I made a satirical post called “Move Mindblast to the Hall of fame” and it was locked by a moderator. I’m not quite sure why, as I didn’t read anywhere in the rules that satire wasn’t allowed. Does anyone know why this got blocked?
Sky's remark: "This threads going nowhere fast. Locked." This probably means that people didn't find it as satirical as you did and/or the remarks posted in your thread weren't contributing to the community. Also alot of people make threads just like the one you did, but actually belong in the salt thread. Personally i think the amount of salt on this website is out of proportion and people should find more happy thoughts.
They are free to lock any thread without it being against the rules, in particular if it is not leading anywhere. And it wasn't since your post was inviting people who took you seriously to start flaming you (even if not intended). The following "discussion" you can already spectate in the "Mindblast" thread. There was no real value to your satirical thread.
If you violate rules, you get a warning, but violating rules is not a condition for a thread to get locked.
I believe it is because there are other active discussion of the card active at the moment. you should contribute to them instead of adding another on. And what for some is satirical is for other serious... so when there is other discussion active you are just throwing fuel on the fire.
But thats my 2 cents on the subject, if you really want to know write the mod who locked it. Do not believe that it is ok to use the forums to discussing these things, but I might be wrong on this EDIT: Kaladin answered below on discussing locking, ect...
Actions taken against a member of the community are not to be discussed in public on the forums. Opinions about specific moderators or moderator actions (locking, deleting threads, etc) are also not to be discussed in posts or threads.
If you have questions, remarks, suggestions or complaints about moderating in general or specific moderators, please contact a site administrator through a private message. A list of staff members suitable for contact can be found here.
You should probably just contact that moderator directly.

As I read it, it’s against the rules to question a mod and talk rudely about them in the forums. I assume that the mod was in the eight and that I was in the wrong. I just wanted to know why, so I asked the community. It makes sense though, so I’ll drop it now.
One man's satire is another man's salt, as they say...
Perhaps your humour was a little too thickly veiled in a barely-disguised attempt at pretending not to be salty about a spell that caused you to lose recently? Who knows....

I didn’t make the thread in response to losing to mind blast, I made it in response to the mindblast thread. I understand where you’re coming from, but the only salt I was feeling was the fact that the size of the OG mindblast thread was just stupid.

Fair enough - it's only that it came across in that way. :-) I'm a little surprised by the Mind Blast thread size myself - but look at it this way: if people are getting upset by a naff card like Mind Blast, tehn it means that there arent that many seriously OP cards for them to complain about any more. Mind Blast has been around since the beginning of Hearthstone. It can hardly be claimed that it's taken this many years for people to suddenly realise it's actually S-Tier! ZOMG! Heheh!
I think threads are locked without justification at times. I made a New Years resolution thread stating that I wish to be less toxic to the community and that I hope others will follow suit. Got locked right away before it received even 1 post. I quickly contacted a moderator to ask why and recieved no reply.
Sorry your post got locked. A shame people quickly write “salt thread” without thinking outside the box.

Funnily enough I was briefly considering writing a thread post along the lines of : "My name is Scorpyon and I am a salty player..." I decided against it in the end, but sometimes you want to just admit that you're not the most level-headed player when you lose this game, but it's ok. It happens. Just the acknowledgement of that has helped improve my state of mind. Something that helps me when I play is to treat every game like I am playing against a computer AI, not a player. And I make sure to Squelch every game from the start. That way, if I lose, I simply curse the AI being better than me and move on. Might sound silly, but it has at least helped me. :-)
