i am climbing with even shaman right now in the rank 10 segment. and one of the hardest matchups is against other even shamans. i feel like the only thing to do is hope you get a better curve and get ahead on tempo. what should i do here? (this is in wild)
Try getting your Things from Below / Sea Giants out as early as possible while simulatenously making sure you don't make it easy for your opponent to do so. Also, save Devolves for Flamewreathed Faceless and maybe add a Lich King to your deck, it's a great card in general and from time to time you'll be able to just cheese out wins with Army of the Dead. You're right in that it's mostly a tempo match-up, but there really isn't a whole lot you can change regarding the actual deck.

Army of the dead is one hell of a card in Even Shaman. I somehow managed to pull my Argent Commander, Flametongue and Al Akir in that order and bursted my opponent with 18 dmg to face down. Lich King is a must for this deck IMO.
I like them instead of Chain Gang. Especially our nemesis Warlock does have a hard time to kill a turn 3-4 6/6 with no overload, followed up by a 4 mana 7/7. ;)
In my limited experience with Even Shaman laddering, I have noticed that value wins the mirror.
The Lich King, Hagatha the Witch, but even a Elemental and/or Taunt package. Stuff like that wins you games by stalling the board, and running the opponent out of steam faster than you do.
Ancestral Knowledge might be the best compromise, without running an exceedingly slow deck.
any changes do you think i should make to improve my mirror matches?
I think that Hagatha the Witch is a great card in this deck that can win you many games in which you lost tempo or your board was cleared 2-3 times by opponent's AoE and you are left with no cards in your hand (Renolock, Control Warrior) or you are not able to stop waves of your opponent's small minions that are potentially dangerous (Odd Paladin). In these matchups you have to "rely on" cards like Sea Giant (drawn fast enough to deal 16 or even 24 dmg with it, before your opponent can use his single-target removal) or Maelstrom Portal to kill another aggro deck's small minions

Rejoice, for even in death, you have become children of Thanos.

Dab
I would recommend adding 1 or 2 of the following cards for a better mirror matchup:
The missing Ancestral Knowledge: Mid- to late game the one who draws more cards is more likely to win.
A lone Hex: It can take out the big dude and is also useful against priests.
Test 1 or 2 Fireguard Destroyer: An early big minion can dominate the board and the more big 4-drops the better!
What i would take out: The Saronite Chain Gang (as i never tested this card, i can not offer an opinion on them).
acutally chain gangs are very useful as they are good tempo, and help a lot in the aggro matchup.

Dire Wolf Alpha is a consideration too.
I like Draenei Totemcarver over Fire Elemental.

Always expect the unexpectable!
Start by not running suboptimal builds of the easiest and strongest deck in the game.
Remove those saronites and anchestral knowledges immediately. Add two dire wolves alpha for early game trading and two piloted shredders.
Thing from below is one of your biggest swing cards in this matchup, keep it. Don't EVER go face with jade claws unless you can set up lethal with it.
Oh and contrary to what that guy earlier said, you don't run Hex in wild even shaman. That card just isn't good enough.
dont worry, i would never run hex.

Which wasn't the matchup OP asked about.
Also don't run Hagatha, lol. Lich King is debatable but Hagatha has no place in wild even Shaman, one look at hsreplay should tell you why.
Why don't you run destroyers? They are amazing in mirrors
