece) each only have a single card among the top 100. Among expansions, Frozen Throne has the most cards on the list, with a dozen.
I think that if you play wild it is worth having. A lot of solid cards and even if not all of them are competitive, not many are strictly bad. It does have to do with how you play though since I got them all with gold over time just because some fit into gimmicks I enjoy.
Well heck! I would buy the adventure even if I wouldn't get any cards from it! It's super fun and I find myself playing it once in a while when I'm bored with other modes. Last time I remember beating KT with Mecha'thun Priest, lol.
I'll say it's worth it just because I love Naxxramas both in Hearthstone and in WoW. Had some good memories back in Vanilla, we must have been one of the few guilds that didn't disband to the notorious "guild killer", haha.
Naxxramas has aged very well. For every other Adventure I would advise just crafting the essential cards if you are tight on dust (or money), but Naxx is worth buying the whole lot if you play Wild often.

Yes of course, I do actually believe that some of the bosses will be easier with new cards and effects. I was referring to the heroic part when speaking about getting that classic feel.

Yeah I went through the adventure and I only had cards from Kobolds until now (I started playing HS when Kobolds was released). You can beat all bosses with just standard cards.
Well Loatheb is worth the craft anyways. You can play it in most tempo/midrange decks in wild. Secret hunter, odd rogue etc all can play Loatheb, he is very strong, best played before turn 7 to stop Psychic scream and push for lethal.

If you are playing hunter, you can get extra copies of Loatheb with Stitched Tracker. That's pretty sweet :D

cool. I just wasn't sure if the game will let you own 2 copies at once. I mean there's no point having 2 so you may as well dust one anyway. so if it was a case where you couldn't, you just dust the one you crafted and get it from the adventure.
reckon I won't craft him though as In wanna get the adventure so would be wasteful.
just buy it. all of the cards are either good, have the potential to be good later, or are just fun. some of them are bad *caught* Maexxna *caught*. it is worth it just to expand your collection. but if you do buy it, DONT DUST THE CARDS. you can never know what will be good later, or what meme deck you will play later. and the only to get back wild cards is to craft them, or spend some $$$. so i would buy it, and keep ALL the cards.

Rejoice, for even in death, you have become children of Thanos.
Just to add to the clamour, Loatheb is an absolute monster and the only reason I bought Naxx in the first place. He is my favourite Legendary in the entire game (followed closely by Bloodmage Thalnos) and goes into every Wild Deck I make. At the moment Loatheb has a place in DiscoLock, Jade Druid and Dragon Warrior.
Not to mention that the Adventure itself is good fun.
OK so I'd like to ask one last question regarding this.
I know how powerful Loatheb is now and I pretty much need him for my odd rogue in wild (at least once I climb the ladder and start facing the meta decks, right now I just feel bad pummelling the guys with starter decks at the bottom ranks. I've only played around 4 or 5 games max so far.)
Now I also would really like to get Naxx as it's definitely the best option on how to obtain the said card, but I don't reckon I will be able to purchase it for at least a week now.
If I'm going to want to play a lot more wild, would it be best for me to just save my dust and craft Loatheb asap, or should I wait out to buy naxx?
I mean if he's really all that important to the success of my deck in wild, I'm probably going to want it ASAP. Or do you guys think I'll be fine just adding him as soon as I can and replace with another card for now? (I was running greenskin in the place of loatheb, but I changed it for an owl for silence as another 5 drop that wasn't loatheb seemed a bit much)
here's my list anyway. am I really going to need loatheb for this to not run into serious problems once I hit the big preists and stuff? could I just run zihi for now as a place holder maybe as it least it could play around some big spells.
I mean if you're willing to spend the money and actually give a shit about the other cards and the raid itself, then you might as well wait and save your dust for something else. If you just want Loatheb though, or are laddering super aggressively, then you may as well just craft him. This isn't so much a case of how desperately your deck needs Loatheb as it is how desperately you need Loatheb, :P
ha ha, thanks man.
I crafted loatheb as it was the only card I needed immediately from the set. I still plan on getting naxx at some point, but now I don't have to spend any money to get loatheb (I got a golden ixilid and dusted it to craft loatheb. I never keep my goldens)

if you like to play Mill rogue (as you main rogue) then deathlord will be useful, and maybe sludge belcher if you want to try the n'zoth version

Golden heroes: Warlock, Druid, Mage, Hunter

But on topic, in terms of value there is Loatheb for one, but there's also Sludge Belcher, Voidcaller, Deathlord, and Mad Scientist which are all used in top performing archetypes.
To a lesser extent Death's Bite, Poison Seeds, Haunted Creeper, Nerubian Egg and Avenge see some play.

Say hello to Mister Bigglesworth won't you?
4/3/19 RIP Keith Flint. 😔
thanks guys. I will definitely pick it up as soon as I'm able.
