i got legend the first two seasons of hearthstone when it was first released. When i play another player and they see my legend back are they like "oh this guys prolly pretty good" or is it more of like a "oh no biggie ill win"
When I see another player with a legend card back I instantly assume they are playing either a meme deck or a super competitive deck. So yea kinda receives my respect, I have the card back as well but eh don't bother using it

i got it back in the day when you would run rush huunter, and then use bird--leeroy--houndmaster with a timberwolf, it seemed pretty setup based. Not as a pally lool.
Hmm depends what kind of deck the opponant plays. If it's a difficult deck than i guess it's a very goood player otherwise i think oh he can just grind - thats all
Honestly speaking it doesn't matter if someone got legend with odd pala, pirate rogue or meme decks, it's still an impressive achievement which requires lots of time and passion for this game.
I personally haven't get past rank 13 because the lack of time to play. As a family father my priorities are somewhere else but I still enjoy playing this game like on the first days (started with Old Gods as far as I can remember).
Tried to make it to legend, stopped at rank 4 because it took forever to get there and I simply didn't have the time.
It's not hard. HearthStone is rarely ( or never, depending on deck ) a game where you need to strongly consider your options. Whenever I watch a stream, 99% of the time I guess the move they're gonna make, and that 1% of the time is either a brilliant move I somehow missed, or a lot more often, a blunder, gaffe or mistake. I even get it close to the hunter DK hero power choices.
Although some people may consider legend to be a prestigious rank, from my perspective it's just a lot of time invested in the game with a netdecked deck.

Now you get someone to 1 health and they put one card out and they have 30 health and then deal 15 damage and you somehow jusut went from a for sure win to a K.O and are like wtf just happened. Cool.
I got the cardback in september. Played 3 days with it and changed it back.
Was it an achievement? Yeah Kind of. But i gotta say i had to change decks at rank 3 and craft keleseth. But at least it was Not a braindead deck. Ist was just pretty good vs all the Druids
Getting legend once doesn't matter, only the winrate will tell the difference between a good or a bad player.
Most of people obtain legend with winrate between 52-55%, this is why it take forever to grind. Anyway, there is not so much difference between legend and rank 4 to 1, unless you are high legend.

That's sad.
Missing lethal since February 2014.
It only takes time.
It's just grind, grind, grind.
I barely notice if they have the Legend card back, cuz it doesn't mean anything to me.

When I see it I auto assume they made legend the previous month with "flavor of the month broken deck" and need to show said card back
to gain acceptance from the hearthstone community, or some false sense of acknowledgement that they might not be getting elsewhere.
if you are 100% F2P and achieved legend it might be prestigious.
Depends whom you ask. But, I still think its impressive. It is, if nothing else, a considerable effort.
A never-Legend Dad who keeps making rank 2 or 1, but then sliding.
Rumbling around Gurubashi Arena. Shirvallah is the best loa. Go Tigers!

Just depends on your commitment to the game. For a casual player that doesn't play all the time yeah it's still a big achievement.

i personally never put a penny into the game.
Back when i played you didnt need to.

I consider it as a decent investment in time to get there. Not that they're bad or good players because I've ran into both.
after reading this thread i feel like a worse hearthstone player for getting legend.
you can say "i get rank 5 every month" and they will think "they are committed to this game"
but when you say "i hit legend every month" people say "have fun netdecking and ruining this game with your none stop grinding aggro"
Rejoice, for even in death, you have become children of Thanos.
Easy to get there, just a huge time investment.
