Hey guys, Ive been playing Kingsbane rogue ever since its release and loved the deck. However, I never crafted Captain Green-skin since I thought it was not that important. Now i am debating whether or not to craft it. So my question is, 'How Integral is Captain Green-skin to Kingsbane?' I have never had a problem with playing the deck without, I want to know how much the deck benefits with him.
If you're in Valeera-Mode he's simply +2/+2, also if you were geisted he's maybe your savior... otherwise I think it's ok to run the deck without him, but consider in a mirror-match you could autolose because your opponent plays him...
So far I have not had a mirror match-up with this deck but I can see how the value would play out. I picked up the deck again at rank 8 and im currently on a 7-1 streak. I replaced greenskin with an acidic swamp ooze (or gluttonous ooze would be better but I dont feel like wasting the dust). It may seem like an odd card, but it really pays off against decks that run either kingsbane, twig, or vinecleaver which seem to be dominating the meta.
greenskin seems good. But kingsbane rogue basically alreaddy wins against control and greenskin is mostly better in the control match up. Greekskin is good but you should be fine
Cpt Greenskin is a very good card. I was lucky to get him from packs, as well as Valeera and Kingsbane himself. :)
Greenskin is good when...
1) ...played on curve; and is the only good midgame threat.
2) ...doubled with Valeera for +2, +2. Durability is good midgame, turn10...; although (in fatigue) it can be an issue, because you want to destroy Kingsbane in order to play replica; on the other hand durability is very important if you play vs. eg. Control Warlock who waits to discard the weapon (the only other way is to save a tutor card... or win before, lol). (I don't understand why people don't play Drakkari Trickster yet?!
Still, it's possible to play without Greenskin. What I miss from the current Kingsbane build is a single-target removal (Sap isn't enough). You can add something like Vilespine, Assassinate or Walk the Plank... During Witchwood I used Assassinate with Valeera vs. Taunt Druid to kill Lich Kings and stuff.
Here's one Willd deck which doesn't play Greenskin, but unfortunately does play some other expensive stuff (replaceable):
Hmm im just really stingy. I have 7.2k dust but im not sure still. I dont mind the lack of single target removal, since kingsbane itself heals for so much. I really miss cold light oracle. It was one of the most entertaining cards to use. The best part about it was making a cube warlock back in the day burn up to 4 cards and then just destroy his whole board with a vanish. Man that was such an insane card in the deck, it would win me games.

What's your replacement if I may ask?

Yeah that is what i was thinking. Greenskin isn't necessary but he does provide a good five drop in a deck that has close to none.
