Hi all. I've been thinking a lot about the HS card market, collection methods, and currency recently. I think many would agree that the system in place now can be improved upon, whether that be adjusting dust collected through disenchanting, methods of obtaining gold, items for sale in the shop, etc.
One thing that I've always thought would be cool would be "Structure Decks" that rotate in and out of the store. They could have a set dust value by providing the same ratios of card per deck. Example: 2 Legendary Cards, 6 Epic Cards, 8 Rare Cards, and 14 Common Cards. The idea is that whole decks would cost less as a bundle than crafting individual cards. Decks would be available for purchase once to prevent someone from abusing the system just to make capitalize on the dust from disenchanting all the cards in the deck. Some deck ideas would be: (1.) 1x The Last Kaleidosaur, 1x Lynessa Sunsorrow, 1x Dinosize, 1x Gluttonous Ooze, 2x Immortal Prelate, 2x Call to Arms, plus some Rares and Commons; or, (2.) 1x High Priestess Jek'Lik, 1x Clutchmother Zavas, 1x Twisting Nether, 1x Big Game Hunter, 2x Soulwarden, 2x Cataclysm, and some Rares and Commons.
The goal of this would be to allow for more players to get exactly cards they want without having to buy packs hoping for a lucky pull, or disenchant cards. Because the decks would rotate in and out of the store daily, consumers would have more of a reason to make a snap purchase, which would be good for Blizz. Not sure how to balance the system to maximize the incentive for both Blizzard and consumers without taking advantage of either.
Another thing I think could be interesting is an "Upgrade" option when collecting Golden cards. "Upgrading" would be converting a non-golden card into a golden copy at a reduced dust cost.
I'm interested to hear others' opinions on the subject, as I may be approaching this topic with a narrow view.
The RNG aspect of buying packs hoping for a specific legendary or having to save up dust is a major part in what gets players to buy more card packs... it's more of a monetary win for them to keep it that way... Unless they do your option but increase the cost in order to kill the RNG
