Id honestly be fine with meta if they cut the damn turn timers into a quarter of what they are currently
Some decks need that entire turn timer (I can think of at least two decks atm).
However, even without any specific decks taken into consideration shorter turn timers will generally decrease the claim of a skill ceiling for the game at some point. Sure there is skill for making snap decisions in the moment but not every aspect of skill is determined by that. There's a reason many strategies games give you plenty of time to think before having to make a move (I'd also like to point out that the overwhelming amount of plays in HS tournaments at HCTs and worlds go to almost the turn timers, there's a reason for that).
I play fatigue priest. Avg about 15-20 mins per game, provided my opponent is not slow af
the fact that fatigue priest is a thing in standard proves my point.
Fatigue priest is standard ? lol. Are you even playing the same game ?
play vs a mechathun…. they pull out the mechathun and then it gets destroyed same turn, no counter to it
Even in standard this is really only the case against Mecha'Thun Lock (and even then some counters can still hit it).
Mana Wraith is a legit counter to Mecha'Thun Priest if you wait til their hand size is down to the appropriate level, rendering the combo unplayable. Same goes for Mecha'Thun Druid. The only thing that would stop this from working is if they were sitting on a 0 mana Pounce or Silence (which honestly they usually wouldn't do because this is not a common tech used against them). As warlock you should also always win against these two Mecha'Thun decks as control. Simply sit on Demonic Project and instantly win the game. If the Mecha'Thun Priest hemets and you play Gnomeferatu and you have drawn it you can also instantly win the game if you don't hit something like a Psychic Scream.
I'm fine with games being longer most of the time. If you have fast metas then you just run into the whole aggro/burn Yu-Gi-Oh metas where you end up not seeing almost any meaningful percentage of the released cards seeing play.If control or combo decks never live to produce a long game then you might as well not even release higher cost cards since they end up as wasted space. And as many have already mentioned fast games even more heavily turns the game into a giant coin flip that is even easier to predict the outcome of a game based on the mulligan you receive.
You can easily keep a silence to counter that "counter". That's not an appropriate counter, I'm sorry.
did you not see my ss? People hitting legend now....
I call that impressive that they hit high legend this fast with slow decks (cubelock is not, but at least the druid one). What is your problem with slow decks? They are not better nor worse. Just a different playstyle.

And yet none of the Mecha'Thun priests are in fact holding onto their silences so yes it would be. They can't silence an underdog counter if they don't expect it and spend their silence willy nilly. Control Warrior can also use the 2/6 that summons 3 1/1 raptors & brawl. I watched a video recently where somebody won against a Mecha'Thun Druid precisely because of that play. And like I mentioned before you should NEVER lose against Mecha'Thun Priest as Control Warlock because unless the priest is playing multiples of their combo pieces for some reason then Demonic Project will always hit a combo piece.

I'm holding it every time, worst case you use it on your 4/6 after playing everything out.
I never doubted that demonic project is the best counter available, but why do you need more? Especially when its counterable and hurts your other matchups significantly.
Wtf, I dont get it how people can enjoy playing brainless odd paladin or tempo rogue instead of control and combo decks. Its waay more interesting than just hitting face...
watching legend #8 America vs #23 , control druid vs cubelock ……
I guess in your world that control decks and combo decks shouldn't exist at all? Regardless of how fast or slow the meta is you will still see games like that, unless you get rid of control and combo decks completely. Even if 99% of the game is aggro these matchups will still happen at some point.
This is entirely your own problem and the fact that you had to make a thread for this probably means you're desperate for some attention. Hey, at least it worked! Four pages already...

Correct.
That would make for a very boring game. If every matchup is aggro vs aggro the game gets stale after a day or two, just like the game would get stale if only control existed and every matchup was control vs control.

chess is the ultimate strategy game and it have a timer.
i know some turns need a extra time but most ones dont need 1:30. let's say every turn lasts 1 minute and you have 3 extra minutes you can spend whenever you want and if you end your turn faster the unused time add to the extra you have.

No it wouldn't? Aggro vs Aggro is the only matchup that isn't a foregone conclusion.

Do you call that high? I'd consider Top 25 Legend as high and never peaked there. My best was 44.

The games are as fast as the deck you're playing.
