Title says all. I played my Maly Gonk druid to legend yesterday morning, then Okay Shaman to legend on a friend's account last night. I don't mean to post a brag thread but with all the negativity floating around about the meta, kingsbane and hunter recently, I thought I'd let people know it's possible to reach legend with off-meta/new decks and fun concepts. Don't be afraid to experiment!
I had fun too. Reaching legend isn't a grind when you're having games you'd play for fun in the first place. Too often I see people complaining about how grindy it is. If you feel this way, maybe try playing some decks you actually enjoy for a change ... having fun is the entire point of a game, after all
I think I've said enough about Gonk Druid around these forums already. TL;DR, people think you're Maly druid and get rekt by Gonk or vice versa. Gonk is just an all around good addition to Maly Druid for extra punch, though I doubt it'll ever show up in a big tournament because then people can actually see your Gonk in the decklist
The shaman was surprisingly good and I really recommend it to anyone who has the dust. Okay shaman got hit hard by the giggling nerf and the creator actually retired the deck as unplayable after. The addition of Krag'wa, the Frog. Zentimo and Bog Sloshers have made it viable again. The synergies that Krag'wa and zentimo have with Unstable Evolution are extremely powerful (and fun). Double Gluttonous Ooze also did an insane amount of work in this deck. If you're looking to reach legend right now with any deck that can fit them, I highly recommend teching these guys in, they're super lit in the current meta
Anyway, I love the game and that's why I play. This expansion has been one of my favorites. I love you all here at Hearthpwn too, of course. Good luck climbing, remember to have fun and stay positive <3
I have been playing Shaman with Kragwa and Zentimo but can't get the tempo right...
Ah, it's an off-meta shaman created by Ike back in early Boomsday. It can play like a tempo deck but the deck can also fatigue odd warriors when played right. The main idea is to play a bunch of good battlecry minions and evolve them with unstable evolution and DK. The battlecry minions double as fuel for shudderwok, though the wok in this deck doesn't aim to OTK like real shudderwok decks. Here is my list

All the legends! Lol. I'm 14k dust off crafting that deck XD

Ha. That's why I had to do this one on a friend's account f2p btw
If you want to play a cheaper version, you could probably cut Kalimos, Zola and the corpsetaker package for classics like MC tech or something. They aren't important
People dont undesrtand that sadly. Humans in general want to have everything asap. So they push fun to second plan and chose to grind with decks they dont rly enjoy but have high wr.

Haha - I'm so much closer than you. **looks up dust needed**
Dust Needed: 13,400
Yeah I'm with you mate - never gonna play this deck :P Agree with the comments that emphasize the importance of having fun in HS - it's not always about the win rate every game.

Wow, congratz NightCrawl3r for hitting Legend twice in one day!!! This expansion is one of my favorites too. And thanks to you for always being so positive and polite! :)
Nightmare, can you post some games of this Shammie deck in action? I've played three games and drawn an obscenely heavy hand each time. If I don't have board by T3, I've gone on to lose. I'm struggling to see the Tempo aspect of this.
Losses thus far to Big Mage, Mech Warrior and the flavour of the month Spell Hunter. Tips appreciated.
Those are wild cards! :) I haven't played wild much for 2 expansions so I can't say if this deck is totally out powercreeped over there. It probably is. However, I think it's safe to say Thaurissan isn't a good fit because he only reduces things by one each. 8 mana Malygos and 6 mana Gonks aren't much better than the originals
As for faceless, I actually considered using it over Taldaram. Not running howls make you squishy and that makes facetanking stuff harder. The advantage of Taldaram is that you don't need to reduce anything to copy a Gonk in one turn and pounce on things. I'd say the faceless, howls and poison seeds are worth a try, though I'm really not optimistic about playing without twig. Twig is in every Maly druid and in this deck, it's even better because of the Gonk synergy. I'd had games where I coined a Gonk with pounce on 6 into a UI on the same turn

This shaman isn't always a tempo deck. If your hand is fat, you might want to play for value instead. A stack of unstable evolution from the frog can generate more threats than anyone can deal with
In the early turns you generally only hero power or play out some garbage minions. That's fine. Turn 4, you play chain gang or corpsetaker. If the opponent isn't interacting with your board, fungalmancers or evolve lets you go on the offensive. If they're clearing your board, you keep playing taunts and AOE until they run out of things. The main "tempo" part of the deck comes in the mid-late game where you make power plays like evolving a creeper/fungalmancer/damaged minions or evolving with zentimo
This deck should excel against control mage, unless I suppose they DK early and the water eles get out of hand. Mech warrior doesn't seem to exist for me ... I've only seen odd warrior with and without dragons and those are auto wins via fatigue. My record against hunter is about even; the oozes help a bit. If your fighting a lot of aggro, you can try putting the MCTs back in. I removed them because they don't seem to be right in this meta but maybe they'll work for you

Gratz mate. I have an off-topic question:
I really want to play this deck, since the Gonk combo looks fun. However I miss Twig of the World Tree and Prince Taldaram. How essential are they? Can't I just use Emperor Thaurissan and Faceless Manipulator instead? Could I also use Ferocious Howl and Poison Seeds in order to delay my opponent?
+1
Nice reference.
