I got jan'alai and myraster luna on packs recently....begin using the odd mage but i got stuck at rank 12-13..... am i doing something wrong or the deck is not strong at all?
Odd Mage according to the mass data has over a 50 percent winrate, which basically means even the bad players can get wins. If you're going to craft something, it's a smart short and longterm investment for your whole collection.

If you thought you knew what you think I know, then you'd know I knew you knew I know.
Odd Mage has been awesome for me. Definitely one of the highest performing decks I've played. The only deck that seems to beat it is Spell Huntard and that's almost exclusively because of how utterly broken Zul'jin is.
Case in point: I played a game earlier today. I was on 18 health, with 4 (yes 4!) Water Elementals on the board. Opponent was on 6 health. No cards in hand. Empty board. Opponent top decks Zul'jin I didn't get another turn.....
That's how broken that card is. It's absolutely retardedly overpowered. It makes Gul'dan and Shudderwock look like Magma Ragers in power comparison.
Anyway. Back on topic. If you are playing against any other non-broken deck that isn't in desperate need of a nerf, then Odd Mage is simply awesome and definitely worth a try at least. I've had a very good winrate with it. Probably around 60%. (That's a rough guesstimate. I don't have the stats to hand)
The trick with Odd mage is that it's NOT a combo deck. You are NOT trying to win off the back of Rag. Rag himself is a reckless thing that can be easily foiled through removal or lots of tokens.
Odd Mage is in essence a Tempo deck. Your hero power represents a combination of always accessible removal and a way to preserve value (which is always a problem with Tempo decks). But your main tools are your elementals. You uses your early tools to keep your opponent from controlling the board, then the second they slow down (to card draw or because of a bad turn or whatever) you stop dropping your elementals to take the board. If they keep you off the board by midgame you uget access to elementals that can double as removal and the ability to drop elementals while hero powering down other things.
The second you have the board, your spells make sure you NEVER **EVER** lose it.
Jan becomes nothing more than a cog in the plan, Just Another Threat among all of the others to keep flinging out, notable only because it's turn 7-10 so the threat has to be bigger, but still just another threat.
It's Tempo so Midrange decks will trouble you (hi hunter). Control decks NORmaLLY would eat you alive but your Deathknight provides a trump card against them. You'll want to focus more on board control and stalling against aggro and go more aggressive against slower decks.
and you never EVER want to lose control of the board. The second you are using spells purely to keep your opponent back with no follow up, you're dead.

It's kinda tier3 for ladder.
What decks are good for climbing....besides kingsbane
To be honest you can climb with everything at those ranks, just keep playing.
I'd suggest you not to craft any decks untill the next standard rotation.
Vicious Syndicate lists odd-mage in tier 2. What decklist are you using?.

I would say Odd mage is a great deck to climb. I did it myself from rank 8-3. Just keep playing to improve!
Det är bättre med en fågel i hand, än tiger i träd!

odd mage is fine for climbing
Odd mage took me to rank 2, then I struggled a lot so I picked malydruid for fast legend. Malydruid is an absolute beast in this meta.

One does not simply walk into Mordor,
unless they want to be the best they can be.
oh i dont have it now i am at work.....i can show later
can you give me your decklist?
about that....the death lich jaina is a core card? i dont have it ;-;
Frost Lich Jaina is 100% core to Odd mage... it's your win condition most of the time.
I'd rather have Jaina than Jan'alai. She's THAT important.
The deck becomes just a very weak tempo deck with no end game pressure. Control decks will eat you alive.
If you grabbed Stargazer Luna, it might be better to aim for burn perhaps? I don't know.

i think that the agro version is good enought to climb
tier 2 is not bad
Creer es poder
Tier 2 is very good. Tends to mean it's not defining the meta but it IS able to counter the meta decks.
Not familiar with the Aggro version though. "Aggro" and "Hero Power" doesn't make sense to me so I'd love to see how it looks.

It's probably the strongest deck against long game decks that run the game on for a while, but any kind of aggro deck can beat it
I'm Nate and I enjoy writing. I got kicked off of my school newspaper so I figured I'd bring my passion to my favorite game.
it'a not a good deck. Jaina is really not that important, the burn tempo version is by far superior
