I've opened a lot of packs, 172 to be precise, and feel that my collection kinda sucks. Managed to go from rank 17 to almost 20 trialling decks. I crafted Halazzi, the Lynx as I love Quest Hunter. It's the best of the decks I've trialed so far. Bumping into a lot of Kingsbane Pirate Rogue (is this the most powerful aggressive deck now?) and Spell Hunter.
I also mucked around with Jan'alai, the Dragonhawkwhich seems pretty good, unless you end up against an aggro that plays Kelseth on turn 2, or a turn 6 DK Rexxar, which I'm seeing a lot of today. Couldn't get the discolock to work, but I'm missing the new legendary. (I've got all the other standard ones). Might go back to that later. I also tried standard 'big priest' using the new control cards. Didn't go so well, but I might take them to wild.
Just feeling like this release is a whole lot more competitive than the Boomsday release. Not sure if in the last release I stuck to casual over standard, but it's draining me. Was so pumped to play it! It also feels that this set, as a stand-alone, is hard to build decks around. It seems like most people are playing one or two new cards, mixed with old decks, rather than whole new playstyles.
Just dusted my extras (that I can't see being nerfed) and have 2675 dust. I do have a few golden legendary cards--3 from Boomsday pre-order, man, I scored twice the legendary cards with half the packs in that set--which I could dust to build some decks, but I'm really unsure how I want to spend my dust. I, stupidly, crafted a bunch of cards before release as I was being impatient. I just had to blow my dust on a pair of Vilespine Slayer, a Mossy Horror, The Lich King, Prince Keleseth, and Bloodreaver Gul'dan. And, I'm still yet to craft Zilliax.
But right now, I want to play some Rastakhan theme decks! I like the look of pirate rogue, but feel it really needs Kingsbane, which is about to rotate. People have said Gonk is fun, and I have him, just don't have any of the necessary druid epics, nor pre-boom legends. I also like the look of the new Hunter character, which may be where I throw my dust. Again, his value seems much better if you have the legendary weapon from Kobolds (I've only got the warrior one). I play wild, but unsure if I want to craft the cards that are about to rotate.
Keen to know if anyone is having fun (and success) with Rastakhan synergy decks, or wants to offer advice on how to blow my dust. Might opt to be a little careful from here on in. Have spent over $250 (AUD) on this set already, and don't feel I've got my money's worth.
I've been playing something similar in standard, and i can confirm that right now, odd mage is busted over there as well. Pyromaniac is beyond amazing, and has been doing work for me. Throw in an elemental package (fire fly, Blazecaller, Baron Geddon), a secret package (Dalaraan Mage, explosive runes, mirror entity), and you have a deck they never seems to run out of value. Not so good against odd pally, as there's no decent aoe for clearing small dudes (all of it is 5-7 mana). If odd pally remains as prevalent as it was last expac, then this deck will probably not make the cut.
Just won a game with Dragon Warrior (well, dragons and mechs!). Was a long game. Opponent his DK Jaina, and we just kept trading. All they had were two cards left in hand, then disconnected. I still had a few in the library.
I've played seven games at low ranks with (Wild) Odd Mage w/Jan'alai and have really enjoyed myself thus far. I've never actually run an odd/even deck before so my list is doubtless a little unrefined (I've had many turns where my mana usage has been a bit wonky), but it's currently at 6-1 so I can't have completely fucked it up, :P
Triggering Jan'alai is a complete joke in Odd Mage, especially with Daring Fire-Eater. Dropping Jan'alai is a fairly substantial tempo swing, especially if preceded by Brann (despite the fact that, currently, this causes a client-side crash, =/), and then you have Frost Lich Jaina who is a one-woman infinite value engine. Also holy fuck Black Cat is so good, <3
Might have to give it a crack. I'll probably make a terrible deck, and focus it too much on inspire. Seriously though, I don't think odd is a must for Jan'alai, the Dragonhawk, not with all the support for powering up the ability. And, you know, Spirit of the Dragonhawk. Also could go Justicar Trueheart if you have it.
I feel like I've been set back in time. Played 7 games so far, of which 6 against demonlock. I mean WTF. I was so happy when last set was released we got rid of demonlock and here we are again...
Odd whlie not a must for Jan'alai, is what makes it feel powerful. It's the difference between having to cast your hero power 8 times and casting it 4 times. Also, the difference in dealing 1 extra damage dosen't sound like a lot, but trust me, in makes a huge difference.

Spirit of the Dragonhawk gives your hero power a potential 3 damage per turn. I think that works well. Also, I feel like Rag gets obliterated/transformed the turn after you play it. I don't feel it's worth the entire deck investment for a single card (and the cat :P).

