So with the nerf to saronite chaingang that took place due to the issue with shudderwok. I’m curious why they didn’t do the same to dopplerganger. It’s the same. Battlecry mechanic, except 2 spawn of the Same minion and it cost only 1 more.
Been seeing a lot of shamans running it and was curious was if they hit saronite why not do the same to dopplerganger.
The simple answer is that Blizzard doesn't care about wild. Additionally, doppleganer does not have taunt which makes it not as strong since it makes stalling harder.
My gut is that since doppel is wild only and the power level is higher there they were fine with the shudderwock combo. But in standard where the power level is lower and there are less counters available it was a problem. Hence why only saronite was nerfed.
Cause blizzard is probably the most inconsistent company of all time and they also don't care about wild, unless it's something way too busted like naga giants or ak 47 druid then it's not problematic enough, just look at barnes, that card is insane and incredibly unfun to play against but blizz will never adress it.
Also it's not like shudder is problematic on wild anyways, I'm not defending them but stil.

Doppelganger is a wild card and in wild control decks have things like Dirty Rat and Coldlight Oracle as a counter. Shudderwock shaman is anyway not a problem in wild as much as it was in standard.
It's not just about Shudderwock, Saronite was a very strong and versatile card that was being used in a ton of decks in standard. Doppelganger has only ever been used in Shaman with the evolve combo and now with Shudderwock.

You clearly don't remember the Aviana nerf.
