Does anybody really play Raid Leader and Stormwind Champion in the WILD versions of Odd paladin? There are much better cards available in the format...
If anything they promote creativity and get you to include cards that normally would never see play.
I mean Raid Leader is in a tier 1 deck. RAID LEADER!
I'll admit that's maybe the best argument for it. Stormwind Champion, Raid Leader, Windfury Harpy, and others would never have see play without genn or baku. That's cool, but I don't think it compensates for the problems. As for the promote creativity, that's doubtful. Sure, the first people who put Raid Leader in odd pally were being creative, but 90% of the playerbase either bases or copies their decks off others from the internet. Creativity only applies to the small percent that are innovators. The rest of the people running odd pally are just copying.
ITT: the problem isn't the Odd/Even deck restriction but people netdecking the most refined lists out there. Honestly, when did you encounter someone playing e.g. Maly Druid/Cubelock/Spell Hunter/Shudderwock Shaman who didn't use the same core set of cards as everyone else?
Whether you like it or not but that's a non-issue since it was, is and will be around forever in a game such as Hearthstone.

Why would would I want to play Many Druid/Cubelock/Spell Huntert/Shudderwock Shaman or for that matter ANY OTHER deck WITHOUT the proper core cards.
I play to win. Part of that is learning the core and the flex cards in EVERY deck I play. Which not only helps me play those decks, but also helps when I play against them.
This is simply the required preparation to play the game. Similar to how competitive chess players have to memorize openings 15 to 25 moves deep.
I really like the concept of cards that limit the cards you can put in your deck. Kazakus, Reno, the princes, baku and genn all led to new decks. But I do think that some of these cards are simply toopowerful. Looking at the winrate of even shaman and odd rogue in wild I think baku and genn should indeed be nerfed a bit. (Together with barnes, but that is a different topic.). I think if the winrate of those decks drops a few percentages the meta would be a lot better...
I think that a good solution to both baku and genn would be to change the ‘start of game’-part of the cards to ‘ifthiscard is in your opening hand’ and ensure that (similarly to the quests) the card will always appear in your starting hand. This way the only way to get the benefit of baku and genn would be keep it in your opening hand, which will ensure even shaman and odd rogue will not snowball so easily anymore because they have a clunky 6 or 9 card in their opening hand. This might just be the minor nerf these two cards need without changing the idea behind them.

If you don't play to win, you are a loser.