OMG you payed 250$ just for that set and struggel around lvl. 17-20?? I hope you get a good change for AUDs at the moment.... you can also play legend without spending a penny man...
A little more control, I think. And, probably still trying to do too much!
Yeah, I went for a mid-range deck with the tempo swings from Yip and Heavy Metal, while you are much more on a value route. As shown by the choice of the top dragon: Alexstrasza vs Ysera.
The rush beasts package (Akali, Oondasta, War Bears) in your deck doesn't seem to have a lot of synergy with the mechs and dragons, so maybe replace that?
Do you have enough other minions so that Cobalt Scalebane can buff something when it hits the board? Maybe Twilight Drake is worth a try, since you can increase your hand size on turn 2/3 with Firetree Witchdoctor and Dragon Roar. If it hits the board as a 4/7 on turn 4 for example, there is a decent chance it will still be there the next turn to get buffed by Scalebane.
I'm having a lot a fun with Token Warlock and Dragon/Beast Hunter right now :) These decklists are by no means refined but they're still performing decently.
The gameplay is basically the same than Token Druid : flood the board and buff it with Grim Rally and Lost SpiritRatcatcher would definitely improve the deck and i'm still wondering if Snowflipper Penguin and Wisp could be good inclusions xD
And here's the hunter list, doing surprinsly well against Kingsbane Rogue.
Speaking of the devil, I don't find the new Kinsbane Rogue to be particularly good; Raiding Party is oftenly "wasted" to just draw 2 pirates and... Dread Corsair... like... they're really playing this card ? On an other hand, Walk the Plank seems pretty good and hard to play around.
I also encountered 2 Quest Hunter that were playing a list with the secret Package and Crushing Walls. Both of them played Halazzi, the Lynx and wow, this card is insane :o I think Giggling Inventor might actually make a comeback if this card becomes too much of a threat.
I'm having a lot of fun with quest pally. I tried making Odd druid but lacked some of the cards I needed to make it effective enough. Odd mage was also interesting, although I lacked a win condition other than the Loa so I just threw in a Zola the Gorgon and Simulacrum and watched my board overflow with greed. Other than those decks I really want to try out Zul'jin.

I like to experiment and play with everything. Maybe that's the problem. Everyone else is being too competetive! In hindsight, I did go a little bit overboard with buying packs. Turns out I have two of every common and rare. Just my legendary and epic pulls were dismal. $66 = 40 packs = 1 legendary + enough dust to craft one more legend. Whoops. Probably should have invested that in a previous or the classic set.

I mainly added the beasts because of Akali, the Rhino, but yeah, they probably don't fit together. I did try go a bit too far wide, didn't I! Just trying to use everything I acquired. Twilight Drake would be a good replacement, I just don't have any of them yet. I feel weird crafting classic cards, for some reason. As I said earlier in this post, I probably should have thrown some of that extra cash at the classic set...
I am having a blast with a Quest/Bwansamdi/Dragon/Talanji Priest (talking about trying to do too much, huh) and thus far games vs midrange/control are really good. Double seance on that juicy Ragnaros, summoning hunter's/druid's big beasts with Talanji, getting those Dragon synergies from Warrior - if you're into these kind of things, Priest is in a really good spot right now. Also Bwansamdi performs really well with dragons and small quest minions.
I made the ultra greedy deck on purpose, because day 1/week 1 is the moment when it is possible, but there are many good control cards in Priests arsenal. Here is the list: https://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/1212167-quest-talanji-priest. Just 3 legendaries and a bunch of rares/commons. Epic ugrades are possible though.
Keep in mind though that Shaman is a loss 95% of the time.
That looks like a lot of fun! I missed acquiring a priest legend. :( Haven't had much luck with priest in standard. Wild, however... Keen to update both my dragon and big decks soon :D
So far i´ve had a lot of fun trying different decks and i also met opponents with a lot of different decks!
Right now i´m trying a Paladin Deck revolving around Shirvalla and its so much fun!
Oh yeah, I scored both Pally legends, and have been mucking around with heal/spell pally. It is an interesting deck. Keen to see how it evolves into the next year.

Those decks look like a lot of fun. Might try something similar to your token warlock deck. I'm lacking a couple of legends from the hunter deck, but a kingsbane counter sounds awesome! I tried countering Kingsbane with Void Contract. That just wasted a turn and made things easier for my opponent. Looked like such a good card, but, in reality, it's simply too expensive.
Spirit of the Dragonhawk is a low tempo card that only excels in situations where your opponent has enough minions on the board for you to get the maximum benefit, and even then it's only hitting each of them for 1. And you are severely sleeping on odd/even decks. It's having an upgraded hero power right from the start guaranteed every single game vs. having to draw your one copy of Justicar and then play a terribly-statted minion in order to get your upgrade. And if you don't think a cheaper, better-statted Azure Drake is worth running an odd deck for then I honestly don't know what to say to you, =P
I agree odd is good and, of course, better for the hero power. I just feel losing access to even cost spells weakens mage's playability over all. I think odd and non-odd both work well. Only one, however, can transform their opponent's ragnaros into a little lamb. XD

Man, this set is obliterating me.

Dragon Warrior is pretty fun as is Jan'alai
Just craft Whizbang the Wonderful and goof around with him until the meta settles a little bit. Then, get a top-tier deck.
Got the big Whiz. Unfortunately, I like building my decks from scratch and trying to figure stuff out. Yep, I'm a glutton for punishment.
Had a crack with Dragon Warrior, but just didn't work out. Think I was trying to do to much. Reshaping the deck now to be more dragony. :)

Here is my Dragon Warrior deck, maybe give it a go or take some inspiration from it:
Guys, does Dr. Boom fit in dragon warrior deck? I can't find place for him it seems :(
No brain - no pain.

He definitely does! I feel Dr. Boom is the best Character Upgrade when the game goes to fatigue.
Nice one Battery Staple. Here's mine:
