The developers admitted back then, that they thought this was the perfect time: Have some crazy good Reno decks in Standard, but only for a short while. Zul'JIn is much the same, with most of Hunter's spellpower coming from KnC.
We can dust the set after it goes to wild, also if we play daily we can get 40-60 gold+55 gold quest(average),and you can make 1 pack a day with ease,3 months until next xpac=> 90x100=9k gold,if you buy the small pre-purchase you get 107 packs+6 at release(and maybe 1 extra more for some event like we had this xpac) and you get 114 packs. After you disenchant the garbage cards+ golden ones you have everything.Blizzard business model is free=wait and have patience months and months and not free=get all you want in 1 2 days.I have a good collection and spend very very little."Patience is the greatest virtue!".
I'd say most people don't have enough time to play the game daily for the amount of time required to make that 40-60 gold + 55 gold. That said I don't necessarily disagree that Blizzard's business model in Hearthstone is relatively fair.
I’d better have something worthy for priest and paladin. I play meme spell hunter in wild, but I want my main decks get something useful. Was lucky to get a single card I want, now I do not know how to spend dust though.
There will always be Hunter spells, especially since it is a secret class. So long as there are hunter spells, then Zul'jin will be a good card.
And yes, Blizzard has in the past pushed a "weak" archetype right before rotation (Dragon Priest with Drakonid Operative, Discolock in this expansion). Just that spell hunter wasn't that weak going into this set, but then again, Zul'jin was probably planned 8 months ago.
Zul'jin got a lot of people excited and so many will craft it, if they don't open it in the pack. In fact, many might craft more Spell Hunter cards, if they are missing them. And I'm not saying the deck isn't fun to play or that it's not competitive. The thing is though the deck will be dead for all intents and purposes very shortly, i.e. as soon as we enter the next rotation. And then they will need to switch to a different deck and spend dust on crafting that. Blizzard's business acumen is top notch.
This is actually a good thing, and the way it should be done. It's okay to have very high power level decks for 3 months or so. It's a bad thing to have the same deck be at that level for half a year. Ex. Raza Priest.
i consider Zul'jin as kazakus and Drakonid ooperative, giving their decks a last breath of life before they rotate out and players a reason to at least try wild

Standard is also a great business move from blizzard because of players like you who dust their wild cards for 1/4th of their value.
Wild is fun, wild is great, the archetype will never die.
I have beaten spell hunter twice in tavern brawl with the warrior dragon deck recipe with one change, acolyte out, 1/3 supercollieder weapon in, with getting them to fatigue, talk about oppresssive decks this warrior has to be in the discussion

This is what I have been trying to tell people. The rate of appearance in the meta of spell hunter is not commensurate with the power level of the deck. It is driven by enthusiasm for the card. Wait a week and you will be seeing a lot more Mage, Warlock, and Druid. There are simply better builds out there.

I never understood how most people in the hearthstone community define "soon". To me, several months is not soon. That's a long time. That is hundreds of games, at least. 1600 dust for the card, even if you have to craft all the supporting cards, and getting those hundreds of games worth out of it is still a pretty good investment assuming you like to play hunter.
Sometimes I expect to see someone saying don't bother crafting things at the start of the new year - after all, they will rotate "very soon" (if you compare 1 year to, say, the age of the universe).

I understand the argument people make in favor of Wild, but I actually like the cards rotating out, makes me try new stuff on a regular basis.
Control Warrior, Odd Warrior, and Dragon Warrior have been among my easiest matchups actually, I think I haven't lost a single one. DK Rexxar carries Hunter in those. They are very long matchups often going into fatigue, but very favorable in the end.

Same. I just plan to fatigue from the start and hard mulligan for Rexxar. Haven't lost yet even when Rexxar was card number 20.
It depends on the meta, if there is more aggro, then the spell hunter is better, right now with a lot of hunters played, then the top end beast minions is better for the mirrors, and against control. I don't see it as oppressive. Wait until you run into the new and improved Taunt Druids, the complaining threads is coming soon for them.

Zul'jin is a safe craft. It will see play in almost every hunter deck once both Spell Hunter and Rexxar rotate, don't worry.
If you think this was a clever move, you apparently forgot about how Kazakus, Raza the Chained, Inkmaster Solia and Krul the Unshackled were introduced one expansion before Reno Jackson would rotate out.

Dead as in april rotation? there is a thing called "Wild" where the deck will still exist with its full potential

4 solid months until the middle of April.

We still got Wild 🤣🤣
